Rustic charm. Friendly staff. Family friendly with fire places, area for kids to play. Outdoor pool looked clean. Might be a nice alternative to camping with kids. Plenty of privacy.
I feel like they are trying..we were there end of season. Shower stall in need of replacement..Shower curtain was sketchy, stained. T.v. outdated. wifi signal was horrible. But were in cabin farthest from office.
The rooms are very clean Cute place to stay
The view was ok but a bit of a tiptoe reach to see the sea. Very cold at night.
Not many extra facilities
The view, the silence, the out-in-the woods feeling is so relaxing. Clean bathroom, simple decor with good food up and down the road. Wish I could have stayed another day.
Internet signal is weak, but I didn't really care, I was so relaxed.
Owner was very helpful with area information.
We didn't get hot water because we didn't let the water run long enough. I guess being from northern California, we are programmed not to waste water. Consequently, we didn't tale showers.
the ocean view staff was awesome - very friendly check in very simple, fast.
small shower, not enough towels, and no one on staff after hours, or in morning.
Back deck was nice in the morning. Staff was nice.
Beds were terrible (hard). Room smelled and not clean.
This was a great place to stop for a night in the Camden area. Very simple yet cozy! The little heater was a must and kept us plenty warm. We very much enjoyed sitting out on the back porch taking in the view of the Penobscot Bay. Grabbed sandwiches at Camden Deli ( delicious and be sure to enjoy the view in the back) and went to the top of Mt Baitte, a must do! Cabin is about a mile from the scenic view. If your in the area travel about 40 more minutes and enjoy Fort Knox and the Penobscot Bridge Observatory. Great area to enjoy and I would stay again!
A mini fridge would've been nice but I did have a small cooler
Convenient location to where my festivities were. Box fan in room.
Dead bugs in shower and all over bathroom floor. Mildew shower curtain. Very stained carpet. Very hard and old mattresses. No sea view although "all rooms are seaview?" No staff on site all hours. No blow dryer. Staff doesn't answer phone half of the time. Not a good way to run a business. Window left wide open in room. Nobody checked my id or credit card that I booked room with to see if it was me...at check in or out...anyone could have checked into that room.
The location was perfect, the staff was very accommodating, Close to a lot of dining areas to choose from, stores, ocean, activities.
No wi fi in rooms, loosing the power in the middle of the night and freezing
Bedspread wasn't clean. No morning coffee. WiFi only outside the office door. Minimal heat and poor bedding.
The owner had great cutomer service skills and was very friendly. The location was in between Camden and Belfast so it wasn't to far in either direction if you needed to get something at a store. The bathroom and shower were very clean.
With the springs poking thru the mattress it made it very uncomfortable to sleep. It would have been nice to have had a couple extra pillows. There were lots of cobwebs that should have been taking care of by housekeeping. If the mattress was more comfortable and there were no cobwebs I would have rated my stay higher.
Great Location! The Staff were friendly, helpful,, and made you feel at home. The View was wonderful from our second floor room and very relaxing! After many visits to Maine, we felt that Abbington's was on the correct side of the road for a more relaxing visit! A microwave would be a grand addition to their room. And if you forgot something, they would get it for you and/ or tell you where to go to get it. Lastly, their pool was grand but the weather was just a little too chilly for us to enjoy this visit. We will definitely return to one of the quaint cabins on our next visit in the Fall and/ or next year!!! Thanks, Seth and Family!!! sys...Lauren and Mallory
The location was excellent with a great sea view. Staff were friendly too
No wifi connection in the cottage and no facilities
Thought that the road traffic was going to come right through the front door of the cottage it was so loud.
The bed was comfortable, the shower was big. Nice view.
No wi-fi in the cabins
Rock hard beds. Paper thin walls. Neighbors bathroom sounded like Niagara Falls. Slogan is " The way vacations used to be". And the beds are that old too. This place is a tear-down. Or else Hey guys put SOME money back into it !!
Need bigger towels!
Good beds. Great view .
No fridge or micro due to limited electrical capacity . Towels skimpy.
Took a long time to get hot water in shower.
The price was reasonable for the area.
Bunnies! Views! Location! Staff!
The staff was helpful in suggesting things to do in the area. The cottages were very clean and neat. The location is beautiful and it is easy to get to many of the coastal towns where there are some nice shops and other places to go sightseeing. The price for the area is exceptional.
The cottages are close to the road so you can hear the cars driving by. While you can see the sea it is a long walk to actually get to it. If staying for an extended period of time there are no microwaves or fridges for cooking in. The lower cottage numbers have Wi-Fi but if you go towards the cottages further from the office you start to lose the signal.
#1 the view #2 the staff #3 the surrounding countryside
rooms could use some basic maintenance
