The front desk couple were sweet and made me feel welcome
I was surprised how comfortable the bed was and how clean the bed was. We slept really well. It was quieter than expected.
I was afraid to walk on the carpet barefoot and the shower had a couple of ants and wasn't very clean. This was the first hotel I've had to pay before check out... kinda weird.
Management attitude of being there for them, not for you. Insisting on cash for, such as, parking. Interruptions all through the night with the guests that this hotel attracts. Ignore the address of Hollywood. There are grim elements to the neighborhood.
Location and proximity to going out scene in West Holliwood; wifi
It is extremely basic, old, a bit stinky, quite noisy place. The bathroom is not a plus. Airco was not working. Overal an oke place if you spend one night and basically come back to it from the bars but nothing more
this hotel is in a great location... there is no amenities and is not the greatest hotel but it wasnt bad for what we used it (which it was just for sleep)
no amenities price
close to Hollywood and Beverly Hills
not so clean, also you can't leave your lugagge at the front desk to storage like in normal hotel/motel but you have to pay 50$ (!!)
-the room stunk! I had to buy Lysol spray. -the carpet was wet -the blankets felt dirty -ants in the sink -1 of 3 lights worked -neighbors were smoking pot in their room I can't believe I actually paid to stay at this motel. (I feel it's the kind of place that rents out hourly)
very obvious anger/communication issues.
it was the cheapest i could find
it was loud around here always. AC barely worked holes in walls. it was dirty but the price was right
The fact that Jim Morrison lived here and that is that old style American Motel.
We had booked a long stay so I could settle my daughter in for an Internship. The Manager/Owner not clear wanted full payment up front rather than the usual swipe the card and settle the bill at the end of the stay. They somehow managed to swipe one of my cards, have it not pay out but block the funds in my account, the second card was swiped Ok and they got money. they then chased me every day for cash. It ended up after five days with the police being called, I settled my account and left the next day, and found a lovely place with a pool, in weho for a few dollars less. This is my worst ever Bookings.com reservation. Usually they are perfect.
I stayed here on September 5 after a show at the Roxy. This motel is within walking distance of plenty of cool things. I felt safe in the neighborhood. It was the best price i could find in West Hollywood and it got the job done, I just needed somewhere to sleep and shower. The room was clean, even though it could use some new carpeting (they have the same scary stain hiding carpet as the YMCA in San Diego I once called home) and this is coming from someone who worked as a housekeeper. No dust, sheets and towels smelled like too much starch like they always do when they're fresh from a commercial laundry.
Had to crawl on my hands and knees to plug the TV in for background noise, they should probably update the tiles in the showers, wouldn't recommend to someone who doesn't have experience staying in motels big cities.
Convenient location. Vintage setting. Quiet. Nice staff. No problem parking. Owner is growing potted plants outside.
Electrical outlets are worn out-hard to get plug to stay in. Difficult to drive in-traffic pouring out of the north on La Cienega; you have to go up to Holloway, turn left and try and make a U-turn or turn right on Alta Loma to get back to La Cienega south so you can turn into the Motel. Frequent fire trucks racing down La Cienega make noise.
Staff was friendly
Close to bars and restaurants and public transport
Room wasn't that clean and was outdated
the locaiton is good that is about it,
the room was very hot and uncomfortable for the summer heat the AC unit on the wall was no help at all, it was disgusting and clogged with dirt, the lighting is very dim, and there not enought electricity outlets, there are lots of stains on the walls, the staff was nice but they are very nosey and they do not have the "do not disturb" signs which they obviousy would serve no purpose because my check out was at 11:00 and the staff came knocking at 10:10am so we can hurry and be out. i hope they make changes soon,
Good location for Santa Monica and Hollywood
First room was poorly insulated and the AC was unable to cool it. They moved us and the second room was fine and what you'd expect for the price and that area. They also charged separately for parking which was not expected.
Location and ambiance.
Jim Morisson's old haunt. Very cool history.
Soap not included in the rate! Ha. Amazing. Dirty room. Stained rug. Ants. Run by mr and mrs upcharge. The location rocks but its disgustingly dirty and weird vibe.
Location was great. Easy walking distance to necessities for vacation like bars, restaurants. Easy driving to Hollywood sites. Clean and I felt safe.
Had to argue to use my card for the separate charge for the non-complimentary parking. Either a place takes card or they don't, there is not logical middle ground. They finally did let me though, but left me with an unprofessional view of the staff. While they location is good, it also means it's noisy if you're looking for a quiet spot this isn't it. Small rooms with no frills, but that's not bad for me, could be for you.
The fact that Jim Morrison lived there for two years.
It needed a update 20 years ago. They wouldn't look after my bags until my much later flight. They seemed smug when taking my money.
Jim Morrison tribute room. Can't speak for the other rooms.
Shawdy AC unit (it worked though), wimpy room door lock. Needs to be upgraded to modern lock and dead bolt. Bedding was found unclean (glad we brought our own linens), window does not close all the way, shower head was a disaster but worked.
Yes, small very basic, no frills rooms, but totally awesome location. Park the car and walk to everything in West Hollywood, where there is never Any parking. Room was quiet, new air conditioner and flooring. Such a value. Save your $ here and spend it at the great restaurants and bars minutes away!
Value trumped any shortcomings!
Location right in the middle of WeHo Incredibly low rates. Parking at my door. Clean. Funky atmosphere. Surprisingly quiet. Good shower and nice towels.
I was glad I brought my own soap and toilet paper.
No good security locks on doors.Peeling paint.Mold in shower ceiling.Bed wobbles and squeeks.Bed not stable.
