Overall this was not an excellent hotel but there were few special things, like old rugs or the elevator with funny retro music, that create unique and cozy atmosphere inside. The reception is open 24 hours and staff is very helpful. The hotel is in the heart of the city and everything is so close that we used buses only to get to the airport. The breakfast was poor but there's a lot of cafes in the neighbourhood. Wi-Fi works only at lower floors. It's Market street so the life goes on even in the night and it's quite noisy there.

Dont think they clean after people leave. Floors especially. Sheets were pretty bad. Felt like someone had eaten crackers in the bed before us and sheets not changed. Pretty disgusting.

As a first-time visitor to San Francisco, location turned out to be good, as I could walk to a lot of the interesting sights in this wonderful city. The block where the hotel is actually located is not the nicest one. But just a couple of blocks down, it's perfectly fine.

The price of the hotel, one of the best in the city. The location is good. Not far from the main shopping areas. The question is that there are a lot of homeless people near the hotel but there is something that do not concern to the hotel staff. The cleaning. They changed the bed sheets after six days and do not hoover in the 14 days I have been to the hotel. The cleaners are not good in their job.

The room size & bathroom were very comfortable. There was an old musty smell to the room. It smelled like it needed a good airing out & some room spray. When I go home my packed clothes had the same smell & I had to wash everything immediately.

Cool elevator music, fun vibe, retro atmosphere. Shared bathroom and shower was clean. Donuts coffee and tea in the morning. Hotel is priced about right for what it is, which makes it good for travelers on a budget. All sorts of public transportation nearby. Location is good, a few blocks away from Union Square. Fairly safe area yet nice exposer to the wacky and gritty side of downtown sf. Payphone in the hallway. Who uses a payphone anymore? Invites some seedy characters off the street who use it to make anonymous calls, and it's annoying to hear people talking for hours to their faraway boyfriends (who've no doubt left them by now) from within the room. Wifi was nonexistent in the rooms, but worked in the lobby.

The hotel was ok, a bit old but with the amenities that you expect for the price. Its location was really good, there were a lot of homeless in the street at night, but in SF almost everywhere you go, you will see at least a couple. If you want to be located in downtown, near the financial center, chopping centers, city hall, it offers plenty. It is also very close to the metro and the BART which is very convinients if you want to have cheap transportation everywhere and specially the airport. the wifi worked only on the lobby, and the breakfast, you must go really early otherwise it will be just cofee and tea. Also, a bit of noise at night, but i think it is beacause it is a old hotel, still not a deal breaker if you are looking to save some money.

I prefer a place which is next to urban life and easiest to find stores nearby. Aida is everything, then, I have fun so much during all the time. People who had choice a small room like a "private and share bath" I don´t recommend cause they are small....

The cheapest one, in San Francisco. It was built in 1910s, it was look like they haven't repair a building. 8-stair building with elevator, it's awful! the elevator was really panic. Feeling scary, cuz... it is hard to explain...

The location of the hotel was great. It was right of the Civic Center Muni and Bart lines. The bedding and room were filthy. The shared bathroom even worse. This is the local hotel for the strip club employee (located next door), prostitutes, and local drug dealers. It was $30/day for a friend to visit your actual foom on top of the daily rate. The smell of insecticide was over whelming. I checked out of the hotel 15 min after I got to the hotel. I stayed down the street at the GoodHotel. I did not feel safe, secure, or clean at the Aida Plaza Hotel.

We got a family 'suite' which had two double beds. It was spacious and kept clean. There was a very unusual 'visitor' policy ( an additional 30$) which, given the location, makes me think they might have a prostitution problem.
