The hotel was uber-cool ! Although the staff were very young and hip the level of service was really very good. Close to Time Sq, Empire State etc. very central. Hotel restaurant was excellent. |

The location was great, the hotel staff was wonderful (each and every one we talked to), the ambience was hip, the room was spotless and the design was attractive. Our basic room was very small, but we knew that in advance. And we spent very little time in the room. |

Great location. The central bar down stairs is an amazing place to hang, work, have drinks or meet with friends. But be warned, it is a central hang point most evenings and is not in the "relaxing quite drink" category. The staff was almost a little too hipster. The edgy indifference grates after a while when you just want to sit in the hotel bar or get something fixed with your room. The bathroom while well decorated had a shower that varied randomly between freezing and luke warm - not terrible, but not exactly welcoming. |

It was very trendy, lots of action (filming tv shows, designer photo shoots, etc. The location is pretty central. The bed was very comfortable and it was nice that they provided robes. There was an awesome coffee shop in the lobby and the bar was also really fun! It is a really cool hotel! I felt that the extraneous activity, (photo shoots, tv filming, etc.) was more important to the hotel than it's guests. We were actually prevented from access to the lobby during a photo shoot. The TV in the room kept cutting out (sattelite disturbance), and there was a coffee pot and cups, but no coffee in the room. The shower was small and the shower curtain clings to your body while showering. There was alot of street noise, and a muslim prayer center across the street where prayers start at sunrise and are broadcast over a loudspeaker. Some things can't be helped, and some they just need to work the kinks out. |

The overall design was interesting, and the rooms were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and had a nice vibe in the lobby areas. Top marks all round! I definately recommend! The ice machine in the corridor made a fair bit of noise! |

Everything, awesome hotel. Tip: Ask for a high room with an Empire State view. Only the fact that I'm not still there. |

The hotel design is fantastic, very urban. The cheap rooms are rather small, especially shower, a bigger person may face difficulties using it. The lobby bar is very busy and loud, some people find it exciting while some may be put off by the nightclub-like crowd. The coffee shop on street level sells one of the best coffees in midtown. |

Staying at the Ace Hotel is an experience. Even on a Tuesday night the lobby-cum-lounge is a happening spot--not the typical hotel bar that'd be empty if not for a few lonely businessmen. Although the rooms appear to be glorified dorm rooms, they are much more charming in person. The sparse decorations really draw attention to the thoughtful, and endearingly quirky, details: luxe Wing + Horn robes, hand soap-on-a-rope, painted wall canvas, very comfortable bed, etc. The next morning I grabbed coffee and a delicious ham-n-cheese pretzel-bread sandwich from Stumptown. While I enjoyed my breakfast and surfed the complimentary internet, I surveyed the other Ace guests: young business people designing iPod apps and pushing new clothing lines. Room had a faint funky smell (not enough a nuisance to even complain to the front desk). A somewhat lackluster area, but that encourages you to branch out and explore the other parts of the city which is made convenient by multiple nearby metro stops, penn station, and consistently available taxi service outside the hotel doors. |

I was planning my trip to New York since summer, having read a lot of information and reviews. Finally, I booked for Ace Hotel the last week before my trip (ten days' wedding trip with my husband), as then they offered a lower rate than earlier. However, I was rather sceptical, as there is a lot of complaints about expensive and small hotel rooms in nyc. Fortunatelly, the place is exactly what i wished to find: great disigned and decorated to the last detail, young crowd, fabulous enormous lobby and bar, with an indepedent - no hotel - atmosfere. Our room was like a small studio, with a leather sofa and other minimal - retro furniture, very clean and comfortable. Moreover, they satisfied my request for a city view, giving us a 10th floor room with faboulous view to the Empire State building, which was just opposite the hotel!! (5 blocks north) What was also important to me, is that it gave me a feeling of an independent residence, because of its studio effect and the hotel's discrit, but effective staff. But, beware: if you look for a more traditional hotel, you may not be satisfied. Just to mention a disadvantage: the air condition heating system is not efficient enough for chilling winter days.. Location very convenient to metro/transit. Design and decor unique and interesting. Room amenities, i.e. refrigerator and stock of minibar food, etc. very good. Onsite restaurant nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would suggest improving exercise facility. Very dark and not enough mirrors - which made it hard to tell if anyone was coming in our out when facing the wall on eliptical machine. Felt a bit unsafe. |

Fantastic hotel -a restoration of a classic NYC hotel with currrent twists. Staff is awesome and food and services are divine. Love this place - concept and execution are bar none. Rooms by elevator can be noisy. |
