The Waldorf Astoria, a landmark hotel on Park Avenue in Manhattan, offers luxurious rooms with marble bathrooms, just blocks from upscale shopping on 5th Avenue.
Score from 3155 reviews Very good
Very near Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, Subway station is 2 min walk away.
note that the hotel is directly beside a very loud train station which runs all day and night. Our first room was far to loud so we got them staff to switch us up to the top floor, where it was much more bearable. I dread the thought of having to stay in the first room
Good location and nice room for the price.
The hotel was clean and good for what we wanted
Too far away from anything of importance
Great location, Safe area and nice people. Would go back in a heartbeat.
nothing really, sometimes the internet was not working on our floor level and we had to log into the lower floors. This wasn't a big problem though and would not deter us from returning as it was a nice place.
Bed, wifi, cleanliness
Clean. Friendly. Adiquate
The price of the room
WIFI not good enough
I like everything in this hotel.
The clean factor us most important-very good. The friendless of the guys on the the desk was great.
There was lots of space and a great view. There were also tea and coffee making facilities on 2nd floor and within easy distance of the subway .
No wardrobe just a bar to hang clothes on . But we made do, take some hangers as we had 4 between us
We had a room with two queen size beds, one for each of us; really great!! Bed was super comfortable and they cleaned our room every day, perfect! They have a tea dispenser on the 2nd floor.. So everytime we got back at the hotel, we first stopped at the 2nd floor to get a cup of tea and then went up to the room. Hotel 91 felt like our home after a long day of walking around the city. There are two close metro stops: Grand street (7min walk) and East Broadway (5min walk). Oh and make sure you ask the reception for a pick up to bring you to the airport (45 excl tip) instead of taking a taxi (70).
We really like bagels and stuff for breakfast, (but there aren't really places like that in Chinatown), so we just decided to just always have breakfast in the area/neighborhood we were going to explore that day. Which maybe is even nicer! But you just have to wait a little longer until you're having breakfast.
i stayed twice at hotel91 in January 2015,i saw the price online, and was a bit wary of the location, when i arrived i the desk man was quick to check me in,no fuss at all,the hotel is like an apartment block,my room/s were great warm, clean bathrooms, great wifi ,huge tvs, daily maid service, ice machine down the hall, the reception is on the 2nd floor the 1st floor is a bit of a mystery, maybe it had stores one time, maybe sandy flooded it,but it looks really grand, buddahs, red a white and gold, there were 3 doors to it 1 closed 2 open, yet a few times i did pass people who i dont think were staying in the hotel, and i may have seen a homeless man trying to sleep in there one night(it was -13/19f outside) the hotel is right next to the Manhattan bridge,i knew this and was waiting for the noise, yes you do hear the trains and see traffic(and they see you) the noise level drops 8-10pm im a heavy sleeper so didnt find it a problem, the view from my window was incredible, the world trade centre and lower manhattan,it was great to open the curtains each day to see that, the area is just into chinatown,on east broadway by seward park, and two bridges.dont be daunted by the area,i dont know much about chinese culture,i loved it,loys of food, and mad supermarkets, under the bridge to get lost in,this IS real New York, and yeah it may smell a bit,and the odd rat plays chicken on the sidewalk, dont be put off,the lower east side is very close, for clubs bars eats, and a hop on the "F" train can take you uptown,or walk over the bridge to Brooklyn, there is a bar down east broadway called 169 bar charles hanson, great seafood lively and 40ozs of MALT LIQUOR! i really enjoyed hotel91,and the area,i will recomend to my peoples and their peoples,id go back in a minute Yo!
try and get a room at the front,if the train noise will bother you
It's a great deal for the money you pay! It was clean and comfortable. Not in the cleanest neighbourgood but still in Manhattan.
WiFi reception in the room was bad, at times non-existent. Very light sleepers might have problems because of the immediate proximity to the Manhattan Bridge, but it didn't bother me.
Very good location (300m) from Subway, friendly stuff, very clean.
Not so good Wi-Fi connection.
I paid in advance for the room for 1 night. On arrival, I was asked to give my credit card details. $25 was immediately taken off and I was told would be put back in when I checked out. Unfortunately I have not received this money back. I have emailed the hotel and not had a response!
-Wi-Fi always running low -The subway's sound in the night
Very good service, and flexibility, Due to the snow caused the flight delay, I can not check in on time, so ask the Reservation cancel base on the NCNR order, but they have return me the subscription,....I came from China
I loved that the hotel was room was very clean. The bed was really comfy and everything in the room was really modern.
I didn't like the location.
Was skeptical at first due to the cheap price, but was very pleased. I would absolutely stay here again! Very nice and clean on the inside, room was near the bridge but the noise was hardly an issue. The room was small but for me and my boyfriend it was not really an issue. Only complaint was that there was no fridge, but other than that I was overly impressed!
Terrible noise made by trains on the bridge.
Verry strong wifi, free coffee and tea.verry clean
Is close to the train lines and it was a little noise
Internet & food availability
The hotel is well situated on the Lower East Side bordering on China Town. The proximity of the East Broadway Subway station made it easy to access the whole of the New York Subway system. However tourist traps such as Little Italy and Ground Zero were easily walkable. The room and bathroom was clean and modern with a very comfortable bed. The staff were helpful and pleasant. Overall it was very good value.
A kettle to make tea or coffee. There was nowhere really local to get a coffee or meal as the adjacent food and drink places were owned by Chinese with limited English. However Little Italy is 15 minutes walk away so it was no real problem. Some may find the rumble of nearby trains too noticeable but we were on the 3rd floor and found it no real problem.
Value.. Location to Chinatown/ subway Pharmacy across the street
