Loud banging of doors in other rooms can be heard in our room.
Great location on boardwalk, Nice new building
No carpet makes for a lot of echo in the rooms and you hear people above you walking around. Ng:( Limited toiletries, ie: washcloths soap. The biggest is the ikea furnishings. Looks fine now but will fall apart in a month.
No tea making facilities
The boardwalk, closeness to the ocean and my work site on Long Island
Incompetent management, lousy service, very expensive, and you can't expect room-related issues to be addressed and taken care of in an efficient and timely manner unlike at most hotels. Parking is very limited and the price for valet parking is beyond ridiculous.
Hotel was pretty and lively but SO overpriced!
I could stay at a more luxurious hotel for the amont paid here and OMG the people next to us may have been in the room with us because of the horrible adjoining door!!
Clean and comfortable but you would expect that for a 4-star hotel at this price.
Came during off-season (early Oct) so pool and deck closed and no beach chairs or beach towels provided. This info not stated in the webpage so a bit of a surprise when weather was still quite warm and decent. Service could be better, especially reception on the way out! So recommendation - don't go there during off-season.
it's a very modern place and beautiful on the inside.
there were little things that didn't work great, like the phone, the toilet constantly running. And the TV.
Difficulty with the key cards every time I have stayed there. This time they finally issued an actual key to unlock the room door.
Bartender made our small gathering very special, food was good. My friends were content
Broken AC in living area. Maint had to be called 3 times to get a response. Nothing we can do. Problem is on roof? Ridiculous response from front desk , stay in bedroom area where AC works! Manager no where to be found when I wanted to ask question why? No room service in beefing or early am never answers phone. We are a Local couple came for very special evening. Left first thing in am. Total waste of money. Next time we'll NYC. Disappointed
It looks like a beautiful hotel... until you look really close
We arrived at the hotel about 3 hours after check-in time and our room was not ready. They said they needed to make sure the room was clean and we would have to wait a few moments. They finally got us a room. The room had clean sheets and towels, but that was it. the floors were absolutely disgusting. There was brownish red spots all over the bathroom and it was clear that it had not been mopped since the last guest. The windows were also dirty and the shades on the windows had some weird black stuff all over them. It would be a beatiful hotel if they just kept up with it.
This is the second time we chose to stay at the Allegria, we really enjoyed it once again, the service and food in the hotel restaurant was so much better than last year, would recommend this hotel.
The Location, easy to reach transportation good Long Island railroad a short walk from hotel
Slow eleavator , bathroom was not clean, hotel staff was polite however they did not do what they said. Did not come to clean room until after 4:00 Pm when we said no, it was to late and just asked for clean towels the maid who was outside our room said we had to call the front desk. We did they never brought the towels. Food good but overpriced
Had requested a top floor with sea view upon booking, even though I was on discounted rate - and got it, so well worth asking! Loved having the fridge in the room, so handy for drinks and any goodies I wanted for later. The ice machine steps from the room was much used, too (it was located behind a door to keep the noise down, which was great). All in all, fab beach resort feel, minutes from the train station and with all the amenities of a friendly city.
Often ran out of towells for the beach and sometimes a queue for the loungers and umbrellas at the beach. Having said that, asked for a hairdryer at the front desk and it was delivered to the room promptly and with a smile!
Construction during the night. Unbelievable that a hotel would do that.
The rooms is very modern and pretty
The TVS dont work...The streamline is constantly glitched so you cant watch the set most of the time... They have a little unstocked fridge which is weird for that kind of a room...I didnt think I needed to BYOB. It was also very humid in my room and I had to jack up the AC just to get the air to a point where I could be comfortable in bed. Also you can hear everything through the walls especially lots of walking and banging.
Location on the beach, great property.
Service was awful, no water in room (even to purchase), restaurant was awful, just everyone working there was terrible. No smiles, rude, the worst!
Air conditioning, tv and phone were not working and toilet was clogged. They came and "fixed" the problems but unfortunately when we returned late thT evening the problems had reappeared. I had to attach the toilet chain myself at 2am. Ours were not the only problems as I heard other guest asking for help with similar issues. This is not what I expect when spending $350 a night! I could not get the rate for the wedding block because when I called the day I received the wedding invitation to make my reservation I was told there were no more rooms available in the room block but could get one full price.
This was by far the worst stay I have ever had! On my wedding night... 1: the phone was not working, my husband had to leave to go find someone to come to our room to fix it. 2: The television was not working 3: The room service took over 2 hrs 4: When checking out "Mike" one of the Manager's at the Hotel, assured us that he would credit us 25% off the total bill. Two weeks later, he is being extremely unprofessional and is stating that this is untrue and not taking my calls. I will never recommend this place for anyone, as the level of service was unacceptable. This is one of the most expensive hotels on the Island and for them to treat paying customers like that is unacceptable and will be reported.
Close to the beach. The room is nice enough inside and I already knew what the beach and neighborhood was like.
My room was positioned 3 feet from 4 conference rooms! They appeared to just be other hotel rooms but had names instead of hotel room numbers (Park, Madison, Lexington etc). Two conferences started right across the hall from me at 7 in the morning with groups of people right outside my door starting at 6:45am!!! Finally I got out of bed at 7:30 to see what all the loud talking/laughing/etc was and I could see the two conference rooms had their doors wide open (makes sense that they would if people need to come in and out they're not going to have individual conference room keys). I tried to close the doors on two occasions and they just kept opening them back up. Called front desk who said they would send up security. Finally the doors were closed for maybe a half hour at which time people would come out into the hall to talk on their cell phones. I had no sleep after 6:45am it was incredibly loud. What a horrible setup to have conference rooms right next to guest rooms! I can't believe I paid money to stay there it was miserable and I live in Manhattan where I am very much used to loud noises when I'm sleeping but this was just way too much. Horrible experience.
The view of the room was nice
The two men at the front desk were beyond ride upon check in, they couldn't find my reservation, then they got nasty with me when I got upset. So I settled for a different room. The tv didn't work, the floor was dirty and I was sneezing from dust all night. I would not recommended coming here.
The room was well designed and immaculate. The ocean view was unbeatable , the restaurant facing the board walk was lovely and the food very good.
Problems with cell phone connection and internet service.
The hotel is modern, comfortable and ideally located right on the beach with a rooftop pool/lounge. Staff is friendly. Beach passes and chairs/umbrella provided.
It took the staff over 2 hours to check us in because the room wasn't ready when we arrived at 5pm. The hotel was being used for a wedding reception the night we stayed so rooftop access was denied after 5pm. Dining area was closed and bar area was being used by wedding guests as well as hotel guests so it was extremely crowded and noisy with no ordering options except fish bake buffet.
Nice rooms, great location.
Our first room had no air conditioning and had to sleep in a hot room. The window couldn't open due to the handle being broken off. Then we got moved to a suite which was great except it only had one bed and the air conditioning didn't work in the living room where the pullout bed. Also, the pool was dull and boring. Weak music, and no cocktails, only mixed well drinks.
1. Exercise room should open early on sat and sun--7am is better than 9AM 2. checkout should be done from room on your website---lines are too long in lobby
I booked an oceanfront room and they ran out. Then, we had no air conditioning for 2 days and couldn't switch rooms. I ended up getting a discount but it was a disaster. There is a club downstairs that you can hear all over the hotel too, so it wasn't exactly restful. Terrible awful experience.
