Staff not helpful at all
It was great to be near midtown, to walk everywhere as I needed to get to penn station and it was easy to just walk! Loved the vibe and all the details, furniture in the room. All staff super helpful and friendly!
Just great, really can't fault this hotel! The staff are amazing and really go out of their way to be helpful, if you need anything. Not really in my favoured location but even so, will definitely stay again!
-Decoration is superb -Stumptown Coffee right next door (almost inside the hotel) -Restaurant is great -Room is really comfortable
-Location isn't that great
The bed was so very comfortable. The staff was quite helpful.
location was great for walking to soho, the village etc, but also for getting uptown. bar had a great vibe. our room was fantastic, and we had a view of the empire state building. lovely stay.
the restaurant has no vegetarian options which was rather annoying.
The position was great, the medium room is cosy, with a sofa
No wordrobe, the curtain of the shower was sticking on me,because too short, the carpet not so much clean and the laundry wasn't perfumed
phenomenal space, perfectly decorated, perfect NYC feel, very cool
Location, the body wash, shampoo & conditioner in the bathroom is superb, the style is so hip
Too loud in the lobby area, dark, lacking hook in the bathroom to hang your clothings, at least it should have a table if you want to eat or write
We spent two days in Ace Hotel in the end of our honeymoon in June 2014. Everything was perfect as usual, this is our second stay in this hotel. Very welcome staff, perfect room, nice view for Empire state building. Location of the hotel is very convenient and close to most place which we visited. In the morning you can take perfect coffee to go on the first floor and in the evening take a rest in oyster bar with glass of prosecco and fresh seafood. Also it was nice to have good shampoo and shower gel etc. in our bathroom, which we used instead of ours that is very rare in hotels. Next time we are in NY we know where to stay. And thanks for free cookies on arrival!
Free upgrade amazing staff fun and exciting place, I loved every bit of my stay
Cable was spotty
The Ace Hotel was a great value in a great area of the city. The lobby/ bar area was very cool and a great place to meet up with friends. My room wasn't ready upon check in, but the girl at the front desk was very nice and gave me a free drink voucher while I waited, which ended up only being about 5 or 10 minutes at most. My room was very clean and had nice, simple decor. The bed was comfortable, as well. There are nice restaurants in and around the hotel and also a few shops. I would absolutely stay there again.
My only complaint was the a/c seemed to not be working properly and the bathtub didn't drain all the way, but I didn't mention it until the end of my stay and a manager promptly addressed it, so I am confident had I mentioned it during my stay, they would have taken care of it.
The vibe was amazing, the rooms were quirky and out of the ordinary. Food was great, staff and service excellent.
Rooms are a bit dark could do with more lighting or brighter globes.
Great staff, very friendly. Treated me and my spouse very nicely. I highly recommend anyone to stay there. The atmosphere is great and the retro style is amusing.
Cool scene, great coffee in lobby, music until late at night, great bar downstairs. Amazing location -- walkable to Penn Station and a subway right on the corner. Great value for the money when you get a good deal. Love the aesthetic. Good showers.
I saw a giant cockroach in the gym in the basement, and a tiny white bug fell out of my fridge when I opened it.... yuck. Also the front desk staff lost some forms overnight, which made checking out a pain.
The staff are super welcome and helpful!
The mini room is mini...
The location was just right. The hotel was an excellent choice. The staff were very professional. My room was very clean.
Reasonable value for money
Too keen to be cool

the moment you walk into the lobby, you know you are in for something special! The vibe was great and the guest room was no let down. Great surprise and we'll be back!
I loved the hotel, the staff were amazing and my room beautiful. I may be a bit dazed by design as I am a designer BUT all the small touches around the room were like little hidden treasures I kept discovering. The location was great for me as I love to walk and was able to walk to all the sights. A leisurely 30min stroll into soho for brunch was a highlight. The BEST bit was getting into my room for the first time, tired and stressed out, opening the blind and seeing the empire state building framed perfectly staring back at me. I really did jump up and down with glee. I've already recommended this hotel.
Coolest hotel on earth
It's so cool sometimes you just can't sit at the lobby
I booked a room for my boy friend's birthday. He was very surprised and impressed. Super stylish loft. Very fun to stay. Great selection of Vinyls. Great view #811 Cool retro fridge. Clean and deep bath tub to take a long bath. I would definitely come back.
