We purposefully wanted a place out of the way from the standard busy hotels of Flagstaff - and we weren't disappointed ! We loved the location in the pines, the nice deck where we enjoyed our morning coffee and late night drinks. The bed was comfortable. breakfast yummy and the amenities great !
Wendy, the owner, was super sweet and so helpful. The lodge is in a great area, the stars are so visible at night! The attitude of everyone there was terrific! It is also much more personal and "homey" than a hotel. They were very accomodating with my hubby, who is very picky about his breakfasts, too. After returning from our days activities, it was nice to be able to hang out in the living room, take a walk around the premises, enjoy the game room (which includes a microwave a small refrigerator), and enjoy the other guests, if desired. You wouldn't have these options at a hotel. Two thumbs up...will definitely be staying there on our next visit to Flagstaff. If you are looking for a change in options while going out of town, or are just tired of the impersonal attitudes of the chains, or are weary of the sloppiness of local motel owners, I'd say give this lodging option a chance. You will be glad you were willing to step out of the box.
I didn't have any complaints. However, if I can make a suggestion? It would be nice if the rooms had a clock...can even be a small, night-stand type.
We enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch with a lovely bottle of wine purchased in their wine bar. The staff was friendly, the room comfortable, the breakfast delicious and the pine woods view from our bedroom window delightful. We spent an enjoyable hour or so over breakfast conversing with two other couples.
Excellent breakfasts and comfortable surroundings
No clock in the room
Breakfast was wonderful. Great location, close to Flagstaff. Yet, far enough away to be away........
Bed was very comfortable. Room was neat and clean.Had great conversation with the (very interesting) owner. Breakfast was excellent. Convenient location off the interstate. Very quiet! Might be a little difficult to find after dark due as signage was poorly lit.
Some of the staff wasn't very friendly
The perfect ambience of the lodge. You will like it if you want personal service and prefer small intimate lodging
staff support under snow conditions staff flexibility and continuous kindness
Staff was very accomodating and hospitable. Meals served on schedule and well prepared. Very very quiet location which was a real plus. Enjoyed the convenience to Flagstaff for in town activities, hiking, etc.
The setting and the staff. The facility was very nice.
No TV in room. Fireplace blower was very noisy.
Breakfast was fresh and made to order.
Our favourite place on our road trip. A great wooden lodge just outside of Flagstaff. The staff were lovely, the whole feel of the place was homely, organised. Tea and coffee, chess, lounge and little wine bar area in the hub with a stove fire. A veranda overlooking the forest and possible Elk sightings. We did an All Star Grand Canyon hike while we were there (highly recommend), they collected us from the hotel. Most guests will have a car and a trip into Flagstaff centre, close by for dinner is best, although there is a burger/pizza place close by. Wonderful!
The owners were good hosts and very likeable. I like supporting family run businesses and the family feel of this bed and breakfast. The breakfast was delicious and we also enjoyed the wine tasting bar in the evening. We took a nice hike in the woods adjacent to the inn. Very peaceful and beautiful.
It was a little hard to find the signage from the road. We had to turn around and found it on the second try.
Charming bed and breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very attentive and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful.Close to where we needed to be.
Memory foam mattress pad on the bed.
Staff makes you feel welcome. Other guests are friendly, easy to talk with and meet. This place is more personal. Big hotel chains are like a cold hospital.
Bed was good, but I like much firmer than most other people.
The breakfast was outstanding!
