Affinias have the best hotel beds I've ever slept in
We had to wait 20 minutes to put our luggage in storage.
Good location for Penn station and being fairly central. Fresh and go almost next door was good for breakfast and sandwiches.
Noisy room, ugly and noisy air con. Not a great area with the side street having lots of homeless sleep there.
Location to Penn Station and Madison Square Garden was a big plus. The hotel's restaurant provided an excellent menu at reasonable prices.
The hotel lacked double glazing so we experienced a degree of outside noise related to building construction, emergency services, exhaust fans and church bells. Being located on floor 3 enhanced this. The bathroom facilities were tired. WiFi was only available in the lobby
It was right in the middle of it all
So noisy. Right next to a fire station. Was woken up every night at least once if not more by alarms The staff are so bad. Whenever I put up the do not distirb sign I would have cleaner walk in (a few times when I was in the shower) But there were other days my room would just not get made at all. Staff at front desk are super unfriendly and unhelpful. (Apart from one) Oh yeah and the rooms are rundown and kinda dirty.
location pleasant bar staff comfort cleanliness
lobby a bit cold paying for wifi in bedroom
This hotel is a great location for a first time in NYC- it's very central, staff are very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and service over all excellently.
My room was very noisy - it was like the window was open and could hear everything going on outside very Cleary which affected my sleep. Ear pugs didn't work at all. Wifi was very expensive and you have to add ontop of room cost which proved to be a little excessive considering I was there for 11 nights.
Location on 7th avenue Staff at reception we're helpful & Maureen on the concierge was very helpful.
Air conditioning was old fashioned & very noisy. Flies in the bathroom which remained despite a request to have them removed.
Only good point of hotel was location as was very central to everything you will need .
Room were very cold due to lack of heat from air con unit! Even after installing heater in room , were still cold!!!!!
Proximity to central Manhattan.
Nothing in particular.
Location was very good especially if you will attend anything in Madison Square Garden... Room was good. The retaurant was fine... Express check-out...
The shower area and toilet was small. Very noisy area... Even for high floors. Internet use is costly...
We loved the location of the hotel and found our way around really easily. This visit we did most of the attractions in Manhatten so on our next visit we want to spend more time down in the villages but will definately stay at the Affinia again. We liked that we could get a hotel car back to the airport at only 5$ more than a yellow cab.
The location was great and the bed was very comfortable.
No internet in the rooms, had to go downstairs each time I picked up my iPad.
Love the location. Perfectly situated for site seeing and shopping. Good value places to eat nearby or you can choose to self cater in the compact kitchen.
No problems at all. Everything was perfect.
Good for the subway and Penn station and walking to some sights and shops.
Booked 5 months earlier, direct with the hotel, deposit paid, we arrived to be told they had overbooked and though they had a room we would have to move. I requested a high floor 15th and above but this was ignored. The room was doors away ffrom a fire station with sirens wailing all night. Even if there was no street noise though, the hotel wrooms were still noisy in themselves because they have ventilations fans cut into the windows which howl all night long with the wind. Being first week of October, they don't have any heating on...irrespective of the weather or if the guest needs it. They do supply earplugs in all the rooms. On our return for one night we got the 27th floor upgrade to a 2 bed apartment which was still noisy and cold. They send you emails asking what [pillos you like...and all that other rubbish... but they don't bother reading them. So no matter that you ask for a high floor, or near a lift, nothing happens until you are right at the front desk. Some of the staff were great - Amanda on front desk for example, but the restaurant staff are so dozy you wouldn't believe it - whatever you ask, they forget. Hotel is grimy and needs renovating. Many hotels upgrade by having electric plugs in lamps by the bed but not this hotel.
Suite facilities are incredible for the price upgrade. NY is noisy but as soon as you close the bedroom door... silence! Room service from the restaurant, the steak is one of the finest I've had. Location is perfect for seeing all of NY, walking distance from many places and directly opposite Penn Station for travelling further.
Only staying a week, would definitely come back!
Tiny bathroom old dated room thats been redecorated but building is ancient. No fridge facility
Overall stay was good but......
Room size was too small!
location, price, size of the room
not clean, bathroom is very very very small and was not clean.
location excellent bar/restaurant room relatively quiet for 7th avenue kitchenette well equipped good value for money
room not very well cleaned coffee not replaced slow elevators bathroom/air con out of date and tired no free wifi charged to make a toll free call!! service elevator noisey early morning
The Lobby & the door man
The tiny room with tiny beds and one tiny window for the huge price of $430 per night!!! Will not be going back.
Great location in Manhattan for tourist sites and particularly, access to Penn Station.
Loved the location of the hotel. Great value for money. Yes the rooms and bathrooms are a bit small as other reviews have mentioned but if you are staying in Manhattan you are not spending a lot of time in your hotel room. Rooms are clean, modern and beds are comfy. The staff are extremely helpful and catered for our needs. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.
