Room was next to the elevator, very noisy at times.
I had a number of grumbles: lifts took ages to come; free Wifi only in common area; my bed was hard and uncomfortable; a buzzing sound through the night and the blinds that did not black out the windows interrupted my sleep.
My room was large and the hotel's location is excellent, a block behind St Patrick's Cathedral. The "Happy Hour" daily free drink was in theory a nice touch, but arrive early if you want somewhere to sit!
No free Wifi in room
The WiFi is about $15 a day, same as all the other hotels in the area - which does seem a little steep. Don't forget there are 3 Starbucks within a 2-5 minute walk offering slow, but free WiFi if you just need a little Google or to send a few short emails. As with most hotels in America, there is no direct ceiling lighting, making it difficult to use the huge mirror in the room for make up or hair.
The location is excellent, one street from the train station with both the 6 and E trains - that will get you to almost every tourist destination, as well as direct from the AiRTrain at JFK. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The Beds are ridiculously comfy! We had a 2 bed room - which would happily accommodate 2 Adults and 2 children, possibly 4 adults if you don't mind being a little low on space. Housekeeping was everyday, no matter what time we left the room. The fridge is also a welcomed touch.
Location and cleanliness
The only discomfort was that the WC was located too close to the washing spot at oom 1514
On arrival my card was taken in order for a 'hold' to be put on for the payment. The receptionist stated there was a problem with my card and attempted twice more to take the hold. It was left this way and noting more was said to me throughout my stay. At check out I was told there was a hold of over double what the full amount should've been. The receptionist stated this would be returned to my card and took the correct payment. The money was not returned until 10 days after I returned. I was unhappy as I had to keep transferring money into my card card account due to the 'hold' on my payment. Other than that aspect, I would HIGHLY recommend Fifty Affinia to anyone travelling to New York City
The location was great for transport links and even for taxi rides further downtown. The staff were helpful. The room was comfortable and warm. Possibly over compensated with warmth due to the time I talked and the snow outside.
sofa bed, wait at checkin
Location, size of room
location, accessibility to my meeting venues.
The only thing I would say is our windows were a bit drafty (It was the coldest week of the year) and they wouldn't really lock tight against the wind. The WiFi in the rooms should be free in this day and age but at least they offered it in the lounge.
The JR Suite was beautiful and well equipped. We enjoyed "wine hour" in the lounge each night. Great location, helpful staff and very clean and comfortable. We will stay here again for sure.
not a thing
Friendly staff, clean facility, have nothing bad to say...
location service easyness
Could not find the gym and there was no staff around in early morning to show me.
Comfy beds and nice staff. Wine in wine hour was good =)
Room not was not clean. No soap on the bathroom and no coffee/creamer for the coffemaker
The hair drier could be replaced. The carpeted floor was not so clean as expected in a newly renovated room but as we come from Sweden we are not used to use shoes indoor.
Good location close to subway, restaurangs and shopping. Nice with free wine hour. Wi-fi in club lounge was good. Comfortably rooms(guestroom w 2 beds) with enough space for 2 adults and 2 children (9 and 12). Fridge in room. Housekeeping was good.
Aparthotel - no restaurant (there are many nearby), facilities are that of a good 3-star hotel or a 4-star hotel.
Location is great, prices are moderate for NYC, some rooms relatively recently renowated
Having to pay for Wifi. There are 2 computers in the lobby, free if you want to print your airline boarding pas.
Hotel recently renovated.
the room was cold and the heat did not really make it any warmer. Hard to get cozy when you are cold. I tried to change rooms and got the same results. towels look used room was basic .
Price and location made this property attractive.
on my last day arguing guests at 6.30am was unfortunate. could hear next door guests talking in the bathroom. coffee and tea was not always available in the club room during the day.
front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. location is very convenient. the room is cosy and big enough to eat, work and sleep in.
Could be more amenities in bathroom such as magnifying mirror for makeup and q tips, shoe cloth.
Staff extremely helpful and accommodating. Comfort and cleanliness excellent. Location location!
Noisy, even though we specifically requested a room in a quiet area. Street noise kept us awake even though we were on the 12th floor, because of the poor soundproofing. Elevator "dinged" whenever it arrived, could hear people in the next room and in the hallway. Tried to run the HVAC fan all night to mask the noise but it made the room too warm. Guess this isn't uncommon because earplugs were available in the nightstand.
Good size room for NYC and large bathroom. Nice bed and pillows. Good tv and convenient recharging outlets on side of shared night stands. Very friendly doormen and front desk staff.
When I went to the second floor for coffee (as recommended at check-in) there were breakfast items and no staff present. I took a small bowl of yogurt, ate it, but as I was leaving, a staff person appeared to tell me I should pay $17! I mentioned this at my checkout so don't know if they actually charged me or not. Not happy as it looked all complimentary to me!
Location, room accommodations, most of the staff members.
Was over charged $600... It was all figured out and it was a mistake on the hotels part. I am awaiting refund but it was a mistake so it's understandable! just be a little more careful.
Great location, very inviting and chic/ comfortable. Staff was very courtesy and friendly!
No early morning access to second floor lounge. I like to read between 6 and 7 am. Lounge opens at 7:30am
The location. Room size and quality. Similar rooms in other nearby hotels go for double the price. This hotel is a great value.
