눉The one criticism I have of the place was the shared bathroom on the second floor. It is inconsistent with the rest of the hotel because it appears not kept well (sink needs to be ditched entirely, the toilet paper holder was broken). But this is minor compared to the overall impression. I would return and recommend to others for a romantic weekend or just stopping by.
눇I stayed here with 2 colleagues while we were attending a convention at the Hilton, exactly 3/4ths of a mile away. I hate brand hotels, this place was a complete gem tucked away in a very residential, quaint, tree-lined part of town with supermarkets, restaurants, and cafes. I wish the GM would have some historical information about the buildings up, because clearly they are historic, have a very cozy and "old" (in a good way!) feel. There are common sitting rooms with couches, books, TVs, as well as a kitchen area, breakfast area where they serve a very ample spread of cereals, croissants, yogurt, bagels, all kinds of spreads like Nutella and peanut butter. The rooms themselves have a homey feeling that is inviting, and appeared clean. The staff seriously could not be more welcoming and friendly--all young, very helpful.
