Conveniently located next to the the New Orleans French Quarter, this historic hotel is a gateway to the some of the city's most treasured cultural landmarks and attractions.
Score from 555 reviews Good
This historic New Orleans hotel was built in a refurbished bank and still features some of the original vault doors. It is less than a 15-minute walk from the French Quarter.
Score from 193 reviews Very good
Great, newly remodeled/furnished rooms. Comfortable bed and linens. Great location and close to some good restaurant bars. Would highly recommend Ernst Bar and cafe and Lucy's!
Our room was on the side of the elevators and you could hear them all day/night while trying to sleep
Under construction, didn't know it before booking.
It's a little rough around the edges as they are doing a lot of construction, but I loved the look and feel of the room--exposed brick walls, tasteful decor, etc. The staff was super friendly, available, helpful, and great location just outside the noise and hassle of the quarter, but easy walking distance
I liked the location, even though it was 9 blocks from Bourbon St., the courtesy of the staff was excellent, and the check in & check out process was convenient. Its the actual hotel/ landmark that has a downfall.
My fiance & I stayed here for our 5 year anniversary. Romantic? NOT. We didnt have a microwave (anywhere in the hotel, even though the front desk guy welcomed us to his), no fridge, horrible climate control, dust still on floors from construction,no windows in our room (no views), & no vending machines period. Also, The extremely long walk to our room down Canal St. & the longggg halls in the hotel while intoxicated at the end of the night was gruesome. Just a heads up. lol
No one told us the hotel was under construction. The lobby was a joke, there was no resturant or bar. Don't waste your money.
They were completely renovating, but it had little impact on our stay. We will definitely go back and are looking forward to the new facelift.
The beds are comfortable. The wifi works. The rooms are relatively clean.
The lobby is dirty - carpeting and furniture are very old and need to be replaced. Floors in the rooms could use come cleaning.
We were in NO for a conference so had to spend most of our time in the business district. The location was perfect for us. It was close to our meetings and also walking distance to the French Quarter. The place was under renovation during our stay but we did not hear any construction noises. The breakfast was okay. Room was awesome! Great size, comfy bed, hot shower.
the room was very nice and looked just like the pictures on the website. The beds were comfortable and it was in a safe and great location in the town.
Walking into the lobby and to our room was very sketchy and scary looking. The pictures look NOTHING like what the hotel looks like. We asked about the workout room and we were told it was in a heard hat area.:-/. The room was very humid feeling so it was either a cool damp feeling or hot and damp.
Love the staff. They were all friendly except 1
Was under construction and my room was not finish. The fridge was not working in my room, but staff was nice enough to store my meds in there fridge
The staff was very friendly and accommodating, particularly Latasha, Alan, and Justin at the front desk. They knew my face and name very well. Keith, the Marketing Director, even took the time to show me the new lobby that is under construction. The rooms were beautiful and updated, and the cleaning staff was awesome. I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in an affordable hotel in NOLA.
I will say that the walls are a little thin, but it really didn't affect my sleep, personally. Still, I could see other guests potentially being bothered by it. Also, the breakfast was sparse, but I'm certain it's because they're under renovation. I'd like to experience their continental breakfast once all of the construction is done, for sure.
On that contruction
The location and uniqueness of each room is what made our stay.
The staff had the worst attitudes and were no help with any questions we had. We were overcharged and wasn't explained to why. The woman who checked us out tried to make us feel stupid by "showing us" where our card was charged more but had no explanation as to why. I would never recommend this hotel.
Room has a modern updated look, clean, nice comfy bed
The price is way out of context for what it is even for a Mardi Gras season. The lobby looks like a 1* hotel in a third world country. But the biggest disapointment is thet there was no WINDOW in the room! This started to concern me badly especially after a day spent there
Location and staff
Continental breakfast was to short and the walk from the old building to the new was a bit much
Location for Mardi Gras.
Expensive.. Construction work going on and noise early in the morning..
The location was beneficial.
The room is a matchbox with exposed pipes as the artwork.
I like how friendly and warm the staff werethey were very helpful. they help me give my date directions to the hotel as well as let us know what restaurants to search for a while we were in the area.
The staff and location was great!
The hotel is under construction, the water was off for about an hour or two, and the last two days we couldn't sleep in due to the construction noise.
You could hear the noise in the hallway like the door was open. Thin walls
Location was the best
They're doing some renovations so a little dirty in the main floor and noisy.
Our huge room with a window, comfortable bed, and modern decor in room. We know that other rooms were not as comfy.
The breakfast area was too small, and the food was very disappointing. The floor in our room was slippery to point of dangerous. The foyer was small, and not anything like the pictures. We paid $200 only because other family members were there for an event.
Staff was friendly and attentive, Ideal location, Rooms were spotless despite renovation
A bit tricky navigating the hallways
Lovely hotel with fully upgraded rooms, loved the old school blended with modern touches.
Views are non existent.
The staff and location as well as the price
They were under construction
