Strong cigarrette smoke smell in hallway

Felt like I was staying in a motel with a kitchen. Clearly part of a chain with staff earning minimum wage and showing as much interest as that entails.
Bed was good. A couple of desks with reasonable office chairs. Having a kitchen and full sized fridge was nice.

We did not appreciate the noise from the heating/cooling system the first night, the stained carpet and the low toilet seat (we requested an ADA accessible room). The towels were smelly and ruff, we used our own towels and covered the carpet with their ruff towels.
There was a parking space every night and a pot of hot coffee, cereal and fruits every morning.

Training staff members during New Years Eve Check in. Over worked and over loaded. No mangers present on duty. Lack of ice machine Very Cheap Towels Someone had left Shrimp in the freezer, which had caused a smell that engulfed the entire room once it was open. Smoking room was given even though requested Non Smoking
The Bed was fine.

WiFi access code illegible. Took Z as 2. When asked was told my error for entering wrong character. New: No dishes etc in kitchen. Had to go to desk to get what was needed. New: No regular coffee creamer. All heavily sweetened stuff. New: Key cards would not hold. Had to be re-done every day. After booking was flooded with email discount offers which were not good for the stay I just booked.
Regardless of what appear to be cost saving changes this is still a good value for the money. Lovely location, off the beaten path but not hard to find.

I really liked how we were next to the water. It was beautiful, and also it was our first experience in an earthquake. That was a bit scary, but now we know what to do. Very good hotel. Wouldn't have picked a better one.

The room I reserved was non-existent. Reserved a king room, received a confirmation, arrived to be told no kings were available. Evidently, in this hotel, reserving a room type is merely a "request". I've never experienced such a bait and switch in all my years of travel.
The accommodations were fine, but not what I reserved.

I booked through booking.com and I was certain I booked a non-smoking room. I guess I didn't and as a result I ended up on a smoking floor. 2 days into my stay I did notice a stale smoking smell and after being told I was on a smoking floor I was able to change to a first floor room. In this room I found the bathroom shower to have several caulked filled holes. And I did feel that the towels were not a clean looking as I would of liked. When I realized I had left some socks in my other room I went to the front desk to inquirer. At first I was greeted with a non-chalant attitude from the front end as to help ing me retrieve them. I left to feel that they were lost. Then I received a call that maybe they had found them. I felt that my first request should of been met with a more helpful attitude. I guess I didn't realize when booking the room that I was not going to get cleaning services unless I upgraded or payed for it. This was my first such experience.
The location was close to family that I was visiting.

Not enough staff, often have to wait 5/10 minutes for service so that attendant can finish laundry etc. No shampoo in rooms, rock hard beds. Been a regular once a month for the last year for work, only reason I chose to stay with you guys in location. Would be happy to pay an extra 20 for nicer ammenities. Feels more like a dorm. I travel a lot, a good business model is Hampton inn and suites paso robles

What I didn't like was booking through booking.com, then arriving at the hotel.....only for the hotel to tell me that they didn't have a reservation for me...and that they had no rooms available. Graduation weekend....I didn't get to bed until after midnight in south bay. Most hotels had no vacancies. I drove and drove and stopped at every hotel....finally found one room in San Mateo.

Dirty worn room. Noisy fridge and air com. Bored reception staff who took a long time to answer bell at front desk and check in. No restaurant or amenities within walking distance. Cost was higher than better local hotels. Would not ever use this place for an extended stay

Everything. We checked in and was given a smoking room despite our request through Booking.com for a non-smoking room. When in the room, it smelled and was unkept. Walls had chipped paint, the telephone wasn't working (even though we made sure it was plugged in correctly, and the pillows smelled like someone's unwashed hair. We went back to the front desk and asked to be switched, and was basically told that there is nothing they can do to accommodate us -- not even a deodorizing spray for the room like some, more reputable hotels would have offered. Needless to say, we checked in, saw the room, and checked out -- all within 20 minutes of our arrival. At that point, we would rather risk homelessness than stay in that hotel. It was a very disappointing experience.
