The pool was so enjoyable!
Greeting staff on the curb Fire pit Amenities Layout Appearance Parking was close
The desk agent was friendly but slow and had to repeat some steps so that took extra time.
We like the location of the place. Nice skiing facility. Clean.
Hotel feels old and dark...
The customer service was great. We asked for better room and it was granted. They gave us a nice facing the mountain and bigger windows. Last summer, I booked for me and couple of friends they gave us a small room facing the valley. They said no room were available facing the mountain because it was high tourist season.
Since the hotel was built 20 years ago, it has shown some wear and tear. The wood by the hot tub facing the mountain that needs to be replaced. Bathroom are outdated, carpets are old and has smell when walking in the hallway.
Hot tub worked this time. The Pond cafe was perfect this time also, the FIRST time of 5 visits. Very good maintenance of the facilities and clean.
Really weird staff! Checking in, said my card was declined, I insisted that they run it again and it wasn't the card, it was entering the wrong expiration date. At night non-english speaking people pounded on the door while I told them to go away until we took bottles of water from them. In the morning pounding on the door while we were still asleep trying to clean our rooms. Weirdest housekeeping of any country we've been in!
The staff was friendly, efficient and caring The location is beautiful Wifi is excellent Dining choices were varied and good quality
It's a very nice hotel.
We love to spend romantic weekends there.
This time there were hundred of people with children. The pool and spa was so crowded and noisy. It was not very romantic :(
I took full use of Spa facility .... The hydration facial was spectacular -I actually fell asleep at one point (possibly because I was very tired) The full body message was well worth the price!!!! I also enjoyed the salt water pool ,hot tub and dry sauna...due to lots of rain and wind the ski resort was shut Down and it was a Monday I had it all by myself!!! The King room I got was very small but was well worth the price ( lower than normal price) soooo if your looking for a good rejuvenation go during off season and get real good price on rooms ..otherwise check the mountain snow conditions!!from the hotel they run a shuttle bus every 40min. That takes you to most all shops/bars/resteraunts within the small community of Girdwood!!!!
Mother Nature closed down the Tram for skiing (wind) . Which was the only thing open to get ya up to the top of the mountain to the snow!!! December 8 ... So sad for Alaska!!! :(
It is a beautiful hotel and location. We will DEFINITELY stay again
That I was charged almost triple for a bloody Mary when I asked if my second drink could be a little spicier n Lil more vodka. If I had been told it was more than double the price I wouldn't have ordered it stronger.
Love the location and the grounds were excellent with lots of trails to hike on. The staff was pleasant.
I was horrified to find a cockroach in my room. Never expected to see such a filthy creature in a resort or even in Alaska. Also, the room, though spacious with comfy beds, the thermostat was stuck and the heater ran all night. Sadly, maintenance had already left so we slept with a window open allowing who knows what other critters in the room.
the restaurant are on the pricy side, especially the wine by the glasses. prices of the food and wine should be lowered in the off season, so the locals from anchorage and other places in Alaska, will be more affordable and economical, therefore you will fill up more rooms in the low season. the local market is not to be neglected.thank you for a response,
Food was good Bed and pillows comfortable Pretty view
-Expensive movies - limited tv -Room was warm and thermostat could only be adjusted a preset amount -Left for an early flight and bill not completed and didn't get email of bill as promised
The facilities, which include restaurants, gift shop, swimming pool, ropeway are one of the biggest in Alaska.
There is nothing particular about say.
grounds and views spectacular
Tram ride was a waste of money.
Location beautiful, staff very friendly and helpful, sporting goods store also very nice.Beds also extremely comfortable. Love the large, hot whirlpool, the large indoor pool, and the workout facilities.Enjoyed the nightly water and chocolates, too. Tram ride up Mt Alyeska also fun.
no smoking rooms available, smoking allowed only in smoking area outside. for smokers not recommandable
Japanese restaurant was excellent. Very nice hotel
Seven Glaciers Restaurant was wonderful Spectacular views
Everyone was so friendly and the place was beautiful.
Having to leave :)
Rooms were beautifully appointed and well maintained. Food was generally very good. Grounds were very nice and well maintained
Staff (esp in dining rooms) was not well trained. Poor response to issues Very costly resort Transportation from train was not well organized
We stayed only one night but it was enough to decide to stay there the entire time we are in AK on our next visit. Every single detail was perfect.
Nothing. It was perfect.
We stayed there for a night in late Aug on the way to the Airport but this is a great resort for those who like to stay a little longer, just relax and be pampered. It is at the foothills of the nearby mountain (Mt. Alyeska?), has several good restaurants, and you can take the tram to the top for a view of the surrounding mountains. We got a complimentary tram tickets for all day use, which itself was worth up to $100 but I am not sure if they give that all the time. Tram takes you up 2000 foot high. If you hike up to it then you can ride the tram free. Tram or hike, make sure to go to the top. On a sunny or even partly cloudy day (like it was when we were there), you can see several glaciers without any binoculars and it is absolutely gorgeous. We were there on a partly cloudy day with lot of clouds hanging at the top and it gave a surreal experience for us. Don't miss the round house when you are at the top. Staff were extremely friend at the coffee shops. It is a ski resort and hence I expect it to be very busy with the skiers.
They have wired internet connection only at the rooms and WiFi at the public places only. They must have a reason but it did not make sense to me and definitely not to my kids.
The building is beautiful and tasteful. Loved the walking paths.
Nothing. It was a great start to our vacation.
