Location & ambience rooms cleanliness wifi staff attitude
Slight noise from construction in building next door Ideal if it had its own bar
fantastic staff, perfect solved breakfast, very cozy and clean room, gym, free drinks, ideal location... absolutely recommended!
Breakfast on the floor, very fast response to requests, complimentary drinks, great advice on things to do.
Very little storage space
First room assigned (room 306)was a depressing view of dirty ally, fire escape and green doors - we were able to be reassigned to room 528 much better view. Housekeeping was amazing room was clean and tasteful. Manager's reception was nice. good closet space, nice water pressure in the shower.
1. Free breakfast was skimpy - no toaster for bagels, fruit was minimal, ran out of regular coffee and plates both days. 2. Check in desks made me feel like I was applying for state benefits rather than at a hotel-no real lounge area. 3. hole in bathroom ceiling - looked like an electrical outlet or something was missing, worried that it was unsafe, looks like a hasty renovation, with little attention to detail - toilet paper was almost impossible to reach unless you have very long arms as it is behind the toilet, no grab bar to safely exit the tub (very slick). I was dubious about how sanitary the chipped wooden "breakfast tray" was - would have preferred something that was dishwasher safe. Bed was very soft and worn - had a tendency to roll toward the middle. Had to hunt down a bell hop when checking in, but much better when checking out.
Although it was pretty masculine I did like the decor. The valet staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean.
There is no "welcome" desk so I'm assuming that's the reason why no one felt the need to be very welcoming. I was billed twice for my room and incidentals even though the woman checking our party in confirmed that the rooms were under different names. Valet takes 20 minutes to retrieve your car and the breakfast is the breakfast fit for a king, if you're a five year old.
Great location, Valet service a little slow at peak hours
The staff was wonderful. They were all very attentive but not overwhelming. Appreciated that the room was clean and updated. The location was perfect for a young group. Great clubs, bars and shopping within walking distance. Had a great time. Will most certainly stay again.
View from room was a parking lot enclosed by buildings. No view of the city.
Everything was fine:-) we loved the Double Cross Lounge & Evening Manager’s Reception:-)
we were missing at breakfast a toaster and some fresh breads and sliced cold meat and fresh cheese and it would have been nice to have the breakfast in the Lounge
The room had a wonderful view over the rooftops looking onto Hubbard. Unexpectedly, the hotel had a free happy hour with appetizers in the evening and a wonderful continental breakfast. We were allowed to rent a DVD player and pick from the hotel's DVD selection all for free. Staff was professional and attentive - they "get it" as their tag line adequately describes. My wife and I live in the suburbs and take weekends away in Chicago and typically stay at 4* hotels. This one tops them all.
Lots of tourists in the area
Location of hotel is perfect. Near pretty much all things we were interested in yet easy accessible because it is not on a major thoroughfare. Staff was incredibly friendly and competent. Facility itself was clean and comfortable. Perfect size hotel.
Had good friendly staff members that were more than willing to help out.
Breakfast was the most stingiest I have ever seen, ive paid much less for a room and gotten a buffet of food granted the hotel was slightly smaller than the kinzie but still I am sure the hotel is capable of much more than a few fruits, doughnuts, dry cereal with a small carton of milk along with orange juice with coffee and that was it for the whole floor....me and other patrons agreed.
I don't normally write reviews after my trip but this is the exception. This is now my joint top hotel along with Wall Street plaza in Berlin. If I am ever back in Chicago from the uk then I would definitely stay here again. The location is ideal but there's more to it then that. The spacious room, comfy bed, great friendly staff etc. all in all a great experience and fantastic trip. Stayed from 29 dec through 2 jan. Brilliant.
The staff, location , and hotel was awesome. I think the most important for me though is that the staff was really friendly and helpful. Julian took excellent care of us at check in.
That it was winter in Chicago every time I come home
Rooms were really nice--attractive, roomy, comfortable, well-equipped and very clean; staff was helpful and efficient; location was perfect for our needs.
Lobby was a bit cramped and unwelcoming at first sight (though the friendly and helpful staff working in the lobby more than made up for any visual shortcomings).
Happy hour 'in house' was great after a long day at the museum. Staff was friendly & cheerful. Walk to restaurants.
Parking was pricey.
Nice bar with food. Great room.
Room, bed, location, friendly staff, free drink tokens and free continental breakfast
Lounge could use music/improvement more food choices for room service.
Breakfast served in the elevator hall.
Partitioning between dry zone and wet zone of the bathroom is not quite right. Water spilled from the shower section all over the dry area.
Nice hotel, good location
Breakfast is basic and at each floor there is a breakfast bar. This means you have to load up your food on a tray and eat it in your room.
Everything was great.
Breakfast is OK, but don't expect a whole lot of options.
The front desk assisted with locating and booking the best rate parking even though they offer a valet service of their own. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, and the everything was clean. It was also nice getting a complimentary drink upon check-in. This was a good value and overall comfortable stay. I plan to stay here the next time I'm in Chicago.
Upon entering the hotel, I was a little concerned because the front desk seemed like a temporary office. The lounge on the 6th floor also seemed oddly placed (but nice). I'm glad to report that these minor issues are no indication of the overall experience. This is a good hotel.
It was cold in the room especially by the windows.
Hotel is new and very clean. Location is good and valu for money.
Breakfast should improve.
This hotel is very well done. From the minute you are greeted by the staff until you lay your head on your pillow, I felt cared for. The staff was so helpful getting me pointed in the right direction, the happy hour with a full bar and food was great, the free wifi kept me productive, and the rooms are very spacious, clean, and comfortable. I had to do a double take on the price. I would expect it to be way more for the items mentioned above. I'll be back. Great hotel!
That I didn't stay longer in Chicago!
