comfortable and stylish
lots of street noise at night
Second time we've staied there. The Ace's got the NYC soul. The staff is awsome and there were nice people every evening at the lobby. The 28st Subway station is right on the corner.
the ken friedman restaurants were spectacular as was the coffee shop. very active lobby vibe and very helpful staff
The bed was extremely comfortable. In fact it was the best nights sleep I have gotten in months. The hotel is loaded with great restaurants, shops, a barbershop, an amazing cafe, and a great super cool lobby.
The bathroom was very cramped and the toilet paper dispenser was situated in an extremely poor location making it impossible to sit properly on the bowl, nuff said. Also, the cleaning staff was a bit pushy on my checkout day, and room service was very bad about picking up dirty dishes left outside people's rooms. I saw the same dirty dishes in front of someone's door for two days.
Cool place with really helpful staff who have some great tips on places to eat. Location is really good too.
Couldn't get a seat at the bar
- decoration - smell - breakfast room - noise
The open and friendly service from all. The amazingly comfortable room. The design details throughout. The food at both The Breslin and The John Dory. The cocktails. And just sitting in the foyer watching New York life congregating for business and leisure. The Ace has so many things to rate positively. It's a hotel that mirrors the eclectic and fascinating city of NYC.
You get used to it after a while but it's a hotel that resides in near-nightclub levels of lighting. Daylight isn't encouraged. It makes sitting on the vast sofas in the foyer, or in your room, quite womb-like and comforting but at the same time the jet-lagged or weary traveller be warned. You end up wanting to doze off even in the middle of the day.
Location, interior, new experience!!
The guy on front desk was lovely and I got an upgrade to a beautiful suite which was great! The room was so funky and very comfortable! Also the staff on front desk where fab at recommending places to eat and they also booked the tables for us! I am looking forward to staying at the Ace hotel again.
Location. Comfortable beds
Noisy early in the morning, room very dark, not enough electrical outlets and tv didn't work well. It got fixed though.
we visited Ace hotel on our 1st anniversary. hotel's location is really convenience and hotel's room condition is very clean, cozy and comportable!! what is better, they gave us a congraturation champain and upgading room!! it's so awesome!!
everyhting was great, especially the food in restaurant inside hotel was very tasty.
The room very quiet and perfect bed. clean, nice location! The best choise for young persons
The location is amazing, the staff is super nice, the rooms are so comfortable, clean and we had a stunning view on the Empire State Building. A+ hotel. Go there, you won't be disappointed.
the wifi didn't work in my room but there was a computer station just down the hall i could access.
Staff not helpful at all
It was great to be near midtown, to walk everywhere as I needed to get to penn station and it was easy to just walk! Loved the vibe and all the details, furniture in the room. All staff super helpful and friendly!
The staff were very friendly and responsive to requests. The hotel lobby and bar was lively and always a great place to grab a drink.
The room was very charming, however a bit suprised by the lack of amenities available in the bathroom, and thought the mini bar charges were a bit rediculous, although most are anyways.
Just great, really can't fault this hotel! The staff are amazing and really go out of their way to be helpful, if you need anything. Not really in my favoured location but even so, will definitely stay again!
I saw other complaints about it being dark in the lobby, yes this is true but it was a very nice dark lighting. The bed is extremely comfortable along with the pillows. There is some humor in the least expected places (hard to explain). There was a live band playing in the main lobby which was nice, the staff was very young and hip but overall they were really friendly and even helped with finding attractions in NYC with out even being annoyed. The location of this hotel is key, few blocks from penn/time square and it is also real close to a 7/11, lastly it is real close to this amazing rooftop restaurant (brunch or late night dinner) I highly recommend going there it's called 230 fifth. Overall I would recommend going there to others and even may go again myself. Also, check out was 12PM for me, I didn't request it to be that late so I am just assuming their check out time is 12 for everyone. That was such a relief.
Minor negatives but nothing that would shun me away. -15 minute showers or else the water will overflow. I think 15 minutes is plenty of time to do your business. -Dont even look at the mini bar inside your room, as I said before there is a 7/11 one block over, stock up there and save the money. -I paid for the small room and got exactly that, a dorm sized bedroom. Although we just got the room just to sleep so that really wasn't a negative for me but I don't know how others would take this (took myself and my girlfriend). -the sink is literally 2 feet from the bed so if your significant other is asleep and you want to wash your hands or brush your teeth they will hear it for sure. Like I said these were all minor things, to me it was still a step up from most of the hotels you can find in the city for the price and location you get. I will say this is probably geared towards the younger crowed but don't let that shy you away if you are a little older the hotel was very quiet and I didn't hear a single noisy person on our floor.
This hotel has so many cool features to enjoy - turntables and a vinyl collection, great furniture, curated mini bar products, great body wash and shampoo from the barbershop downstairs, and a very comfortable bed! The restaurants and cafe on site are also excellent.
The only complaint we had was that the shower was very small, which would be fine if it had glass doors, but it had a shower curtain surrounding it that inched in on your space. My partner and I are both small individuals, but found we couldn't turn around in the shower comfortably (and you definitely can't fit two people in there!)
-Decoration is superb -Stumptown Coffee right next door (almost inside the hotel) -Restaurant is great -Room is really comfortable
-Location isn't that great
The bed was so very comfortable. The staff was quite helpful.
location was great for walking to soho, the village etc, but also for getting uptown. bar had a great vibe. our room was fantastic, and we had a view of the empire state building. lovely stay.
the restaurant has no vegetarian options which was rather annoying.
The position was great, the medium room is cosy, with a sofa
No wordrobe, the curtain of the shower was sticking on me,because too short, the carpet not so much clean and the laundry wasn't perfumed
