The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and act like they enjoy their job. The doormen are the best I've seen.
There was only one elevator operating during a portion of my stay making it inconvienient. Also I should have been warned about the impact the may's parade would have on my checking out. We had to delay by several hours.
I loved the feel around the Algonquin. Th.e staff were very friendly The location and of course "Matilda" the cat
The small bedrooms. The traffic noise in the night but you just have to accept that its like that in NYC
Well located historical hotel for Fifth and Times Square. Staff very helpful ... free wifi and tea & coffee always available in reception.
Room a bit small ....and aircon system sounded like a truck had started up when it switched on !
This hotel is so perfectly situated in the heart of New York, The staff were so helpful and willing to assist with all queries. The décor and cleanliness was exceptional.
Level of service - had to call 3 times for every request Suite was not the one we booked
We like the location and the history of the hotel. Staff are very helpful and friendly.
Have always had a soft spot in my heart for the Algonquin Hotel, my parents honeymooned there 61 years ago! The staff is always very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is delightful, and the rooms are clean, comfortable and beautiful! We plan on making this a yearly trip.
1. The Round Table was a pathetic joke. 2. I was charged over $70 for a ten minute international call which should have been one dollar per minute. This made the visit stink.
Staff were charming Check in was quick and easy Room was good and clean if a little small.
The prices. It was all very expensive
Very comfortable. Friendly staff.
Excellent location, well appointed room & lounge/restaurant, excellent staff, great cocktails, generally a very good 'New York boutique hotel experience'
Room was small with very small bathroom. No fridge or coffee making facilities. Coffee was available but five floors down & sometimes the (also very small) lift took a few minutes
Every thing was excellent and the staff was awsom
Old world charm, nice room, great bed
Rather noisy a/c plant next door but it's the centre of NYC so what do you expect!
Great location, amazing lobby, helpful and gracious staff. An old building but spotlessly clean. Small but comfortable room. The staff is knowledgable and justly proud of the hotel's history.
Very slow, small elevators, really inadequate for such a busy hotel! We had to walk down from our room several times after waiting for elevators that never came. Although we enjoyed hanging out in the very comfortable lobby, the food and drink were very expensive, even for Manhattan. We quickly found less expensive places to eat near by.
Staff is excellent and friendly...i'd come back in the future...
This was our second stay at the Algonquin, the first being in December 2013. We feel welcome at the Algonquin. We found the staff friendly and helpful. We enjoy the bustle of the main lobby; the dinner and drinks were great. There is an overall feel of calm and comfort that is very nice.
Clean, excellent accomodations, excellent service, small but very comfortable
reading lights didn't work and we reported them but they were never fixed.
Staff was very accomodating
Rooms were a little small, but nice
All staffs are nice.I enjoyed staying with cosy atmospher. All the more, I finally met the fanous cat, matilda!
a little bit expensive for lonely journy.
The Algonquin gleams. Recent renovations have updated its facilities while preserving the woodwork and architecture, honoring its classic charm and literary history.
Fortunately, the room was kindly changed to a higher floor - much more quiet than one facing ventillators of the inner yard.
location and the rooms
rude and unwelcoming desk staff.
The location and the ambience are great. The hotel is comfortable with an old world charm.
The personnel left things to be desired. I had a problem with one of the windows in my room, which could not secure in the closed position, so it stayed always open and I barely got the front room to promise to have it fixed within the day.
no room service after 11pm would expect room service till 12pm, preferably 24hr at least for basic food and drink. bath robes were of very poor quality no stamps available at reception for posting mail, no offer to obtain any no money exchange facility
