Th staff at the front desk was friendly.
I had no blankets or bedspreads on the bed. They did bring some. It was unreasonably dirty, I had to go next door for ice because the machine was broken. Even the parking lot was filthy! Next time I will be staying next door at the other motel.
Sleeping room was fair, beds were okay Breakfast was good We know not to book a room with you again.
The room had at least 30 to 40 flies in it . Spent an 1-1/2 hour killing flies!! Bathroom shower wall was dirty, lines between tile was awful and toilet seat loose and the floor in the corners were dirty. We have never stayed in a place for that much money that was that bad. Ask for main floor room and had to go up stairs, we arrived by 4:00PM I am 82, husband 86 and our daughter has MS. Also ice machine wasn't working and had to get ice at the hotel across the parking lot. We were there for a funeral or we would have gone on to another town. We couldn't stand to shower in it
I come out once a year, to visit family and we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are nice, so is the beds. Staff are nice and helpful.
The problem we had was our room was not cleaned, beds not made, and had to keep asking for clean towels.
Excellent rooms, good attention to housekeeping, lovely layout, convenient distance to surrounding areas.
Management could have been somewhat friendlier, fold out bed not delivered by staff and instead required us to pick it up, had to kill an enormous spider found in our room, shower water temperature was temperamental.
We went to breakfast and when we returned the maid service was in our room. They didn't step out and we had to gather up our belongings around them. The beds appeared to not have been stripped but made up with out. There was no sign of the sheets being removed.
The room was spacious and the furnishings were of good quality.
Housekeeping came by too early. Pop from machine was warm.
Hotel is very dated. Non smoking rooms should not smell like they were just smoked in. Tile in shower needs to be re-grouted recaulked at base . Pictures are decieving. Not nice at all. These rooms should be $39.99 a night that might make it worth staying.
Location relative to Ouray National Wildlife Refuge and Fish Hatchery
Value for the money was poor. Furniture worn, bed spread looked dirty, towels small and thin, WIFI password didn't work, breakfast was awful (food quality and quantity very poor - we couldn't eat it.)
I liked the fact that the hotel next door was owned by the same people so they let us switch to there for extra money but gave us a deal on a huge king suite.
The girl that checked us in at the Americas Best Value Inn seemed depressed when we decided to change to the hotel next door, even though that's where they send all their guests go for breakfast and the pool. Like we had dealt her a personal blow.
It seemed like they were looking to cut costs by offering minimal items such as towels and no shampoo. The towels seemed old and used up. I also made a mistake by choosing this hotel as they offer pets for an additional $10 I think. I am not a pet guy and my rooms seemed to have the smell and feel that it had pets recently. My fault for not checking.
