Our first trip as a couple, we were looking for something affordable, yet nice. The ameritania offered both. This was the best deal we could find that offered location, cleanliness, and relaxation. The ladies at the front desk were friendly, and very helpful when we would ask directions. The bellman was extraordinary. He did not let us touch our bags once entering the hotel. He made sure that we had a ride back to the airport, and even loaded our (very heavy) luggage inside. We had a great New York experience, and we will be sure to recommend this place to anyone travelling to the Big Apple.
Toilet made noise that sounded line air in pipes. Was disruptive to sleep. We were only there for 2 nights so we just dealt with it.
Loved the staff - had an issue with the booking (booked a double, confirmation was for a single),but my email was answered and resolved immediately. Check in was a breeze, they arranged for car service and bag storage for the day of our departure. Location was fabulous - 5 min. walk to Central Park and Times Square. Clean, modern, beds were amazing
Team was completely unfriendly, rude , no smile at all, very serious , no flexibility .. Nothing
Hotel is clean and new. Location is perfect, only 2 blocks from the nearest subway station. It's also near the broadway so that we can walk back the theatre after the show ended at midnight. Safe location.
Wifi is charged by device. The bed is too soft.
The staff was so helpful & kind. Thanks for a great stay!
You cannot beat this location, walking distance to Central Park, 5th Avenue shopping, Grand Central and several subway stations. Very clean and all staff were accommodating and friendly. Our two teenaged kids travelled with us and they loved the stylish decor in the lobby and rooms. We will be back!!!
There was really nothing we didn't love about this hotel!
Very nice and friendly service. Always very willing to help. Rooms are very comfortable and there is emough space to put suitcases and shoes and other things. Also bathroom has a lot of free space. If next time I will traval to NY, I will certainly book a room in this hotel
Everything was very good. I was warn internet connection was not so good and costed 10 USD per 24 hours. So I did not try it, but in each McDonalds or Starbucks or most public places (museas, shops) there is free internet. So no problem for me
overall decor and modern feel
bathroom had no towels provided and after visiting the front desk, they placed in a plastic bag on our floor when we returned from our outing.
Location, staff, facilities
Room was available on short notice and in a good location.
Corner room was quite small with a brick wall view through one window and a brick wall view through the other. Rude reception desk staff. $10 per 24 hours for very slow internet. The room did not have towels at check in and then the towels brought to the room were sour smelling. Parking lot used in conjunction with hotel was under construction, full price, and their staff were very rude.
staff cleanliness comfort in rooms location
the red colour of the furniture in the lobby. no coffeemaker in the room
Jeff at the door and Rob behind the desk were very helpful!
Quiet, clean and comfortable room.
The location was great, proximity to Theatres , Times Square, Central Park, Hell's Kitchen etc . There was also great shops in and around the area, shopping was good. The staff is super helpful and friendly.
The rooms could get a bit small. The AC system seemed a unpredictable at times, the room could go too cold or too warm during the nights.
As first time visitors this was a good location for a few days for the theatres, Time Square, MOMA, Rockefeller, Central Park and for the hop on/off buses. Reception and door staff were also really helpful with booking and transport advice.
paying for wifi
Staff always opening entry doors. Fresh, ice-cold water in lobby. Complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate in morning. Room décor.
I could not get the air conditioning in our room to ever shut off. The elevators were out of order twice during our stay. The housekeeping staff consistently did not provide enough bath linens.
Friendly staff Jeff the door man was VERY helpful (they all where but he stood out) Location was just get ,it was my daughter and myself and we we loved it .
aircon was very loud and kept going off and coming back on hotter and the safe did not fit a laptop (only fault) Would still stay there again
Terrible bed, no outlets, light would not work, charged more than the indicated parking, full length mirror proped against the wall
the cleanness, accessibility, but sometimes the attitude is not so appealing
The stairs in front of the hotel are obstacles and luckily they have a ramp. Sometimes I have to wait them over 5 minutes before getting the ramp ready
Location perfect, just off the busiest area of times square but close enough to feel a part of the action. Front desk staff and bellmen were wonderful and gave great advice and helped with luggage and parking.
Towels weren't replaced and had to call twice to get them. Had to ask for a cot twice. Had to pay extra for WiFi.
Great style, comfortable, right in the middle of all the theaters, steps from Central Park.
You need to pay extra to have internet
Evidence of bed bugs Being gouged on broadway tickets. We were charged $155 for tickets worth $79. No indication was given that fees were that high or that front desk staff receive commission on ticket sales.
