My room was perhaps too newly renovated to be given to a guest (smell of paint).
Free and very good WiFI after a short registration process. Best bed I've had in a long time. Work-desk doesn't double-task as TV-desk :D

They didn't have coffee in the room (had to go to the lobby to get), there was no hotel bar/ room service.
Gym facilities were excellent

Reserved 2 rooms though the hotel had only 1 reserved. Was able to secure a 2nd room through Kimpton but was charged for 2 rooms by booking.com Will be disputing this triple charges
Jean Luc at the front desk stood out however the entire staff was great

Parts of the hotel were under construction but it wasn't really a big deal. Also, we found out that we couldn't get the advertised bicycles because it was still 'pre-season'.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, great location. We like to walk and were able to walk nearly everywhere we wanted to go.

Ambience and proximity to L station. Also so close to many great theaters and state street shopping!
March 10, 2015
The hotel did not state on Booking.com that they were undergoing some construction/renovation. Because of this, we were awoken at 6:30am to what sounded like someone bouncing a basketball against the wall in the below room. We were unable to get back to sleep and didn't bother saying anything because 1) they weren't going to cease construction because one room complained and 2) it was so loud that surely others would have complained and if they didn't stop working for those guests, why would they stop for us?
The staff was very friendly and the hotel was very clean. Checking in and out was easy and it was a great price and a good location.

Everything was within walking distance. The staff was very friendly.

Lots of remodeling happening, so the lobby and main entrance were unavailable, which sort of dampened the experience. A fair bit of sound traveled from the room next door
Very helpful staff -- special kudos to Eric the bellman We had complimentary wifi Comfy bed Super close to theaters Easy access on foot to museums, the Bean, shopping, restaurants Cozy robes Keurig coffee maker, much as I hate the waste, is a great perk

I selected this particular hotel due to pictures on the internet site for Hotel Allegro . The bar area looked wonderful (hoping to enjoy a drink and not have to leave the hotel) , the large double staircase going into lobby, etc., none of which was there. To go to bar, it required walking to the end of the block and was only open until 10. The lobby looked nothing like the internet pictures. In addition, the pictures of the room on the site were very deceiving. I found the bathroom to be extremely small. In viewing the pictures, the bath tub looked like a oversized tub, which it was not, smaller than average tub in my opinion. In addition, the bellhop stated we were first guests to be in our newly renovated room, however, our room smelled like smoke. At the front desk all we were told is “I’m sorry”. This was a Valentine get away for my fiancé and I, hoping to be as romantic as the pictures looked and I was very disappointed. Finally, I felt the parking charge was way overpriced. Overall not a good experience for us. We will select another hotel next stay downtown. the bellhop brining our bags to our room continued to call my fiancé Mr. Medel. I clearly registered as Julia Medel and Todd Swaw. Mr. Medel would be my Ex-Husband. Awkward when this was a romantic Valentine Day getaway for us.

Good location. A warm and friendly staff.

Not much I didn't like. Maybe the size if the room, but it is downtown Chicago.
I like how you were a host of Chicago for myself and my girlfriend. Your staff give us tips on where to go and what to see. I also liked your New Year's Day hang over brunch, and the wine at 5.

Hear 3-4 little annoying dogs barking across the hall. And could hear some imitate moments in the morning, which was loud enough to wake us up
Most everything. Over all a nice hotel

wished the work out room was working
January 19, 2015
that the fitness center was not available and I had to run 4 blocks to LA Fitness in 16 degree weather - but I do appreciate that that was made available to me vs no fitness option the italian sandwich from the bar - it was really bad - but when I mentioned this at check out it was deducted form my bill
friendliness and helpfulness of staff close to my destination

"Just slap some wall paper and paint on it" seemed to be the way this hotel was decorated. Bathroom was beautiful, but not all that functional as the faucet was too close to the sink bowl making it difficult to do simple things like washing hands. Large mirror on the wall across from the bed was hung crooked and was missing one of the decorations (a petty argument I'll admit, but extremely annoying to anyone with OCD) I expected better for a 4 star
Location is Fantastic. Only a 10 minute walk in any direction gets you to several landmarks as well as offices for business meetings.

The hotel was a hidden jewel.

I am a huge fan of "boutique" hotels. Looking at the pictures on the website, I knew I would love this place. It reminded me of the "Onyx" in Boston. Once we checked in, I found out both hotels were part of the same chain. Kimpton Hotels are my new favorite. They are decorated beautifully and their service is second to none. We will definitely be visiting you in Seattle in April.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful and professional. We were greeted by a very pleasant young lady who helped with our reservation. On check out, the young man was also very pleasant. From the hotel, we were able to walk to shops in the loop as well as to a near by theater. Had the weather been better, we could have easily walked to the Water Tower shopping area also.

Everything. Very, very expensive for such a small, plain room. Staff not very friendly.
Convenience for business appointment.
