The location, clean space, big room.
The shower has a small pressure. Plates, knife and fork are not included. Windows could be repaired.
I met an Aussie, a Dane, a Saudi, a German, and another Michigander -- All of them awesome!
location, staff friendliness
Right at urban transport lines, very pleasant staff, clean, simple, economical
The location is very good and you can take the max lines to move around the city and downtown.
We had a situation that luckily didn't result in any valuable loss: when we got back to our room at night the door was left open after the cleaning service made our rooms. I made sure to tell the concierge about it. It was a good thing that all our stuff was there.
There's construction site right outside my room and I was not notified while booking.
the people who shared my room.
The strange strong smell, no hangers in the bathroom, noisy and really uncomfortable beds. The padlock is not included, one should buy it beforehand.
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was old, but very clean. The location is great--walking distance to sights and activities.
Free parking but very small stalls which were somewhat difficult to get into.
Its location was very good. Near the MAX lines and the street car lines
Shower was no good. Really low water pressure and using the adjustment knob it seemed to only have two settings, super hot and freezing cold.
Close to transport Very helpful staff
Cramped room Limited wifi no jug
Privacy, cleanliness, location all great benefits, price was resonable too.
Outdated, could clearly see tv, call at hour before check out seems unreasonable, parking lot is very tight.
None.thank god was only staying for 2 days
Everything! Doesn't even look like a hotel. More like a abandon building with a bed. Should be free for homeless to sleep in. Never took my shoes off, so dirty. Used my T-shirt as pillow case. The room didn't even have a trashcan. Hotel is right on top of a bar/restaurant that opens until 3 in the morning. My room was on top of the kitchen, you can hear everything. Could not sleep until the restaurants finished closing which was 4 in the morning!!! Made my first portland experience horrible. Will not return to portland!!
We stayed in the private double room at first floor. The room was quite large, with kitchen and storage area. The hotel is close to the city center, the university and the river park.
The room looked quite old and worn down. It was a bit dirty and had a funny smell. For its condition it was quite expensive.
Price is fine for a down town location
Too many things to mention
Location is great, friendly staff when you get to know them Great budget accomadation
near the uni. kind staff.
Cheap and great location for transit.
It's not a hostel. It's a cheap hotel that took their biggest room, put 5 sets of bunk beds in it and calls it a hostel. The bathroom is a normal hotel room bathroom but has to be shared among 10 people. It's not very clean and it's kind of uncomfortable.
This centrally located motel is basic, no frills accommodation but it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, based on several negative reviews we read. Keep in mind many out there expect chocolates-on-the-pillow treatment no matter what the rates. We didn't expect 5-star accommodation when we were paying less than $100/night. The AC worked well in the 90 degree weather and we were a short hop from all the downtown attractions. I'd stay there again any time...
The water pressure was kind of low and the pizza joint (which looked like a fun place, BTW) was a little noisy into the night, but then again, it was the prime of summer when we stayed there...
The location was excellent! Since it's downtown, everything was in walking distance.
The parking lot. The parking lot for the inn itself fits about 7 cars. Their parking lot is of course first come first serve, not to mention that parking in their parking lot is difficult if you have a big car. Difficult, but not impossible, our rental car was a SUV and we always had a hard time parking it because their parking lot is really small and narrow. If you can't get a spot in the inn parking lot, the inn is really close to a public parking lot which will cost you $4/hr before 5pm. After 5pm, it's $4 for the night till 7am.
downtown location close to theater and restaurants.
parking is very tight and difficult to park even for my prius.
The rooms were perfect. Big and spacious, staff was very nice, everything was clean. Did not feel like a motel at all. This is definitely a secret gem in the middle of downtown
Very accommodating. Right next to a yellow line/ green line MAX stop.
Strange electrical outlets... they were controlled by various light switches around the room. The water in the shower had a very narrow temperature zone that was not freezing or boiling.
The staff were very rude. While I was staying they insisted that the showering in my room needed fixing so they basically kicked me out so they could fix it and then left a huge mess that I had to clean up after. I have also NEVER stayed anywhere that was so strict on their check out time. I was a little late getting out by 11 and they called me at least 5 times to tell me I had to leave and knocked on my door TWICE telling me I needed to get out. It was unbelievable and appalling considering I'm not even from the country, it made me feel so uncomfortable. I will never be staying here again.
Good value for the money. Excellent location at the edge of Portland State in downtown Portland.
The shower had a steady leak that the manager was aware of and did not intend to fix. The host required a cash deposit for my key, even though my credit card was on file. The room overheated easily, which is uncommon in Portland. We had to run the air conditioner all night to stay comfortable.
