I had booked online and requested a twin room as I was with my 21 year old daughter. On arrival we were offered a "large bedded" room. Only after some discussion were we given a room with a sofa bed at a surcharge.
Really nice and cosy hotel at a perfect location to see both Soho, Meatpacking and the village, and 5th avenue and central park. Styling is excellent, restaurant and coffeespot are superb!
The concept, exceptional. I had a record player that I was able to use in my room, fantastic and also I had the Empire State View, absolute fantastic.
One Staff, the lady with the pink hair, was really rude, all of the other staff, especially the asian lady with glasses where fabolous. I never had such a great experience with young staff that gave exceptional service.
The staff, the vibe, the location and the price
Really hard to get a seat in the lobby
Excellent staff, location , rooms and entertainment this hotel has it all fantastic
Loved vibe of the hotel and the location was great - short walk to Herald Square, Macy's and Times Square. Staff very friendly and helpful.
No tea and coffee in rooms
ACE offers something truly different from a lot of the one-size-fits-all hotels we see. Great eye for design details. Adding a twist here and there to its sensible functionality. Check out their events calendar and realize they are more than a hotel. The guest service throughout the hotel is great, easy-going, laid-back but with the right attention. The audience is diverse, as real great cities are. Gerard
I love this hotel so much It is not too expensive, and it is so comfortable
We spent the week of Thanksgiving in NYC.y husband and I are from Texas and it was our first time to the city. We met my friend from Getmany and her boyfriend. The hotel was perfect. We had the mini room and it was definitely small, which we expected, but cozy. The bed was comfortable, decorated very cool, bathroom was great, I loved that there was a tub. They had snacks and a stocked mini fridge and other things you might have forgotten in the room with a price list that was reasonable. The staff was helpful and friendly. My husband left his debut card at the lobby bar one night and they had it in their security room. He showed ID and got it right back. Overall a great place to stay. The adjoining restaurant has great food as well.
The price jumped a lot for the nights surrounding the holiday. The lobby is always full of non guests. It's a hangout spot for people to use wifi, enjoy the coffee bar, or the lobby bar. At night the lobby bar is very packed every night of the week. The lobby is extremely warm. Even though it was in the 30s outside I would have to go to my room to change into a tank top to enjoy the lobby bar. It was easily 80* in there. Although it was always loud in the lobby the rooms were very quiet. The last night we were there we decided to use the photo booth and that happened to be the night it was not working.
Location in NYC is very good to discover the City. The ACE hotel is a well designed boutique hotel, especially when you like it very dark. For us a hotel is a home for travellers, not so in the ACE hotel. Due to the famous bar and the two restaurants the hotel is very crowded and the staff don't know whow is hotel guest and who not - long rows at the bar, not the nice tables in the restaurants and bouncer at the hotel door. Next time we will go to another hotel, I'm sure we will have the same NYC feeling with more comfort.
Loved the room, loved the lobby, loved the cocktails in the Breslin!
Hands down the hotel with the best vibe I've ever been to. The rooms are very comfortable and the lobby is a great hang-out area with bands performing in the evening and people chilling out during the day. The bar serves great drinks and the restaurants are good as well. All staff were very friendly throughout our stay. Would highly recommend it.
Rooms can get a bit cold in wintertime. Can be tricky to find somewhere to sit in the lobby, although the staff will make an effort to find a spot for hotel guests
The staff The BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The coffee shop!! The restaurants! The secure elevator! The energy:)
Would have liked a table in my bathroom. There was plenty of space for one. I didn't have much room for my toiletries. Clock near the bed Bathtub had a wrapper or something floating in it 1st night... was there the 2nd nite too..... not mine:(
This hotel's location is ideally placed very centrally in Manhattan, without being on one of the busier streets. The design of the hotel is uniquely different and modern to your typical mid-sized hotel.
The lobby can be very loud in the evening as it doubles as a popular evening spot. It is relatively easy to avoid and cannot be heard from the rooms.
Good choice of restaurants, particularly liked the oyster bar.
Bathroom a little small.
Couldn't get the TV to work asked for it to be looked out when I went out for dinner. Came back around midnight & it wasn't fixed. ace promises but didn't deliver. Asked for a table for dinner in the hotel restaurant but was told it was booked out. I looked in when I went out for dinner & it was half empty. Maybe I needed to grow a beard & wear shiny shoes & I would have got a table.
Great restaurants downstairs.
Black mold seen growing on ceiling. Room smelled moldy.
young and fun atmosphere in the lobby, good restaurant
Rooms not up to a 4 star hotel: dark, unclean with a strong musty smell. The windows are not opening as in front of the ventilation systems so there is no the light in the room. The staff is friendly but not very competent, we asked to book a table for us in the restaurant near the lobby but they were not able and were told that we had to do it alone because . When we complained about the rooms they said that as we had booked through Booking, the price is better but the rooms assigned are the worst.
This was our first time at the Ace and I am completely impressed. The staff was great and friendly- they even gave us a major room upgrade when we checked in, just because. Our room was awesome and I felt totally pampered in there. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've stayed at in a hotel. The Ace is now our place for staying in NYC.
Vibe, lounge, bar , restaurant
TV did not work properly, shower had no pressure and worked poorly, light flickered and when I called for service no one showed up
The hotel is very depressive, but pretending to be very stylish. Cold in the rooms, extremely cold in the bathroom. Personal is not helpful and not available on time in case ov emergency. Maximum price for this hotel should be 250$/night. Left the hotel after 1st night, but was planning to stat for a week. The rating of 8,5 in booking.com is not fare
Stump town coffee and lobby
The staff were young and in experienced which resulted in $5000 being authorized/frozen in our account. The bathroom was useless, the toilet didn't flush properly, the shower pressure was useless and it didn't drain and the lighting was a total joke. The whole hotel is trying far to hard to be cool and trendy and in my opinion is very over priced!
