- spectacular view (Pacific Room) - comfortable king bed - spacious bathroom (Note: bring your own shampoo) - delicious breakfast - excellent location in Captain Cook - Kurt's tour of his coffee and macadamia farm - Kurt, Kana, and Jenna's hospitality
There are only a few places to eat at night (all within a few minutes of driving), but they close early (often 6pm), as do many eateries on the island, so you have to plan ahead to get dinner or else grill at one of the parks.
We stayed in the Crow's Nest with a 270 deg view of the coast that is spectacular. You get the same view from the deck and the breakfast table. Kurt gave us great advise on exploring and restaurants that helped us achieve the type of experience that we wanted. Edge is close to Captain Cook, but with a feeling of being in the jungle. It has good access to beaches and is an easy day trip to Volcano National Park. Kurt and Kana are intellegent and gracious hosts and the breakfast and coffee were superb.
Hosts were wonderful and helpful. Breakfast was great with fresh fruit grown on the grounds. Bedroom and bathroom were clean. Bed was comfortable. Loved meeting other guests at breakfast from all over the world.
Finding the place the first time gave me difficulties. It is really in the boondocks. In subsequent trips there, however, I had no difficulties.
Great family B and B Lovely owners and extremely helpful in planning your stay to perfection Fantastic View Great fresh local breakfast
Excellent breakfast. Great views. Well informed and helpful hosts.
That we couldn't stay longer.
Great room Fantastic Breakfast Excellent Coffee Free Laundry
fresh breakfasts hosts views bed
location:interesting Kurt is the beloved owner of this b&b.
bed sheets was bit stinky. nobody cleaned this room while we're staying. a price that is not appropriate for the quality of a good.
Hospitality, location, view from the room, breakfast,... everything really! A superb B&B.
Family nice, great breakfast
unique place, great people, extraordinary breakfast and breathtaking view!!!
Everything, wonderful time in Edge...only too short
Location - great views, peaceful and quiet. Kurt and Kana were wonderful hosts - lots of suggestions as to what we could do in the area. We enjoyed our breakfasts that always included fresh local fruits and great coffee! As we were staying 3 or more days we were able to have our washing done for us - a great bonus for travellers. Our upstairs room was beautiful - very private with all the basic necessities including a fridge and pleasant indoor/outdoor areas to enjoy TV, reading or an evening drink or snack. Kurt's directions to reach the B&B were clear and easy to follow. Loved our stay, wish we could have stayed longer!!
We have already visited a few of B&Bs but we found charming aura of this place and kind-heartedness of hosts incomparable. Good location both for beach and sea activities as well as round trip base. We loved it.
nice view, quiet, fresh fruits for breakfast, awesome people.
Cleanlines should be improved. Old worn furniture should be removed along with tasteless pictures and other useless stuff. Everything looks a bit neglected and untidy. Rooms have ugly colours. I sincerely recommend to tidy up thoroughly and to engage a professional interior designer. That could make the stay REALLY marvelous.
Louise and the other girls where wonderful, helpful and very friendly. After a few day you feel like at home. We had to change the booking at last minute due to a cancelled flight and they adapted to our needs without any extra cost and really trying hard to make us feel at home.
The view from the deck was fabulous, the friendly stuff and her breakfast were awesome, even the cats were hospitality! Being sweet enough, they provided snorkeling equipment and beach towels, thus we didn't have to rent things~ Am already missing the 4 days there :)
Large terrace with a wonderful view, nice persons, great hospitality, beach equipment available, good breakfast with delicious coffee, many advices for trips and leasure
Breakfast could be little bit more (in quantity) - nothing else, we can really recommend this fantastic B&B!
The view/location, welcoming hosts. Tranquility in the house. Breakfast changes every day with fresh fruits.
Road a bit tricky, drive slowly.
Hard to find
Stay with a warm-hearted family sharing their and your stories as well as breakfast under the same roof, everything was perfect except you feel it is just too short for your stay.
The drive way down the hill was a bit risky for new drivers, but you'll be fine at last.
The friendly welcome from Kurt and Kana. The great views from the balcony. The tips on where to go and where to eat from Kurt.
Kurt & Kana were friendly, personable and and very helpful. Lovely to talk to, and the food was wonderful. They were wonderful at starting conversations that included all the guests, even though we were from 3 different continents. Their daughter Jenna is so sweet and also very friendly. We really loved our time there and wished it was longer.
No complaints at all, just wished we booked early enough to get an ocean view and not a garden view.
Excellent location, friendly atmosphere, bonny tropical breakfast with Kona coffee, great ocean view, evening birds singing and nice people there.
Amazing place among the coffee and macadamia trees. Gorgeous sunset views from the balcony. Great location close to the best snorkeling spots of big island. Yummy breakfasts with tropical fruits and Kona coffee. Perfect hosts with a great sense of hospitality, dispensing great advices about the area and Big island in general. Kurt is not only kind and generous, he is also a great storyteller and he knows a lot about the island. thanks a lot!
My sunburns from the beach ;) The place itself is perfect!
