Hotel Abri Union Square  

location

I was placed in a room facing Ellis Street. There was a nightclub outside and the air conditioning unit let in all the noise from the nightclub. It was unfortunate that I was placed in such a noisy room despite there being other quieter rooms available. I literally had 2 hrs sleep on the thurs night. I was informed the room could not be modified due to the building being listed.

Location was perfect as it was nearby to union square. Decor was modern and eye pleasing. Toiletries were from l'occitane which was nice. Enjoyed the free morning coffee and afternoon shooters. Nice, big flat screen tv. The only reason I'd come back though is because of its prime location.

Room was very small. Regular queen room could barely fit two bodies and suitcases. No table area by sink. Very loud if staying on outer part of hotel. Window ac unit was loud. Bed not comfy and first nights sheets smelled like B.O. Had a bathroom scale which did not work. Minimal amenities but it didn't really bother us since we were out all day.

The staff was very responsive to my needs. Great location. Nicely appointed rooms, but a little small.

The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. Very high marks!! The lighting in the room was good and the desk was large. The bed linens were very nice.

Very small points -- My room and the bathroom were small, but comfortable. The street noise was very loud all day and night, so I'm glad I'm a sound sleeper. The windows were very small so the natural light was limited. But for the price, this was an excellent value.

We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was attractive, neat and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. Our only slight discomfort was the street noise at night; but we were warned that it might be an issue and we were offered a smaller inside room. We opted for the larger room with a window and put up with the street noise. It was not that big of an issue for us. The location was great, as we traveled by train to Emeryville. From there we were bused to the city. The Amtrack bus stop is very near the hotel. We had a really wonderful weekend...concert at Slims, a play that we just walked into, good food and fun shopping.

Staff was very friendly; location is very good, close to union square and public transportation; there ir a restaurant in the hotel that is also good.

Room is a bit small

The price was a bargain for the room. Centrally located around many stores and eateries as well as a mall. The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations for getting around the city. The room was simple yet chic, pletny of room and clean. Overall a great hotel... would definitely recommend!

No complaints!

Great location, nice rooms, and nice decor.

The valet parking took longer than expected when trying to make morning meetings (about 20 minutes one time). My room on the second floor (223, I believe) was very noisy. I didn't really hear street noise, but there was constant slamming and jostling noises coming from above and/or below me. My boss and I would not stay there again for the fact that when trying to get to bed early (in hopes of waking up early), the noise was difficult to fall asleep to.

The Staff was friendly and even gave us a upgrade. The rooms were small but it is the City. Had a suite, flat Screen TV's and functional working desk. Lighting was good. In corridor room so did not have much of the city noise in the room. .

Hotel is near a Subway sandwich shop.....so smelt baking bread... at first no problem but after awhile a little repulsive. Small slow elevators.
