The staff was super helpful and gracious! They upgraded us to a bigger room with out us asking.
Our room was dated not just in decor but layout. I guess you could call it nostalgic.
Front desk staff was very friendly. The room was large enough to move around in and clean.
Hmmmmmm. Slow shower drain.
Cheesy hotel, staff, moderately pleasant. Upgrade to a kitchennette was no upgrade as we did not come to cook in our room. The $20 fee did not come up until we booked with booking.com, so it wasn't that good of value for us.
The Staff are great I would come back again. And easy access to everywhere.
Location, speed of check-in
Property looking old and rundown
Only 10-15 minutes walk from the beach; You can take bicycle to go visit Waikiki by your own; Safe location.
Everyone is so friendly and nice! I will comeback
The staff was very friendly and helpful
Location is to noisy. Was woken up everyday at 6am by Waste trucks. Couldn't sleep in.
close to Wikaki beach
It is a very old hotel with no updating other than in the lobby. We originally booked it since we just needed an inexpensive place to stay for one night. However at registration we had to pay $45 for an amenity fee and parking so it was no longer an inexpensive place to stay. The only view it had was of an car rental lot next door.
Staff and toiletries were the only positive aspect.
Booked for floors 2-11, and were given 18. Mandatory amenities charge (Internet), regardless of use, once past the reception area, the whole hotel gave out a dirty feel. Felt nasty just being in the room. We stayed out of the room as much as possible. Our jobs keep us in hotels 3 nights per week. We have never experienced such a run down hotel.
We had a wonderful holiday and found the people just amazing! We are looking forward to our next holiday in Hawaii and our choice comes down to the wonderful friendly people and beautiful City. Cant wait for a return visit :)
It is very hard to find a negative as everything was so great, so we have nothing bad to report, only good, good, good :)
no on-site resturant; why is the mandatory "resort fee" not included in the room rate??
Overpriced for condition of room. Needs upgrading. DIdn't need kitchenette & additional services for which I was charged $20 extra per day. Also charged $25 per day for parking. I only need a clean, comfortable room at a "kama'aina" price for the weekend while working. I am a local resident.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room had great views from the balcony. Close proximity to Buses, Beach, Restaurants and Retail Centre
Lack of outdoor setting on balcony.
Front desk staff very helpful and informative.
Not enough towels, wash cloths, and toilet paper. House keeping did not leave enough supply for the amount of people staying in our room (4).
Central and easy access to Waikiki beach and dining.
Seeing homeless people. People looking through the rubbish bins
Secure and comfortable.
The room was very clean and roomy. It has a wrap around lanai which was great. The room is well insulated so there is no noise from outside or from other rooms. The staff is friendly and courteous. I will definitely return.
The location was excellent for beach , restaurants and shoppong. Loved the water dispensers. Pool was good. Concierge and main desk staff helpful and attentive.
Room was very dated although clean. There were 4 in our group but dishes and utensils for 2 .
The size of the room and just about every thing else.
No food stock in the refrigerator.
Excellent location. In the heart of the city.
Dated and tired. Sour smell from kitchen area.
staff and service was good
not airport shuttle or to go around no resturant
The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. Upon arrival, we received a complimentary upgrade on both of our rooms, a very pleasant surprise! Our upgraded rooms included a 1 bedroom suite, we were staying with our 3 older children, 32, 14 and 12. So the larger room and bedroom allowed them enough room not to get in each other's way, as much. And gave my oldest daughter some privacy. My husband and I had a room with a kitchenette. It was large and clean with 2 full size beds. The front desk, even made sure that we were all on the same floor and only a few rooms apart, excellent customer service. This was our first time staying at the Ambassador, but we'll definitely be back. Were already making plans for next Halloween!
The only thing that I can say that was hard was that the hotel parking was sold out when we got there. It was partly our fault as we checked in late, around 7:30pm. So we wee directed to the old Nike bulking about a half block down the street, this would have been ok, but my daughter started work @ 5:30a the next day and she couldn't get her car out, because the parking lot doesn't open until 7am. Well just make sure to check in early next time. Or see if we can pay for hotel parking before hand.
Location is great, close to everything, far enough away from Wakiki Beach night life to get a peaceful nights sleep! We have chosen the Ambassador 2yrs in a row now as we need a place the last few nights of of our stay in Hawaii!Mahalo!
Springs in my bed were a bit uncomfy. Confusing to get pool towels, must go to floor #2 housekeeping for towels , pool on floor #3 ...WHY?
