Staff was unprofessional and service was awful.
I got a room in the back facing another building with an ugly view of some kind of metal grid. The room was very hot, so I lowered the thermostat. I went downstairs and asked the young man to change my room. He checked with his supervisor and said I could not change the room because I booked with Booking.com. I said that I was willing to pay extra for the upgrade, but he told me that it was not possible. I woke up at middle of the night feeling very hot and I called , they sent a man to check the thermostat. He told me that it was not working, he told me to sleep with the windows open, and also gave me a fan. By then it was 1 am. I did sleep with the window open and the cool fan running.The temp outside was about 25 degrees. The next morning before I went out I stopped by the desk and told them what had happened and asked them to make sure that the thermostat was fixed. When I came back at night the woman at the desk told me that the engineer had fixed the problem. I woke up again at the middle of the night freezing cold, the heater as well as the thermostat were not working. I called, a very young man came to check it. He said that the thermostat was not working and he did not know how to fix it. He went and got me a space heater. Because of all the problems they gave me 1pm check out instead of 11 am. What they should have done is change my room in the first place. The coffee shop was very cold, so was the tea, and the honey was frozen. The woman at the counter said it was because of the cold weather. Over all I had a very unpleasant experience. I will not stay in this Hotel again. I usually stay at 3 or 4 star Hotels and have never had such problems.The restaurant and the bar looked nice but it was empty. So I went out for dinner.
The only thing I liked was the gym. It was very well equipped and had a beautiful view of the ocean.
If your window looks directly into the rooms of other guests only about 10 feet away, the room description should say that. Horrible day of check-out, had to take the 6:30PM LIRR, went to reception at 6 because I wanted to ask them to print out my boarding pass, which in the end they didn't because frankly they just don't care. The receptionist insisted that I pay 300$ extra for the 2 days, claiming that I had 2 extra guests in my room. Me being a solo traveller who didn't know or meet anybody these two days, the reception being at the only entrance and the receptionist insisting that he didn't work for the hotel but that he was an "auditor" makes this a bit of a shady place, but maybe that's just off-season. During this whole conversation the receptionist took 3 unrelated phone calls, while at the same time refusing to call a superior. In the end I had to run for my train, missed it anyway and went into a lot of trouble consequentially. No apology so far from the hotel. But I will challenge the 300$ if they really try to bill it.

Good food, but expensive (Sunday brunch, very high end food, but $84 per person? I kid you not.). Wait staff at breakfast slow and inattentive.

My husband and I arrived at the hotel early 11:30. The very friendly woman at the check-in desk told us that unfortunately a room wouldn't be ready for another couple of hours, so she gave is 2 tickets for a complimentary glass of beer, wine or champagne. She also said that the brunch buffet was open in case we wanted to eat. We sat in the upstairs lounge for about an hour and then decided to have done lunch. They directed us to our table and then told is to help ourselves to the buffet. We didn't overdo at the buffet because we were heading to a wedding at 5:30 where we knew there would be a lot of food. When the check arrived my husband and I were shocked to see that the bill was $85/pp! New had no idea it was going to be that much because there was no menu, no pricing anywhere etc. We take full responsibility for not having inquired beforehand but realized that we weren't the only ones completely shocked by the prices because another couple across from us who received their bill at about the same time from us appeared as shocked as we were. Admittedly great food, but wish we had had the option to order something off the menu instead.

Warm, not hot water; WiFi was spotty; heating and cooling system a bit loud and inconsistent, kept me awake; I have stayed here several times before, these problems are persistent

The lobby and modern appeal
I didn't like the shower (the glass only covers half the width of the shower; granted, it's a large shower, but still, I would have preferred that it all be enclosed). Also, the hotel clerk did not write our room number clearly, so we had to go back downstairs to ask for our room number again. And, there was a clothing boutique in the lobby that was supposed to be open until 6:00 p.m., but it closed early. I wanted to go downstairs and buy a dress around 5:30 p.m., but they were already closed and no one would open it.
The bed was comfortable, and the view was nice.
No parking lot to park, you would have to try to get a spot near the hotel/beach area or valet the car or park it yourself a block away in the neighborhood. The bed was hard as a rock and I woke up with a terrible back ache. I went in February and I was on the sixth floor in a room facing the neighborhood and it was really windy. It was so loud hitting the hotel, you can hear it consistently through out the night.The worse of it all was the window didn't have a secure lock just a way to close it, so three times in middle of the night the wind blew the window open as I was sleeping. It felt like I was being haunted.
The best thing about this was the room. I was in felt like it was a luxurious places to stay nice modern look and feel about it. The rooftop bar was great,with a nice view of the beach. I would consider it in the summer time if the rooms are priced right or your staying in the area. You don't need to be staying in the hotel to go to the rooftop bar

The hotel location and the view of the ocean was the best.
We had to sign a contract forbidding food deliveries and outside alcohol for the duration of our stay which was unfortunate, because it was 20 degrees outside, and we did not plan on going back out for dinner. When we got to our room, it was freezing. The thermostat was clearly broken, so on our way out to dinner, we asked if someone could please take a look at it. The guy at the desk said no problem. When we got back, he told us our room was perfectly fine, but it clearly was not! When we called downstairs, he said he'll send someone up, and after waiting in the hall for 20mins, for maintenance while speaking to another guest who informed us there was no heat in most of the rooms on the floor, we went downstairs in a rage. Someone else thankfully helped us, and we got our room changed with no problem. I must say the staff the next morning was extremely informative and helpful. Unfortunately we missed out on a stellar night at their lounge/bar. (The night shift left that part out)
