The area is a little bit scummy. Parking is super expensive and a pain in this area. Cheapest we found is $30/night.
Rooms clean and comfortable but a bit small because of huge bed.
Easy walking distance to Union Square, Financial District and with a little more effort only because of the hills Fisherman's Wharf. Public transportation available right outside the lobby.
Location, and staff were very helpful.
Breakfast area is too small, only several tables We were told it's quite close to unsafe area so we girls didnt go out late in night The Taxi hotel helped book asked us to pay 10 dollars more than what hotel told us - 55 dollars to airport
10 mins walk to Union Square Bedding is comfortable Breakfast is included
The complimentary breakfast was great!
The bathroom was old and needed to be renovated, the walls were paper thin. We could here people in the next room until 2:30 am giggling
The bed was comfortable
Sort of Sketchy Neighborhood Day or Night Due to homeless population, Like right on the edge of good & bad Water did not get Super Hot Very Basic breakfast yogurt, fruit, bread & coffee/tea!
Walking distance to everything Really comfortable beds Secure & Safe
The parking situation was super irritating. In theory they have valet parking, but in reality, it's easier to park in a separate lot on schlep your bags to the hotel.
The towels smelled nice.
The walls were paper thin and dome guests were too in the night
Location price clean Good service
The room is really small, there is no space to put your suitcase anywhere; we had a window but the view was on the walls of the next building only one meter away - it was awful. We couldn't open it because there were a lot of pigeons above it. So there was a really bad air in the room. The wifi didn't work sometimes.
Good location, near Union Square. The breakfast was ok.
Relatively quiet and private :)
the room was too small
the bed was comfortable
I didn't like that I thought parking was included. I picked this hotel based off that factor. Spending an additional $30 could have increased my options I was looking at. Many don't in the city. This indicated that it was included not just that it was available.
It was located near a lot of things, this was a plus.
Window View, parking fees seemed unreasonable
Friendly Service, Cleanliness
The neighborhood is a little gritty but close to some good diners..however, try to find less tourist food places! You will pay less money
It was close to Union Square! It was in the middle of everything so travelling was easy.
I can't recommend, except location. Rooms are unbelivable old and ugly.
People was nice and kind.
Room was small but they made every effort to make it as nice as possible. Wi-Fi wasn't great and no service in the room for phone calls.
Excellent location. Cozy and comfortable
Worst wifi ever. 2 horrible nights because of the guests next to us. They were very noisy and the staff didn't do anything by theirselves.
The best is the location and the shower. Iron and Coffee maker in the room.
My water did not get hot, had to shower in cold water x2.......Not enough towels in bathroom ....worst of all was having to pay to park vehicle and payed 45 $ then had to also psy about 60$ for public transportation ...would have been nice to at least get a coupon or voucher for parking, food or public transit to warf....
It was very cozy and comfortable, clean and the bed was ssooooooo perfect...
The wifi was really slow. Breakfast was not that good with not a lot of food options, no water available at breakfast.
The location and the interior design.
BED WAS SUPER COMFY NICE DECORATIONS VERY FRIENDLY STAFF
Staff was probably the worst part of staying here. Not friendly or welcoming, always acting like it was a huge inconvenience to do their job. We stayed on an unusually warm weekend in sf, our room was really, really hot and stuffy. We asked for a fan at 11am and when we returned to the room not only was there no fan, they had turned on the heat in the room, so it was 10x hotter than the night before!! When we called the front desk to ask about a fan, their response was "all the fans are being used right now." They had 0 explanation for why they turned the heat on and why they didnt honor our request for a fan we made early in the day.
Location was good, as long as you don't cross O'Farrell street into the heart of the tenderloin. Hotel was older, but relatively clean - no musty old spells or stains on the carpet.
Room was noisy when next door neighbours were in and wifi didn't work very well, sometimes at all. Breakfast offering was poor and unhealthy.
Good distance to BART and the Union Square + the shops. Availability of breakfast a plus, although not a very healthy breakfast.
Location was good if you're prepared to walk (as we were) but still relatively close to union square and the Bay Area.
Initially had room at front of hotel, and noise level was fine with the window closed. But with the room warming up and needing to put the fan on, and therefore the warm air needing to go somewhere, I had to open the window at 1am to help cool the room down. Bye, bye sleep! Traffic was fine, but with people yelling in the street and the garbage being picked up at 5:30am a good nights sleep was certainly missing. Worst was being told off by front desk that I should have 'come down during the night to let them know' - they would have changed the room. Anyhow - the situation was rectified and I had a lovely, quiet, much larger room at the back and slept soundly the second night (with the window open).
Booking and checkin were done without an issue. Hotel was clean and recently updated (although in places this could have been done better). Plenty of parking opportunities within a few hunderd yards of hotel (obviously with sf prices). Room at the back of the hotel was wonderfully quiet. Would stay again, should I have to stay over for work in sf.
