Adjacent to the historic Alamo and steps from San Antonio's popular River Walk area, this historic hotel offers a full-service spa and guest rooms furnished with modern amenities.
Score from 555 reviews Very good
The location very close to River Walk.
The shower nozzle in the room would not adjust, Hit you right in the face.
Front desk friendly
Reportedly understaffed room not ready until after 630 pm. Bathrooms visibly dirty. Carpeting smelled like moldy wet socks.
The location is perfect, just 5 min away from riverwalk
The quality of the room is low, is very expensive for the quality that is has. The bed is not confortable at all.
My room was non smoking smelled like smoke
The location of this hotel is wonderful, and the room was clean with a good bed. Fast wifi and a nice open shower.
Beware: I booked a king, and they gave us a single double bed. My boyfriend and I were disappointed to say the least. Definitely call the reservation in to ensure the correct room. Also know that they charge for daily parking- 15 bucks per day. Don't pay in cash for parking as we did- they tried to say we hadn't paid at check-out (it was resolved but not worth the hassle). There is no mini fridge and the ice machine was broken, so bring a cooler if you need to keep food/medicine on ice.
Location was great. An older hotel, but nice and clean. We don't go on vacation to stay in a hotel room.
Did not have the reservation that was set up through booking.com. The front desk had to look up an available room. Cost $40.00 more than booking.com quoted. Will not use them again.
CLose to everything.
Paying for parking. I can see paying if you just wanted to park and walk every where but to be a guest and your already paying to sleep there it doesn't seem right.
The location was great, a block from the Alamo, River Center Mall and Riverwalk. The staff was very nice. It's an older property that could use updating. Looking for a place to rest only? This works.
4 blocks from the convention center and river walk
was right by the highway and was noisy
I really liked how close the hotel was to the Alamo and the River Walk
close to Alamo
I can only begin to list the issues: moldy shower curtain sticky gooey red substance in the carpet bathtub, sink ceramic cracked and stained no soundproofing wind blows into room around door toilet doesn't flush, tub does't drain normally
Great quality and location for a great price
The location was pretty good and the updated room was nice looking.
The wifi was awful, leaving us with no connection or a poor connection throughout the majority of our 2 day stay. We were forced to use our own data or my mobile hotspots to get online. Although the room was updated, complete with a flat screen tv, microwave and mini fridge, the new digs didnt make up for the poor lighting. The room was VERY dark despite all of the lights being on. Furthermore, the lack of usable electrical outlets was frustrating and we often found ourselves having to prioritize our devices that needed charging. We were happy to have a microwave but its use required that it be moved from the work desk to the nightstand due to the aforementioned power source issue. The area where continental breakfast was served was tiny and crowded so we skipped it due to the uncomfortable proximity to one another. The decision to visit the vending machine instead was likewise a disappointment considering that a debit or credit card was the only accepted form of payment. The only option for laundry was to send off to housekeeping at $7 per load since there was no guest laundry facility on site. The straw that finally broke the camel's back was when we noticed the bedbugs crawling all over the bed!! This explained the many red, swollen and itchy welps which had begun appearing on my skin!! Horrified, we called the front desk at 1:30 am to report this atrocity and the response was, "Uhm... (insert long pause) ... do you wanna check out now?" What?! The bottom line after our 2 night stay at the Days Inn on E. Houston St: we will not EVER return!! !
Rooms were nice.
Staff seemed stressed and stretched thin. We're not very friendly. Couldn't wait on customers because they were busy doing other business. Continental breakfast was lame. Didn't even have waffles. I had to ask them restock every little thing. Vending machines didn't work. Hated to pay for parking at the very place I was staying. Seems like I paid for the room, parking should come with it... Wifi was slow and didn't work half the time.
It's in walking distance to the Riverwalk, very clean, spacious, and affordable.
Bad WiFi reception.
Very, very close from the Alamo and the river walk. If it's ok for you less then average hotel.. take it! Not high class but worth the price
The lady at the reception didn't even tell us our room was in the other building. Didn't seem like wanted to work than day. Bathroom small.
very good location. cheap, clean and worth the money.
Breakfast is not as good as we expected. However, there is a Denny's which is very close to the youthhostel.
good location good price
bad wifi poor breakfast lights in room are all broken - room very dark not enough power outlets and working space bad for business travelers
Good value for the money.
Not the newest of hotels.
The cleaning service never shows up in my room even when my family and I were out all day long. UK Actually, after we complain about this, manager didn't solve anything until we suggest her to move us to another room, this really upset me due to I traveled with my children (5 and 4 years old) and this happened around 11 P.M, when they were really tired and we had to wait for a solution from the manager around 1 hour, until, as mentioned, we told her what to do.
Good accommodation for price, close to al atraction,The Alamo and river walk.
Cockroach in room.
The location was decent
The room was dirty. Had to kill a roach per day for every day that I was in the room.
The location of the room
I liked the location of the hotel.
I'm very disappointed at the staff for calling awrecker service to tow my vehicle away from the facility being that I was a paying costumer for Days Inn. Upon checking in the hotel, I was asked to provide a description of my vehicle in which I did so. I do not understand why a wrecker service was still called to tow my truck away after giving them the information they asked for. In all my years of traveling and staying at different hotels this has never happened to me before.
It was a excellent hotel to be at and a walking distance to the river walk (:
