The room was very nice for the price, clean and comfortable! The staff was always friendly and helped us out when we had questions! The hallways were a little bit less clean and sometimes homeless people would hang around the hotel.

I liked that it was available and within walking distance to the wharf. I had to be there because I was a chaperon for a prom and I live 70 miles away. For the price (200 a night), all they provided were store bought croissants and a tube tv with a remote that did not work. My husband and I were afraid to walk barefoot on the floor. It was disgusting! Another couple walked in to rent a room and left when they heard the price and what it entailed. This was definitely a price gouger!

Great location. A good choice for those people traveling on a small budget. Free on-site parking. A little rundown.

I liked the location a lot. The bed. I was stung by so many bed bugs. Up till now the bites have been driving me crazy---just so itchy. The pharmacist said that I should try Benadryl and cortisone. I hope this works. I will however neve go back to America's best inn as that was such a bad experience that a week after still haunted me.

I liked the location, really close by everything that we wanted to see. The room was clean. Friendly staff. It has everything that you need and is comfortable enough. It was a bit noisy but not as other people has said, it's the city of course there's noise. We wanted coffee and went to get some at nite like the ad said "coffee available at the lobby 24hrs", well NOT! coffee had been sitting there since the morning and it was almost 9pm. On Saturday after room service when we came back from our site seeing, the trash from the bathroom was still there. The door was dirty from the inside, could use some wiping. The desk drawer was broken, the broken wood hurt my hand.

Free parking, good location. Poor general cleanliness - Mildew painted over on the bathroom ceiling, silicone had mildew in it, carpet had gum on it, the walls needed paint, etc.

For the price & location this place was very good find. We liked the neighbourhood and the connection to Fishermen warf area. Plenty of buses, although is very pleasant 10 min walk by the shore to Pear 39. The room for USA standards wasn't very big but it has two queen size beds, microwave, coffe maker, hairdrier,TV & frige. Staff at the desk was very helpfull and courteus. Room nothing to write about home, but would stay in the place again,on my next visit to SF. The room was tired and firied on the edges, had bit of musty smell when first arrived. Bathroom was very clean, but due to bed ventilation, there is mould on the ceiling, which was covered with fresh paint in attempt to cover its existence. Also chear in the room won't hurt! My pet peeve was that WiFi although was free and open access ( no password) was very weak and sporadic. Also the problem with TV access. Staff tried, but in 2 days we stayed twice the cable was done. Also very thin walls and got woken up by guests weeling their luggage to/ from room as there is echo from the walkway.

Good location, value and I liked how the room had a wall between the beds (2 queen beds) it was cool to have that privacy The reception area was weird.. We jus had some weird experiences trying to order a taxi. Nothing big just could not get much communication.

Well located for Fishermans Wharf at a 10 minute walk and a reasonable price compared to other accomodation but you get what you pay for in this instance. Room was cleaned every day and the bed was comfy. Traffic noise overnight, noisy neighbours, rooms need a facelift as they look tired. Stairways were grimy with cigarette butts and chewing gum and un -emptied ashtrays outside most rooms. Breakfast was very minimal with just croissant and a coffee /tea.

Location, coffee in room, shampoo, dryer, continental breakfast all good. First night guests standing outside yelling ( drunk) across parking area to other rooms. Called front desk at 2am. Clerk couldn't hear anything (until he went outside). Yelling continued. Called again at 3:30am and threatened to call the police. Got quiet, except person above us was talking loudly. We told day desk clerk who offered us a refund of we left immediately. We identified the noisy rooms and the clerk determined they were leaving that day. We declined the refund, as we didn't want to waste time looking for another place. We had only one more day in San Francisco. The refund offer was sincere and we appreciated it.
