The staff at the hotel were very helpful and professional. We were greeted by a very pleasant young lady who helped with our reservation. On check out, the young man was also very pleasant. From the hotel, we were able to walk to shops in the loop as well as to a near by theater. Had the weather been better, we could have easily walked to the Water Tower shopping area also.
close to everything beautiful old bldg
Convenience for business appointment.
Everything. Very, very expensive for such a small, plain room. Staff not very friendly.
The hotel was really modern. And the free wine hour and free tea and coffe in the morning was definitely a plus. The staff were lovely and the rooms clean.
It is a little bit of a walk if your heading to magnificent mile.
I had a great experience at this hotel. The place excels in all the basics (comfy bed, location, cleanliness, etc.) and then adds on some great perks like the free cocktail hour. Wifi was free if you sign up with Kimpton Rewards.
The staff was very friendly
room was very small especially the bathroom
No coffee in room.
room was a bit old, small and in need of refurbishment
The hotel interior design, the helpful & friendly staff. It was clean and the concierge was also helpful. There was a complimentary beer and wine tasting the time the day I was visiting. The lunch at the downstairs restaurant is excellent, and there is a Starbucks connected to the hotel.
Staff was friendly and excellent. It is nice to enjoy a glass of wine at happy hour
Valet parking was $57.00 per night, which seemed a bit steep. We parked elsewhere.
room old, shower toilet archaic, pillows hard, BF only coffee; not worth for the price I paid.
Great location, good-sized room and an enthusiastic, friendly staff who responded immediately and effectively to a complaint about a defective appliance.
- there was a fully loaded room fridge with little space for personal items. - no in-room coffeemaker -while there was a bed-side lamp it was not a reading lamp i.e. it lite the whole room; if a reading lamp is not practical at least have one with variable intensity.
The location is great and the decor in the lobby very nice. The 312 restaurant served a very nice breakfast.
Our room was very small. The closet almost non-existent and the bathroom was very tiny.
The location is great, the staff was friendly, and the room was nice, although extremely small.
Changed rooms straight away as there was a crying baby next door, and the second room was nearly as loud with a dog barking alone in the room down the hall and loud parties at various times throughout our stay. The room was very small, and I didn't like how you can't control the air temperature.
Location is very good.. Michigan avenue is a ten minute walk away.
We had just 24 hours to spend in Chicago and the Allegro was in a perfect location for sightseeing, great restaurants & visiting friends. The stylish decor & comfortable beds were also a plus!
Location and free wine tasting.
Excellent location, great restaurant and lounge, enjoyed the 5 pm cocktail hour and snacks. Staff was courteous. Room temperature control was good. Decor in all public spaces was very nice. Room was quiet. We did not hear noise from street traffic.
Valet parking cost is excessive. Room, particularly the bathroom, was small. So was the closet.
Friendly staff at front desk Bed was very comfortable Lounges are enjoyable The bar was fantastic and as well as the staff
A little pricey
The rooms would be small of a family but for a single or couple its perfect. The free happy hour was nice. The hotel was clean and I felt very safe. Good for work location and was easy to walk to all the major sites from hotel but ended up taking a taxi back. However, it is on the loop so public transportation would be easy to use.
-location -close to the blue line, 3 min walk off the train from the airport -free wine and beer from 5 to 6 -clean -quiet -forgot to bring deodorant and hair spray, they provided it for free!
-washroom was tiny
Beautiful facility. Friendly efficient maid and lobby service. Maid service was over the top. Perfect location to see the sites and shop. We look forward to a return trip.
Between early arrival (room not ready) and actual check in, our reservation was misfiled and no record of our booking could be found for 10+ minutes even though we received a call that our room was ready. Our 3 letter last name was evidently misspelled. Woops!
Beds are very uncomfortable.
Room are small and price expensive and no breakfast
Close to where I needed to be
