Big and well designed rooms, all clean.
Mouldy smell. No coffe maker.
big room plenty of TV channels
sink in sleeping area, not bathroom fair TV quality
Newly decorated clean room with updated bathroom/shower. Really comfortable mattress & pillows, new microwave & mini fridge - very convenient. Nice owners/managers!
Could use a fresh coat of paint on the outside, but didn't affect our stay at all. We would stay here again.
I actually was very pleasantly surprised by room interior-musty odor yes, but not bad - and my nose is easily bothered! They obviously care about keeping a nice hotel - room 111 is nice. The one unhappy surprise: tiny little flies in the bathroom. Yep. But easily swatted. The innkeeper was genuinely friendly. Its a value inn - for the low price definitely a decent room (flies notwithstanding) and quiet good sleep
See above re flies.
The room smelled of mold.
Like the king bed and cable TV.
Had a strong musty scent that improved with the air conditioning. Didn't know where ice machine was and if there was a soda machine.
The flexibility of check in time and check out time at 11:00 am suited me very well.
I plugged in the refrigerator it in and it did not work. no breakfast
newly renovated, clean, comfortable & spacious.(we had the suite). we liked it.
a bit remote, one has to use car to get food for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
you don't get much for your money, so not a "best value".
Rooms are VERY smelly, towels are paper thin they smell like bleach and back windows need screens, received numerous insect bites! Also, the staff is too eager to clean the rooms and not letting the traveler relax!
holes in blankets dark rooms smelled funny
I liked that the hotel was on Route 5 which intersected with Route 9 the road that would take me to the University of Mass. Amherst. The woman who checked me in called the room a "suite." It had 2 queen beds, a couch/sofa bed, a desk and chair, a table and 2 chairs a microwave oven and a refrigerator. There was also a big screen TV on the wall in the far corner of the room.
There wasn't even a Gideon Bible in the room. Nor was there a notebook that told about the hotel and its features, nor was there information about the TV channels or any restaurants nearby. When I walked to the office I was given 2 menus from pizza/Italian restaurants. My biggest problem didn't show up until a few hours into my stay. I have asthma. It is well-controlled. About 1 a.m. I started to have symptoms of an attack. I took the medications that I carry with me as well as antihistamines. I have not had to use the amount to medication I used since I had pneumonia 12 years ago. When I called the hotel owner about my problem. He was adamant that the room was not the problem because it had all been re-done. I have had problem with moldy areas for decades. At about 1 a.m., I began the wheezing and was in need of medication. The t-shirt that I wore to bed smelled strongly of mold, so perhaps it was the bed that was the problem. The owned did not like being challenged as to the cause of the mold. Most owners are much more conciliatory when such comments are made, but he was neither polite nor sympathetic. He begrudgingly asked what I wanted him to do. I told him nothing, that I just wanted him to know about the problem, but at this point I think I deserve some kind of rebate.
Provided me exactly what I needed a cheap place to stay overnight.
the room was clean. We were traveling from GA so to have a late check in was great.
The room was comfortable
The exterior of the facility needs to be put to date
An older Motel with renovations. New plumbing, mirror in bath, carpet, sheets felt newish. Very clean. Good lighting in bath. Manager was helpful in addressing some issues (see "don't likes"). Next to Connecticut River with a beautiful view from the front of the motel, nice setting along semi-rural highway just outside Holyoke.
No coffee maker but manager found one. We had to buy our own coffee. Only motel except motel 6 I've stayed in for many years without this item. Also, no kleenex, I asked and was told they don't provide, forturnately toilet paper was soft and sufficed. Bed sagged on lamp table side. Bath sink was new but no connection to sink stopper so I had to reach under sink to raise stopper when wife had pushed it down to hold water in basin. No bathtub stopper but manager found one for us to use.
Office staff was great, very quite location.
While the room did not have any mold in it (i am very allergic to mold),, it was very musty and dank smelling,, my sleep clothing could not be worn any more as they were saturated in the musty odor from the bed after one night there. Owner needs to do some water abatement to stop the influx of moisture into the rooms. Will not be staying here again.
Clean room, ample size beds, quiet, easy to access hotel from Smith College.
Digital TV reception was very poor. No hairdryer was provided so I had to air dry. No coffee/tea in room
great value, clean room, nice touches like fridge and microwave
the property is clean but dated and needs a refresh.
great staff very clean room.
Staff was helpful, location
Room was very musty on walking in and if the heating unit was not on, wallpaper in bath coming down, had to go through 2 alarm clocks, which the second didn't work either, no local news channels on the TV (or PBS). The mustiness was such on return home, my packed clothes smelled of it.
Room was clean, bathroom in great shape. Room was large. Bed was comfortable.
Sorry, but I have to say some mildew on shower curtain, bathroom fan loud, outside of microwave was a little dirty, trash behind fridge. Also, underneath microwave was dirty. The bathroom fan was also pretty dirty. Just wanted to let you know.
The room was clean and looked like it had recently been remodeled
The toilet seat was cracked. Only one tiny towel per guest. Room was very dark and lamps didn't have enough bulbs.
Clean room with fridge and microwave and plenty of space. Quiet location, easy to find and easy access to town. We were just needing an overnight and this was perfect. We'd definately stay there again.
Doesn't look like much, but the room was just what we needed - I would certainly recommend it to anyone needing a no frills place to stay in Holyoke.
I really liked the way the facility has been redone and enjoyed interacting with the staff. There was a snowstorm when we stayed and they made a big effort to shovel and plow and make it manageable for the guests. Just right for me, really.......... no complaints.
Nothing, it was all good with me!
