Affinia 50  

Our apartment was spacious, light filled, very comfortable and clean. We loved having a kitchen and dining room, because we were able to have many meals "at home" after long and busy days. The staff were lovely to us, particularly Gloria at the front desk, Danuta who cleaned our room and Rome who worked at the entry lobby. We were never disturbed and everyone was polite and helpful to us at all times.

Although we were only affected a couple of times, I don't think it is good policy to renovate a building with paying guests. Had we been ill or needed "time off" from being tourists it would have been unbearable in our apartment. We did experience that on one occasion when we returned home midafternoon to have a rest before going out that night. It was extremely unpleasant in our apartment and the earplugs fell very short in reducing the noise of jack hammers etc.

The hotel is renovated with new carpet and the bathrooms were also updated. The rooms have wooden floors and it seemed very clean. Staff is extremely friendly.

I couldn't get the air conditioning to work Our room stayed at 78 degrees all night. We ended up opening a window just to get some relief.

The front desk staff and doorman/men made the trip special. Everyone was very accomadating and friendly. The room was a great size for three. The shower pressure was strong which was very good. The beds were comfy. Very close to the tube.

The bathroom was small. The kitchen is grungy. I am glad you are updating as there is a lot of potential. The walk to times square was a bit further than I am used to. We had a friend with us and she could not walk comfortably.

It wa a very nice hotel for the money..felt like I was in a higher end hotel..the club room although we did not use it was very nice.

I understand the hotel is undergoing a major renovation so I look forward to returning to see the "new" Affinia 50. Location is excellent as is the Bell Staff, very attentive & friendly.

lots of space! Staff very prompt and professional. valet car fast. doorman wonderful about calling a cab. beds comfortable. nice neighborhood. close to bus and subway. walkable to theater and central park and 5 th ave.

very antiquated kitchen. horrible coffee maker. they could afford something better. microwave broken. outdated bathroom, too small for such a big suite that easily slept 4 adults.

Good location, walk to Time Square and Broadway. Good size rooms, though a bit dated. Free wifi from club level but not free in your room. By close to subway and a cheap resturant strip. Doormen always on duty.

Location is excellent, staff friendly. Room size was big and comfy for 4 persons, but space is not exploted accordingly.

Kitchen was a disaster, pots and pans were really not according to what you pay. The sofa bed was uncomfortable. And decoration is from that 70 show. Needs remodeling. Very mportant they charge for internet, really expensive and it is by computer, we had 4 devices plus cell phones they could charge us almost same room rate for the use of internet. Incredible in century xxi!!!!

Lovely customer service. Edwardian and Alexander and both porters, cleaning staff were excellent. I am a trainer of world class customer service and the staff certainly are world class making the stay more pleasurable during renovation.

Renovation, however staff certainly compensate for any incovienance.

As foreigner we could get tips how to make the sight seeing the most effective.

The room we got (202) was very poor and noisy. I would have appreciate to make me as a foreigner aware of this and of the fact that the room doesnot have a street view, but a view. I am disappointed and sorry to have stayed there

The hotel is great and very convenient to transfer from Newark Airport. The neighborhood is lively with wide choice of restaurants and shopping. As a solo traveler, I was glad to have a popular neighborhood with a nice bar at the Benjamin and a doorman at the hotel. Queen suite was incredibly spacious and appliances were new. Mini-bar well-stocked with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Bathroom has a bathtub which after a long day of walking in the February city made return to the hotel a joy. Excellent water pressure. nice TV.

Because the hotel is in NYC, I did not have time to try the welcoming 'comfort hour' from 6 to 7 pm. I also did not try the fitness center.

Affinia is beautifully located for Broadway and shopping. It has a modest boutique feel to it which I prefer over the massive Waldor Astoria one block away.The staff is very courteous and the doormen are jovial and helpful. The mattresses are to die for. I remembered them from 5 years ago.After so much walking we slept the sleep of the gods in great comfort.I'll return to Affinia 50.

We loved everything about the Affinia 50. The staff was awesome. The gentleman working the doors remembered my name which is amazing being that there were so many guest at the hotel and from check in to check out they remembered my name.

Heat worked when it wanted to.

Had to change my dates due to the snow storm and rates were much higher without possibility of cancellation. Not very friendly to a frequent guest.

I was impressed by the moment I opened the door, the room was big, clean and very very comfortable. I really loved my staying, next time my sister's family are staying in the same hotel they just loved it as well ! I was also very surprised with the website, because they showed me something , and I was expecting less, but it was the opposit , I got even better. I am very happy with the hotel and with Booking.com Thank you very much !!!!!

I have nothing bad to say ..... I just regred I didn't get the name of the guy opens the door at the lobby at night! I wish I could thank him more ! He really made us feel at home. All of the staff couldn;t have been more helpful. The room was much bigger than we expected with a massive king size bed and decent sized bathrroom. Doormen were expecially nice and welcomed us 'home' every night. Location is great, its a midtown hotel so 10-15 minute walk to Times Square. Subway is really easy to use aswell with stations not very far from the hotel. Grand central is just a short walk away. We were on the 19th floor so noise wasnt an issue - however they provided ear plugs in the room incase you felt you needed them. There is also a beautiful lounge on the second floor with free wifi that provides complimentary wine and snacks on a Tuesday and Thursday.

There isn't anything we didnt like about the hotel.

Price and location were great

Hvac did not work properly--way too hot, even after turning the heater off entirely; brown water came out of tub faucet so we purchased drinking water; towels were skimpy.

We loved our room and the staff. There was a man with an accent that parked our car and retrieved it who went out of his way to givedirections... Everyone was wonderfull!
