The staff was awesome (especially Nick). Great continental breakfast with freshly made homemade bread or scones. Full breakfast for a nominal fee. Location was ideal for a quick walk to downtown and the wild life center. Not luxurious, but it was like being in someones home, clean and a terrific value for the money.

Heather was awesome and nice, she made us an awesome Alaskan breakfast; the views were stunning from the room and from the common area; the rooms are unique with lofts that my young daughter loved; a restored historic structure with Alaskan themed furniture and antiques; close to downtown and a short walk to the Sea Life Center and the boat harbor via the nearby waterfront park trail. Nice woodstove! I loved it.

The owners are great, the common room with wood stove was very pleasant to hang out in. The sourdough pancake breakfast was fantastic. Rooms were small but were very quaint. Reading and computer work was done in the common room, not so hard to take.

Swan Nest has coziest and nicest rooms I have ever seen. You feel really like at home.. It is quiet and pleasant.. The only thing I would not recommend it for families with small children, because you hear absolutely everything from one room to another and so if it happens to have a family with crying child as neighbours, be sure that you will not sleep well.. I did not like the breakfast. It was fruit and scones or muesli, and that could be ok, because they offer eggs and bacon for additional 5 dollars, but the scones were not tasty, so maybe they could try with something else, muffins or whatever?.. Because if you have only scones, you cannot choose anything else even you dont apprecite them particularly.

The rooms had a rustic feel with views onto the water and mountains. The dining area also featured large windows with great views. The hotel was very well located within walking distance to several restaurants and the Sea Life Center, as well as a trail along the water. Breakfast featured a yummy baked good (e.g. banana bread or scones), cut fruit, and cereal. Finally, the hosts were very friendly and shared lots of interesting stories. The rooms were cozy with a space for only the bed and trunk for your suitcases, but since most of your time will be spent outdoors, it's not a real problem. Also, the walls are thin so you can easily hear your neighbors.

Local transport company left us stranded in Seward and the Swann Nest owner bent over backwards to help us get to Homer. Don't know what we would have done without him.

The proprietor and his son were very helpful and informative. The inn is upstairs in a nondescript building and our room was a bit snug but about what I expected. Our room was right off the dining area and breakfast consisted of a very tasty assortment of juices, homemade breads and fresh fruits. Eggs were available upon request. They did our laundry at a reasonable price and all was as advertised. It was more entertaining than staying at a conventional hotel/motel and we'd stay there again. Wifi was dependable. Nice place overall.

The host was incredibly helpful, allowing us to use the kitchen and laundry which helped us save our money for all of the boat trips, dog sled rides, and other expensive things that Alaska offers. The kids also LOVED sleeping in the loft in our room.
