We are members of the Marriott hotels since decades and decided to try out this time a different hotel. We liked this one very much location is excellent since almost everything can we reaches by walking. Staff very friendly breakfast and bar area great.
The beds were comfortable. It is a pet friendly hotel. Good view of the city. Close to shopping and attractions.
Some of the staff was friendly, but others weren't. construction made it a bit hard to locate, no notification that they were having construction going on. only parking is Valet parking which was $45 a night. wouldn't have been bad if they could accommodate a majority of their customers, but it was very small with first come first serve. The area is very busy and full of homeless folks (Union Square) and wouldn't recommend parking on the street so more valet parking would have made my stay stress free. everything in the hotel cost money to use. the corkscrew for wine was $8 if we used it.
It's a stylish hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice. Lovely rooms. The location was excellent.
Location and price
Breakfast was very poor, they didn't have espresso and not a good selection of fresh options. Not flexibility at the check out for 2pm, otherwise charging half day rental, and not friendly when requested Carpet in the rooms a bit smelly Concierge didn't know about good restaurants to suggest Work construction happening and therefore very noisy and dusty
So during our stay some genius decided to smoke on the stairway at 3 in the morning. This set off the alarms and everyone had to evacuate the building. Since the ventilation was not the best in the stairwell the alarm kept going off every 20-30 mins. They didn't have cameras and so never got to know who did it. They offered me $50 off my hotel bill but only after I asked. The facility was pretty good. A little pricey but other than the one incident we didn't really have much complaints. The location was good and the facilities were clean.
I enjoyed the coffee in the room off the lobby. As we were sipping ours, an employee came through and gave us a muffin! Everyone was very helpful.
Great location, very comfortable. Very helpful staff on reception.
Parking is $49 per night and do not expect to be able to change more than US$200 per day of travellers cheques in the hotel.
Location is very good
Location, parking, coffee in the loby!!!
We had the king bed with pull out. My husband and I an 17yr old daughter stayed 5 nights. Bed and Pillows comfy. Thank The Lord. They even had a portable fan that we borrowed. We sleep with one every night. The whole staff is Very friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed our stay very much. Workout room is very nice also. Nice hot coffee avail free 24/7 in lobby.
Quite big rooms. Nice atmosphere and good style in a vintage building. Breakfast was great and most of staff were customer friendly and suportive. Great locations downtown.
Expensive parking at USD50 per night
Located pretty centrally in San Fran. Walking distance to the Pier. Hotel was nice, but it is an old venue. It was clean and staff was very helpful. We didn't eat or have drinks in the hotel, so I can't comment on that.
Did not like the pillows. Way too soft and mushy for my taste. Also, the parking was not cheap.
The hotel was very clean. The room had a lot of space. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic.
The location of the hotel was congested and the neighborhood was dirty.
The room was spacious enough for the location and money! Overall it was a good experience.
We only stayed 2 nights and we didn't get the room cleaned after the first night. :(
Great location! Loved the refreshing water in the lobby, large rooms, very nice and accommodating staff.
the fitted sheet was not fitted to the bed, it was just layed on top. Weird.
The rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable, and staff were pleasant and talkative, especially in the Mortimer bar on the main floor.
The area that Adagio borders on (Tenderloin) is the practical slums. This shows how the changing area with Union Square, for good or for bad, has some dangers. Once in hotel or directly outside of it, you are safe and sound.
Location, Location, Location - excellent food options within walking distance, transport a few small blocks away. Recommend eating at The Daily Grill down the road for dinner. Inexpensive and excellent seafood.
San Fransisco accommodation is generally more expensive than anything comparable in other cities, almost on par in terms of cost with New York. However that is just the way it is with limited rooms in town in reasonable locations.
Nice facility courteous staff fast service with addressing my needs (room fixing, valet,check-in/out, housekeeping) Quiet at night
No pool beggards hang around the street phone line did not work shower cold/hot was reversed No ice machine on floor
The staff was very nice. The interior design was done well. We have a nice room with lots of windows.
The food in the bar was fair. We ordered a pizza margharita and it was tasteless. Don't like when you have to pay for wifi The area became a bit spotty that far up on Geary.
Very clean, stylish hotel with really nice pool and bar area with floor to ceiling glass in the rooms
No free wifi but I came to learn that is normal in America
nice rooms, nice location, perfect close to the city
The staff was extra-ordinary...I liked Mortimer's ...thought the food and drinks were exceptional. In fact, I had friends meet us there and we wound up staying right there...it was so good. Location perfect to get around San Francisco - restaurant suggestions given by the concierge and staff were all excellent.
I know it's Marriott's policy but I hate paying for the INTERNET!!! Particularly when you are paying the rates you do -- Holiday Inn is FREE...just a bug-a-boo I have always had with Marriott even though I am loyal to the brand.
