Some parts of the service;
The location (a bit far from everything) and you end up having to catch a cab; The rooms are old fashion and more functionnal than anything else; The bathroom is old and outdated;
the staff is very helpful and it was very convenient location.
My own apartment in great location
no restaurant in building.
Service was impeccable.
I can't come up with a negative
Great hotel with excellent service. Very clean with good accommodations. Bathrooms 5 stars.
There is nothing I could find fault with.
Rooms (former apartments) are a bit tired (very clean however). Windows are not very tight so be prepared for city noise (or use ear plugs provided by the hotel). Paid wifi? I created my own hotspot but others may find that to be an inconvenience.
All the reception, wake-up calls, food delivery, car rides services was amazing!
Location and hotel room (suite) very best we've stayed at in NYC. STAFF very helpful and kind....even though they were extremely busy. We will definitely come back.
We went there with a six month baby. The Affinia was a strategic hotel to visit NYC. The room was very big and confortable with a useful kitchen.
Huge bedroom, very comfortable bed. Location was good for us as we were near family.
No coffee or milk provided - buy your own from the 7-11 round thr corner.
I went to this hotel with a couple of friends. When we entered, it was perfect. We got excited about the big bathroom, the fact that it had a kitchen( with good appliances), big beds and sofa bed. The safe in the closet, and the iron.
The excitement didn't last lkng. About a minute in, we realized the tv wasn't working. When we called the front desk, the lady simply said, unapologetically, or even showing any willingness to help, "well, our service suppliers are having a problem. I don't know if the tv will be back on. " lie. It wasn't sayyin "no service" it just simply had no service. On the bill/quote, it says they offer wifi, cable tv, movies, room service, hypoallergenic pillows. But trust me. Non of these were offered. We asked for the pillow and the lady said no extra pillows. Ofcourse there was no tv, and for room service? They said we had to call the restaurants our selves (did you forget to mention this, when you said you offer room service?) So we called. Wen we got the bill, they had charged us for calling, and for having the food delivered(on top of the restaurant's fees and all) All in all, i felt lied to and robbed. And I usually never worry about how i spend my money/ or how much i spend. Did I mention; the towels were dirty. My initial excitement quickly turned into disappointment. Never going back.
Friendly staff. Near where I needed to be for work (Park Avenue). The paid WiFi worked well.
I didn't need two double beds, a sofa, a kitchen and a giant bathroom. But these would all be great things for a group of people traveling together. Not for a solo business traveler.
We loved the location, easy to get anywhere. Quiet street. The staff were friendly and helped us numerous times on how to get to places, organising tours and cars for airport. We enjoyed our stay and would recomend affinia gardens.
Room excellent size with nice view over gardens. Female receptionist extremely helpful and helpful.
One rather miserable reception male member of staff.
big rooms good beds and TV good location near grocery and Starbucks clean
small lobby expansive WIFI
Love staying at this hotel. Our room was very spacious and clean, beautiful layout, kitchen facilities excellent. It must be said being on the upper east side it's expected, right? Loved it All.
The hotel corridors were entirely too cold for the temperature outside. Too too cold, complained several times but nothing was done. Sure they could save on energy costs if they reduced the air conditioning. Also, there is a little noise from the trash trucks early in the morning, but, you can't win them all in NYC!
The location in Upper East Side is wonderful--quiet yet walkable distance to Metro and close to convenience shopping. The pillows are wonderful.
Twice during our 4-night stay we left out the Please Tidy Up sign, only to find the room as we left it. The first time this happened, the room was cleaned after we reported this to front desk. Room was tidied when we left for dinner but housekeeper failed to replenish the towels. Second time, front desk tried to blame us for leaving the door hanger the wrong way, which was NOT the case. Overall, seems there has been a change in mgt since our last stay and service is not as responsive. Also appearance is getting run down. Sad, because it is a fabulous location.
Very spacious room
Not renovated in a long time...
Location, staff, bedroom, kitchenette
For $14.95, wireless was very slow.
The staff are always with happy faces.
They need to provide some kind of breakfast in the lounge.
Pretty close to Central Park. They had "take-away" coffee in the mornings.
The picture not correct !We were "earlybirds" booked long before we went, picture shows a patio, and a bigger kitchen! False!! Picture too positive, not so frech in live! Kitchen not good, couldt reach the forks& knifes cause we couldt not get the box out, the gascookingplace was stuckning out!!!!!????? No breakfastplace.
The kitchenette was a real bonus with a young family. Shop was less than a block away so breakfast and dinners were easily self catered. Short walk to Central Park, couple of blocks from nearest subway.
Room was large & comfortable. Bathroom great. King bed very comfy.
Kitchen should b bettered stocked. Couldn't really do anything besides reheat something to make w cup of coffee. Internet was $15 a day & $ 7.50 a day for second device. When you are spending that much $ at a hotel should be free
