Not too many local bars.
Great attention to detail everywhere and atmosphere in the lobby. Friendly staff.

The staff was very friendly and quite helpful. The restaurant in the hotel was fantastic and waitstaff at the restaurant was delightful.

Small bathrooms. Had to sit sideways on the toilet.
The staff was very knod

Being 62 years old, my eyes arent the best, and I found the lobby uncomfortably dark. It was mostly younger people in the lobby who can tolerate the lack of light. FYI, I overheard a staff member who stepped outside and she mentioned that her eyes hurt from the extremes of light.
I really liked the laid back feeling, but not laid back in courtesy, comfort and cleanlines.

First off when I checked in there was a smell of cat/dog urine in the reception area but I only smelt it the one time. During the night I was woken a few times with people coming back from bar or club.
Nice hotel but not very corporate if that's what you are looking for. It's more a holiday hotel full of energy and character. They is something going on there all the time. Food in restaurant was very nice.

Way overpriced for what you get. I understand that you are paying for the eclectic decor and hipster vibe, but there is no reason for the price for a small dated room to be $400+ on the weekend. I understand that it's nyc, but I've gotten way better deals at better hotels in the city on a weekend. It's a good hotel but not that good.
Customer service was amazing and the location was perfect. I'm from just moved from Seattle so it was nice to have access to Stumptown Coffee!

The lobby is cool but always crouded. There are so many people on laptops using the wifi that it can be off putting if you just want to sit and chill with a drink. The bathrooms could offer a little more privacy. There are gaps in the cloth over the windows and as close as some are, there are some 'acts' that don't require viewers! Just a little feedback. This probably wouldn't apply to all rooms but in ours where everything was positioned it meant the gaps weren't ideal.
The hotel has a very trendy vibe. No floral carpet and dated curtains here. Staff are friendly and helpful and the bedrooms are comfortable and kept very clean by housekeeping. The location is great and (providing you have comfortable shoes) within walking distance to loads of tourist spots. The Subway is also around the corner. We used this all week for $32.

Very cool room and friendly staff. Great coffee shop. Easy parking.

It was a great hotel but the double twin room paintings weren't to my taste. A big menacing pit bull terrier and 'Burrow of Kings' was a bit chav tastic. Other than that, a beautiful room.
Great decor and furniture. Well stocked mini bar and goodies.

Incredibly friendly staff. Great design details , perfect location . Definitely a west coast feel in NYC

It was a little expensive, but it's in New York City.
The bed was very comfortable. The location and decor of the hotel were great. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
April 20, 2015
Everything was in black, made me question the cleanliness of the place..although it doesn't look dirty at all.
Even the mini room has great amenity. Definitely love the music there. Lobby has an evening vibe all day long. Cool boutique (Opening Ceremony) attaching to the hotel. Staff were awesome and extremely helpful.

lobby bar is a great spot to hang out and the room was very comfortable.
April 17, 2015
Desk staff are a bit curt, wash basis in the room area is inconvenient and very very loud. Overall bed size is quite small for 2 people. We wanted to extend our stay and were quoted 360++ at the desk which was an overkill considering it was not even peak season. Second stay but not coming back any more!
lobby area. this was my second stay here and the last time I was upgraded to a bigger room as there was a huge dog painted on the wall which was scary. This time we got a much smaller room with with a huge insect painted on the wall...not fun.

No place to rest! All they long the lobby is a night club vibe - loud, crowded, dark. I understand its THE THING of the hotel, but that was unpleasant. If you want to have a quite moment in the morning or after a long day, it's not your place.
Great location, clean, well designed, good coffee, nice places to dine (but expensive).

There is a kettle in the room but no milk.
The lobby area is cool, great location and staff really helpful & friendly. If you want a relaxed, hip vibe this is the place for you. There's even a record player & guitar in the room!
April 8, 2015
This isn't the hotel's fault but the stories of NYC being loud are true, bring earplugs no matter how high up you are!
All ACE hotels cater for the creative. You get all the perks and comforts of staying in an upmarket hotel but with a cooler more chilled vibe. Stayed at the ACE in Palm Springs and London and it is always a wonderful experience!

We stayed in a small bunk bed room. The springs on the beds were covered with wood boards so beds were very stiff. Room was very hot in spite our setting the temp at lowest setting. Had to open window to make it bearable which brought in a lot of street noise. Lobby was always over crowded and it was impossible to find a seat in spite of abundant number of sofas and chairs. People seamed to camp out there and never leave. Always a long line to stump town coffee. Had to go elsewhere when I had to grab a quick cup on the go.
The atmosphere was very young and hip. Jazz playing in lobby. Check in desk was very friendly.
April 7, 2015
The room I had on the first night was VERY small ('Mini') and had a window out onto the street, which was quite noisy. My second room was a 'Small' and was much larger, for not a whole lot more cash. If there's more than one of you, definitely upgrade to Small or above.
Loved the buzzy lobby bar, the free no-hassle wifi throughout the hotel, the extremely comfy beds, the staff who were friendly and helpful at all times. Food & drinks were great. The Breslin and John Dory restaurants also both destinations in and of themselves.
April 4, 2015
Sehr lebendiges, cooles , Hotel. The place to be! In der Lobby immer was los, coole Musik, freundliches, unkonvetionelles Personal.
April 4, 2015
Staff was great! Good location. Room was comfortable and all I needed.
April 4, 2015
Everything you need in vicinity (Stumptown, cute gift shoppes, the BEST restaurants ... Breslin is amazing).
April 1, 2015
Dog barking directly across the hall. Owner put a note on the door saying he would be back later; and only then the dog would stop barking. ??!! Techno music in lobby and the plugged-in crowd occupying every possible seating opportunity was overwhelming.
Convenience to Penn Station Hip decorative accents, loved the guitar Oyster bar
