Score from 1427 reviews Very good
I liked the location of the hotel, kindness of staff
Room size, uncomfort bed and pillows
Everything was within walking distance. The staff was very friendly.
Very helpful staff -- special kudos to Eric the bellman We had complimentary wifi Comfy bed Super close to theaters Easy access on foot to museums, the Bean, shopping, restaurants Cozy robes Keurig coffee maker, much as I hate the waste, is a great perk
Lots of remodeling happening, so the lobby and main entrance were unavailable, which sort of dampened the experience. A fair bit of sound traveled from the room next door
I selected this particular hotel due to pictures on the internet site for Hotel Allegro . The bar area looked wonderful (hoping to enjoy a drink and not have to leave the hotel) , the large double staircase going into lobby, etc., none of which was there. To go to bar, it required walking to the end of the block and was only open until 10. The lobby looked nothing like the internet pictures. In addition, the pictures of the room on the site were very deceiving. I found the bathroom to be extremely small. In viewing the pictures, the bath tub looked like a oversized tub, which it was not, smaller than average tub in my opinion. In addition, the bellhop stated we were first guests to be in our newly renovated room, however, our room smelled like smoke. At the front desk all we were told is “I’m sorry”. This was a Valentine get away for my fiancé and I, hoping to be as romantic as the pictures looked and I was very disappointed. Finally, I felt the parking charge was way overpriced. Overall not a good experience for us. We will select another hotel next stay downtown. the bellhop brining our bags to our room continued to call my fiancé Mr. Medel. I clearly registered as Julia Medel and Todd Swaw. Mr. Medel would be my Ex-Husband. Awkward when this was a romantic Valentine Day getaway for us.
Good location. A warm and friendly staff.
I like how you were a host of Chicago for myself and my girlfriend. Your staff give us tips on where to go and what to see. I also liked your New Year's Day hang over brunch, and the wine at 5.
Not much I didn't like. Maybe the size if the room, but it is downtown Chicago.
Most everything. Over all a nice hotel
Hear 3-4 little annoying dogs barking across the hall. And could hear some imitate moments in the morning, which was loud enough to wake us up
wished the work out room was working
friendliness and helpfulness of staff close to my destination
that the fitness center was not available and I had to run 4 blocks to LA Fitness in 16 degree weather - but I do appreciate that that was made available to me vs no fitness option the italian sandwich from the bar - it was really bad - but when I mentioned this at check out it was deducted form my bill
Location is Fantastic. Only a 10 minute walk in any direction gets you to several landmarks as well as offices for business meetings.
"Just slap some wall paper and paint on it" seemed to be the way this hotel was decorated. Bathroom was beautiful, but not all that functional as the faucet was too close to the sink bowl making it difficult to do simple things like washing hands. Large mirror on the wall across from the bed was hung crooked and was missing one of the decorations (a petty argument I'll admit, but extremely annoying to anyone with OCD) I expected better for a 4 star
Very nice hotel. Exciting ambiance. Comfortable beds. Attentive staff..... Even fat elevators :)
The hotel was a hidden jewel.
I am a huge fan of "boutique" hotels. Looking at the pictures on the website, I knew I would love this place. It reminded me of the "Onyx" in Boston. Once we checked in, I found out both hotels were part of the same chain. Kimpton Hotels are my new favorite. They are decorated beautifully and their service is second to none. We will definitely be visiting you in Seattle in April.
The staff at the hotel were very helpful and professional. We were greeted by a very pleasant young lady who helped with our reservation. On check out, the young man was also very pleasant. From the hotel, we were able to walk to shops in the loop as well as to a near by theater. Had the weather been better, we could have easily walked to the Water Tower shopping area also.
close to everything beautiful old bldg
Convenience for business appointment.
Everything. Very, very expensive for such a small, plain room. Staff not very friendly.
The hotel was really modern. And the free wine hour and free tea and coffe in the morning was definitely a plus. The staff were lovely and the rooms clean.
It is a little bit of a walk if your heading to magnificent mile.
I had a great experience at this hotel. The place excels in all the basics (comfy bed, location, cleanliness, etc.) and then adds on some great perks like the free cocktail hour. Wifi was free if you sign up with Kimpton Rewards.
The staff was very friendly
room was very small especially the bathroom
No coffee in room.
room was a bit old, small and in need of refurbishment
The hotel interior design, the helpful & friendly staff. It was clean and the concierge was also helpful. There was a complimentary beer and wine tasting the time the day I was visiting. The lunch at the downstairs restaurant is excellent, and there is a Starbucks connected to the hotel.
Staff was friendly and excellent. It is nice to enjoy a glass of wine at happy hour
Valet parking was $57.00 per night, which seemed a bit steep. We parked elsewhere.
room old, shower toilet archaic, pillows hard, BF only coffee; not worth for the price I paid.
Great location, good-sized room and an enthusiastic, friendly staff who responded immediately and effectively to a complaint about a defective appliance.
- there was a fully loaded room fridge with little space for personal items. - no in-room coffeemaker -while there was a bed-side lamp it was not a reading lamp i.e. it lite the whole room; if a reading lamp is not practical at least have one with variable intensity.
