In Fairbanks, this hotel is just a 5-minute drive from the University of Alaska - Fairbanks. A flat-screen cable TV is included in all rooms.
Score from 108 reviews Very good
About one mile from the entrance of Fort Jonathan Wainwright, this hotel offers an airport shuttle to and from Fairbanks International Airport, 5.5 miles away.
Score from 127 reviews Very good
Located on 1 acre, this Fairbanks B&B serves a daily full hot breakfast and provides free Wi-Fi. Shopping and dining are 5 minutes' drive away and Fairbanks International Airport is just 9 miles away....
Score from 30 reviews Wonderful
Conveniently located in downtown Fairbanks, Alaska, this hotel features an on-site restaurant and offers rooms with cable TV and HBO movie channels. Fairbanks International Airport is 6 miles away.
Score from 91 reviews Very good
The bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was good. The young lady at the desk (Mary?) was exceptionally friendly!
There was a low pitched, grumbling whine from the air circulating system. When I complained to the night staff, they told me it wasn't there. As I have previously worked for this hotel, I knew it was and had been since the place was built. The night staff treated me as if I were crazy.
Middle of winter its free to park, they offer transportation and breakfast
Rooms were small
Coffee, breakfast. Dining area.
Dust around the walls and around the night stands. Did not like that.
I got reservation on short notice and was treated so nice, room was awesome
The bed and tv
Desk staff was soso.
We were not allowed to book in 5 mins early. Just stand around and wait. No good reason.
Front desk staff are friendly, free shuttle to/from airport and rail station
1. Walls are paper thin - you can easily hear your neighbors talking 2. WiFi in my room was terrible - was told that the quality depends on which room you have (really?!?) 3. Breakfast buffet is a free-for-all - too crowded and not enough facilities for the number of people 4. Restaurant is closed on Sundays, leaving no dining out options in the immediate area
Location, Location, Location. Train station too far away to drag luggage but not a problem in any case as area motels offer free shuttle pick up and lodging in this case was only ten minutes. Check in was painless, efficient. World class lodging area for this part of Alaska all the way. Focus on where you are, and why you are there, and the negative issues will go away. The area is not intended to support your usual internet communication with the outside world. The area and attractions can not be seen in only a week. The park alone is huge.Too much to see and do. We need to come back.
Price and internet crashing all the time. Not a place to "stay connected" with the outside world. Over priced rooms are reflected in where you are. Location, location, location. We could not find any room bargains anywhere in the area and suspect there are not any being the reason anyone goes there is Denali and area recreational interests.
It near to airport. But the price is ridiculous . the freezer is very noisy
I booked this hotel 2months in advance, the price in Booking is $175 per night. But before I arrived, I found the price reduced to $105. But the receptionist refused to give me cheaper price. It totally unfair!! How about the cheapest price guarantee in Booking? Why I need to book in advance?! It is cheating and rob!!
Good position. Plenty of car parking available. Restaurant OK but restaurant staff a bit inexperienced
Nothing, it was just what I was looking for.
Shuttle pick up from Rail Station.
Bed was comfortable, room was clean, breakfast was just OK.
limited TV channels. Breakfast not the best I have had in hotels. Did not like soap in bathroom (too small)
close to the airport.
not that alaskan.
We had stayed at the Alpine a year prior and had no issues. This time was horrible. We won't be staying there again.
Room wasn't clean. We stayed for two days, no new towels were issued. Bathroom wasn't touched, garbage wasn't emptied. Heating system was loud. Refrigerator didn't keep items cold.
I liked the bar.
That the bar didn't stay open later !
Sarah, Steve, and Christo were all efficient, they helped smooth out some bumps 7n the road. Sarah deserves more $$, and should be running the front desk!!
Wifi was down almost a week, room and laundry staff are not that precise, only 1 washer is working, breakfast is barely passable, and could use revamping.
Upon checkout, I saw that I was charged $99 per night ($198 total for 2 nights, ecxluding taxes/other fees) instead of the Booking.com rate of $158 for 2 nights. The desk clerk acknowledged the error on Alpine's part but he said he didn't have the authority to fix the problem. I didn't get an airport shuttle pick-up either. It's ironic since it was the main reason I chose Alpine Lodge. Getting lunch was a problem since the lodge is in the middle of nowhere. The only way to get somewhere other than the airport or train station was to call a taxi.
Location is good. They paid for taxi to and from airport.
Continental breakfast barely made the grade. The attached restaurant isn't open for breakfast. Couple people at the front desk were good but couple others just so so. I'd expect these guys to be familiar with usual tourist's questions but they weren't.
Close to the airport.
Shades drawn and inside window left open by staff. Did not catch it until the morning, but all night the room would not warm up. Had to go down and get extra blankets.
The room was clean, well maintained and cozy.
The television didn't have a TV guide, so I didn't know what was playing on what channel.
close to airport
did not provide transport to small airfield on other side of airport
