the bed was super comfy, especially after walking all over manhattan
walking back to it from the subway at night
Beds were comfortable, good WiFi,
The guy at the reception was the unfriendliest receptionist ever. I booked with a card and told I will pay with a different one, he just couldn't get it and told me unless I pay with the same card I can't stay there. - Tried to explain that the card I booked with expired. Eventually he got it. After I paid I was told I can't have a receipt until I check out and that 900 dollars had been blocked for my stay - however the whole price was just over 800 - He never explained why he blocked 900. Very, very, very noisy - you're under the Manhattan bridge and there's a train every 2 minutes. The twin room was tiny. I booked a two double bed room but was told there's nothing available. At 1 am I didn't feel like looking for another hotel. Rats in the street, dirty surroundings. I would never stay there again.
Free coffee and hot showers
Too noisy, for 4 people no storage for glothes at all; too sticky during the nights
Complimentary coffee, tea and water. Wifi was a plus. Good location if attending concerts at Rockwood Or Mercury Lounge as I did on this trip.
Need better signage to locate especially when walking. I got lost trying to find hotel after venturing out for food and trying to return to the hotel.
Great if you want city life hustle and bustle, situated in China Town. Clean, comfortable reasonably priced rooms. Good access to subway and close to sights, sounds and smells of China Town, Little Italy and Financial District
Rooms are small. The ones at the back of the hotel are noisy from traffic and train on Manhattan Bridge. Try and get a room above (7th floor up) or one without a window.
Roomy, beds comfortable, quite
Chinatown is dirty, unsanitary with food in buckets on sidewalk but if they are ok with it, fine. I wouldn't buy anything there.
Wifi was great and available. Access easy, train station for uptown only a 5-10 minute walk. Comfy bed, own bathroom. Hotel felt nic compared to general area.
No safe in room (as in for your valuables), area is a tip, even for Chinatown it feels run down. Trains and traffic overhead, no hot water for ages!! get up early and run the taps for 15 minutes if you need a shower and are an early starter. homeless folks sleeping in downstairs lobby area.
Convient location. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful. I stayed on the side that is away form Manhattan Bridge, it was nice and quiet. Wifi was excellent.
Housekeeper was a nightmare, they entered my room even when I put "do not disturb" sign at the door, and left the door OPEN when they were done. There were also ants in the room.
Really liked the hotel in general, clean tidy nice appearance
Didn't realise we were so close to the Manhattan bridge, which affected sleep at times
the location is fair .,,still in Manhattan but ....
the service was very poor, the hotel very dirty, staff unfriendly ...train noise ...and too expensive for the lack of quality in everything
The hotel is arond many restaurants and located in Chinatown.
The environment aronnd hotel is really dirty and smell. Moreover, the way to the elevator in order ro check in has only a narrow stairs, it is difficult for visitors to carry their heavy bags, cross the narrow stair, and get obln the second floor to check in.
Location and cleanliness
Noise of the train but hardly bothered our sleep as we were dead tired
The location was a perfect retreat from the tourist areas uptown. Staff are great, rooms cleaned everyday, and being in Chinatown was fun and interesting. You are literally next door to the Manhatten bridge, so good views and always easy to find the hotel from any direction! Some people complain about the noise of the subway and the smell...it is a busy neighbourhood, with fresh produce markets, in NY..use your intelligence! Cities are noisy- accept it, enjoy it and take earplugs for sleeping if necessary..
Drink making facilities in the room would be nice, but complimentary drinks are available in the lobby.
Noise of the train station
It is just next to the train track and the noise is unbearable. The quiet room they offer was small and without window.
Staff and facilities were very good, hotel is clean, very comfy bed and large pleasant room, the staff were very helpful all in all a great experience will definitely return
Friendly and helpful staff, clean room, decently comfortable bed and free wi fi. Not fancy but for a place to sleep, it gets the job done for a not so devastating price. Safe neighborhood and great location if you're in the mood for Chinese food!
Close to the Manhattan clerk of court for marriage license/ civil ceremony. Close to the subway- easy from JFK (on the "J" train and to uptown area (on the 4/5/6 train) for sightseeing
Hotel staff were personable. Facility was decent.
It was in Chinatown, not being from NY didn't know the address was Chinatown. It was practically underneath r a Metro bridge, VERY LOUD! streets are dirty and smelly.
A bit noicy having window facing the rail
It was a good location, very clean, good decor and comfortable. Well worth the money..... very luxurious, Tea and coffee facilities available24/7 in the main landing and vending machines on other floors.
Located in Chinatown with lots of bakeries and restaurants around. Easy access via the subway to the tourist sites.
Right under the Manhatten bridge
This hotel is in a great location as we walked to Ground Zero, Wall Street, Brooklyn Bridge, Ellis / Statue of Liberty ferry etc from here. The subway is two blocks up and only a couple of stops up to Bleeker Street area for good bars and restaurant. The subway line also takes you straight up to the Rockerfeller area too. Staff were more than helpful and the room was spotless every day. Lots of reviews mention the bridge that runs right next to the hotel being noisy. Our room was literally next to the bridge but it didn't disturb us. If the window was open it was far too loud but the room had aircon and we had earplugs and slept soundly. We would stay there again.
The location takes a bit of getting used to...we feel like we have been to China! It is a bit of a culture shock but once you get used to it it's fine. Great for picking up fruit and water on your way out for the day as plenty of shops.
Lower Manhattan / Chinatown - close to Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, Staten Island Ferry, Wall Street, Freedom Tower / One World Trade Center
Train noise - but insulated glass window
