Train to close,no hair dryer, coffee pot ,no ice,no iron no breakfast
Inexpensive for area. Mostly clean and not too run down.
Located CLOSE to train track, which passes by (along with an accompanying LOUD WHISTLE) at 3:30 am and again at 5:00 am. If you have trouble getting back to sleep after being awakened (and you will be), this may not be the place for you.
I like the beds and the water pressure in the shower. the room very clean and low rates . Best of all across the street a café and bakery to die for.
Location is great. Price is right
I liked that it was so cheap and easy to find.
It didnt have a deadbolt.
Price was reasonable. Room was clean. Nice area.
Room was warm, even with air on high, due to location of AC unit. Ac Was in kitchen area, not bed room area.
Everything worked. Well maintained.
Barebones furnishings. No coffee.
Don't know as we were not on the property.
My 83 year old mother seriously injured herself the day before arrival, and could not even get out of bed - much less into a car - to travel to Black Mountain. I called both the proprietor (first) and Booking.com (secondly) 25 hours in advance of arrival to cancel and see if there was any chance of a refund due to this emergency. The proprietor informed me that I would need to contact Booking.com, who clearly stated they would refund if the proprietor allowed. Putting me on hold, they contacted him and were told he would not. This was less than ten minutes since I had talked to him personally. Obviously he passed the buck but had no intention of crediting us due to the emergency. The room sat empty (or the proprietor made double money off of filling it). I will NEVER book with the Acorn Motel again, and since I visit the area yearly, will also tell anyone else not to do so. Additionally, I will strongly hesitate to (read: very likely never) use Booking.com again, as while I appreciate their willingness to accommodate the emergency, a 48 hour advance cancellation is ridiculous.
Soft Towels. Microwave and refrigerator.
Very Old Motel. No Up grades. Dirty fingerprints on door. sticky floor. This motel should have been a $35 a night room not a $70.
Super clean, quaint, awesome town, motel very close to Pisgah brewing venue
In our 4 nights there, there was no cleaning or service. I exchanged a very torn towel for a thin untorn one. We had to request toilet paper. Minimal services were simply not available.
Lots of space price location
No extra pillows No blankets small towels
Linnens Non Changed Old Stale smell
the air conditioner was located in a small room next to the main room, so it took almost the wee hours of the morning for the bedroom to cool down.
Staff was super nice and the location was great. We didn't want to stay in chimney rock because of the cost but found this place only about 30 mins away and it was surrounded by mountains. The drive didn't bother me either because the view was amazing. Acorn motel was small and quiet...nothing fancy but just enough to be comfortable and it was super clean. Yes it is older but I definitely felt like it was worth the money to stay there and I will go back in the future.
It was older but because it was well kept, this was not an issue.
It was cool and quiet. Great location.
The mattress was really hard.
stuffy room, air conditioning unit smelled when turned on. holes in sheets overall poor for the price.
Convenient location. Clean, older motel. Breakfast spot just across the street with gluten free bisquits. The motel room fee was affordable.
If your OK with no frills, this is your kind of place. Right from the 60's in decor, but to be expected.
Great hotel for a cheap vacation!
Location was close enough to downtown, room was clean - just basic simple room to stay overnight. Nothing fancy.
Very clean! Perfect location! GREAT shower! Cool breakfast place directly across the street! We loved it and had a wonderful time. Will definitely stay here again. Best value in a hotel ever! Enjoyed the retro feel of our room with the teal bathroom tiles too. Thanks!
No frills just has what you need. Awesome breakfast cafe across the street
Could not turn on the bathroom light without a light in the main room going on.
The hotel was inexpensive, clean, and convenient. It is just a short walk to the shops, restaurants, and pubs in Black Mountain. A great visit! The couple who operates the motel were incredibly helpful.
This property is a 50s style one story motel but is clean and convenient and a good value for the price. Nothing fancy, nothing terrible.
its an older Motel but it seemed fine for me seemed clean
