In the National Historic Lower central business district, Baronne Plaza was constructed in 1931 and features the original Art Deco stone and granite facade.
Score from 607 reviews Good
Just steps from the French Quarter, this New Orleans hotel has free Wi-Fi in every room. A complimentary continental breakfast is provided each morning.
Score from 327 reviews Good
This historic New Orleans hotel was built in a refurbished bank and still features some of the original vault doors. It is less than a 15-minute walk from the French Quarter.
Score from 150 reviews Very good
Conveniently located next to the the New Orleans French Quarter, this historic hotel is a gateway to the some of the city's most treasured cultural landmarks and attractions.
Score from 501 reviews Good
It was quite and a very clean place. Everyone that work there was nice and very helpful
New Orleans character
Still under renovation
When we booked this hotel we were not aware is under major renovations. We were also not aware of the extra daily charge for wifi, continental breakfast (very modest continental ), and exercise facilities. We would NOT have stayed here if we had known about the construction going on. Walls are very thin. In New Orleans one can expect people coming and going all night but you should expect not to hear it.
it was under construction and we didn't know. There weren't any amenities not even a coffee maker in the room.
I loved my room! Not sure if it's been renovated or if it is still in original condition, but I loved the look and feel of it. Super convenient location! Most of the staff was quite helpful and pleasant.
I did feel that the breakfast was lacking quite a bit. It was an awkward set-up in a tiny room with barely any choices. I'd honestly rather pay a little more for a good breakfast selection.
Was only a few blocks from the convention center where we were attending our event. During the day it would have been fine to walk, but late at night, just like any major city, best is to cab it or drive yourself. I hope that they improve on a lot of things once they are finished construction. Not exactly best option for staying longer than a day or so right now.
They tried to charge you $9.95 for free WiFi, free continental breakfast, free local phone calls. The only other thing they add into that is for long distance calls. Also, even with your confirmations showing reduced valet price, they still try to charge you full fee. I understand they are going through construction, but the walls are paper thin, the wood floors squeak every step you take in the room. The entire hotel from what we could see needed to be cleaned from top to bottom. From the halls to the rooms. It would also be nice if they could do something about the construction smell on all the floors.
Was not explained about the 9.95 up charge for extra facilities that we were not told about.
Location, renovated rooms
Poor isolation between rooms and aisles, too noisy in the night you can hear everything what happen around
I liked how clean the room was. How close it was to the French quarter. Friendly staff. They gave us directions to get free parking at the casino.
The place was under renovation. They should offer that free casino parking to everyone. It's a steal compared to 30 buck valet.
This hotel is conveniently located near the Convention Center, Riverwalk Mall and Harrah's Casino. Friendly staff makes this hotel stand out! Everyone went out of their way to accommodate my requests. I will definitely book there again.
This hotel is being renovated and looks nothing like the pictures on their website, nor Booking.com's site. There is construction dust in the halls, but not in the rooms. I cannot wait until the renovations have been completed!
Being located in the business district, we were worried our hotel would be like staying in any other city in the midst of high rises and business complexes, but the ambassador had so much southern charm! Great location, walkable to everything in the French quarter and the calmer garden district. Rooms were modern and clean and staff was awesome!
Hotel is currently being remodeled but I'm sure will look great once finished. Also, breakfast ends early so after a late night on bourbon street, it was hard to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast.
Wood floors squeak. Walls are thin you can hear through them from next room. A lot of bumping can hear people walking outside door. We did not sleep well. To much dust in hall. Elevators to small.
finished room was nice
under construction, too much ugliness
The hotel had a historical feel. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel was under construction during our visit.
The location and the staff
That it was getting renovated and the water was not hot at all
I love the mix of classic vaulted ceilings and old brick with modern amenities and a comfortable and practical experience.
The hotel is currently under renovation so the layout was a little cumbersome to navigate.
Lots of space in our room. Pretty good location. But that is the only good things I can say about this hotel.
Room was not cleaned. All bedding was clean, but floors, furniture, and window seals full of dust. It had hardwood flooring, which definitely hadnt been swept in a few days. Room was very noisy due to the old building and no insulation. We could also hear all street noise throught the old windows. Other guests were up all hours of the night yelling and partying and no one seemed to care and staff did not try to let them know there were other guests trying to sleep. Air conditioner in our room was also broken. Maintenence never did fix it. Lots of construction throughout entire hotel, which was frustrating. The front of the building looked as if hotel was closed when we arrived due to this. I think they should let guests know about rennovations when they book. Otherwise, we would not have stayed here. Also the next morning workers were drilling and hammering at 7am on our walls outside our room! So rude of a hotel to let guests experience this.
The location was in walking distance of most of the places we wanted to visit. The room we stayed in was very large.
We had to ask twice for a waste basket. We waited 1/2 and hour for an iron. The room didn't have a refrigerator. Construction crews were hammering at 7:00 a.m. The breakfast selection was poor.
We got an amazing deal on this hotel for our recent stay-cation, and we were head over heels with the design of our room. This place is going to be breathtaking whenever the renovations are complete...I'm afraid we won't be able to afford it anymore! We also loved the easy and reasonable paid parking across the street (we did not valet). Easy access to the quarter, but far enough from all the action that you can sleep soundly at night.
my check in was a mess, but the staff was very helpful and i got a discount.
my check in was really bad. the construction of the hotel made it not worth the price.
Seriously great location! So close to the French Quarter, but also near some new hip, cool, and up and coming restaurants outside of the Quarter. Not to mention, its only a block from Mother's. Staff was very friendly. Really great black out curtains.
There was a lot of construction going on not only in the hotel, but on the street in front. The construction in the hotel did not detract too much from my stay because the hotel was really just a crash pad. The parking fee ($32) was a bit ridiculous, considering there are hotels in the Quarter that are only $20. There is also a $9.95 "resort" fee for each night you stay. I was disappointed that they would not accept the tax exempt form I had brought, but even more so that it took them 2 1/2 days and 4 check in's by me with them to tell me this. I found it strange that I asked twice the first day, once the second, and again upon check out, but they only gave me an answer upon check out. The beds are the LOUDEST beds I've ever slept in....super squeaky. The noise would wake me up whenever I shifted in bed or my friend in the other bed shifted. The mattresses were a little lumpy and much to soft as well.
I liked the location of the hotel because it was conveniently located in walking distance to several tourist sites.
The hotel is in a good location, friendly staff
Renovation works in progress, poor breakfast
No information about current renovations, the price does currently not match the standard of the hotel
