The rooms were large and pleasant, the front desk staff was excellent. The lobby was beautiful, the parking was ample and convenient. The wifi connection was good and the hotel was quiet at night. The elevators were difficult to open with bags in your hands, the fact that there is no pool, and the television channels were very limited. Also it would have been nice to have some room in the refrigerator to store your own drink or food.

The hotel's Art Deco decor is breathtaking. The bed was one of the best I have slept on in a hotel. The bathroom was cramped and difficult to move in.

Even from the very beginning we could tell that all of the staff was above-and-beyond. A lovely employee who was cleaning the restroom even kindly offered to see if she could check us in early; all of the drivers were wonderful and friendly; the front desk staff was kind and efficient. All in all, we had a wonderful experience. Also, the shuttle service was absolutely phenomenal- a wonderful idea, especially for a hotel just a bit out of the way. That we had to leave!

Shuttle service to the downtown was excellent. The quaint elevators are a nice nod to the hotel's history. The staff were friendly and always helpful. Location was a bit far from downtown, but the shuttle service made this less of a problem. The hotel is on the edge of a sketchy neighborhood to the west.

Very classy hotel. The shuttle service was also very helpful since I didn't have a car...you have to be sure to time it right, but it's a great service. Rooms were clean, spacious, and high quality. The staff was always meticulously polite and helpful. I loved the hotel. I do not like Bookings.com. They misquoted the price to me...fortunately I saved my confirmation email and the hotel lowered the price accordingly, but it means lost business for the hotel or I would have had to pay an extra $150 or so that I didn't agree to. Bookings.com needs to get its act together.

- The price through this website was great. I don't think it's worth the regular rate. - we went to a concert across the street at The Rave and it was a perfect location. - Restaurant/bar staff were rude to some of our group. A couple people in our group brought their drinks down with them while we tried to see if we could get food and/or a table. A friend and I went around the bar to get drinks (never got any after waiting 20 minutes) meanwhile our friends who had drinks with them were told to stand in the lobby. That's fine. But then staff members came over to the side of the bar we were on (not knowing we were with that group) and bashing our friends to themselves and the bartenders. I was so turned off by the fact that they were discussing customers like that, but also loud enough were other customers could hear. As soon as we heard that, we left.

I loved the combination of vintage hotel with updated facilities. The hotel has a lot of character without giving up on comfort, cleanliness and style. Great value for the money! These are only minor issues: while the front desk staff were very friendly, I would have appreciated being thanked when I tip a shuttle driver or having the van door opened/closed for me. And there was only one bathrobe for the two of us in our deluxe suite.

I really liked the old fashioned ambiance and feel of the hotel, especially the elevators. The decor was very nice as well. Quite deceiving from what it looks like on the outside to the looks of the inside. Very nice. Our stay was too short. Definitely will remember the next trip to Milwaukee.
