Bed is good, kitchen is good too. Location is very good, few blocks you have everything.
- location - nice staff
- kitchen could be cleaner - rooms were not in the best condition
Location Kindness of the staff
Room's atmosphere : old fashion and not very clean
Building in need of repair. The stair treads had tape (which was peeling off). The shower wasn't; it was a running faucet with nothing to allow the water to come from above. The pancake batter was watery and tasteless
Well, first of all the location is really good, and the wifi is good enough to feel comfortable. Also I like the idea of "private" bathrooms in dorms.
Beds are just awful: old and not only uncomfortable, but simply dangerous. Also looks like no one noticed my request regarding bed stairs problem: I'm lame and have certain troubles with stairs. So if you're brave enough to sleep on unsafe bed with drooping mattress and have no disabilities, it's ok to stay there.
Location was good, value for money and helpful staff enjoyed the breakfast.
Too crowded in a dorm. No lifts noisy no aircon in the rooms. Old funiture
The location was very good and the staff was very nice.. they provide pancake stuff for breakfast.
My tv was not working, that was a real bummer.. it would have made a big difference to my stay there..
No breakfast Old fashioned rooms Very loud
To much noise.
I stayed in a private room and it was nice for a cheap San Francisco room. No air conditioning, but that was ok because I just opened the window and the nights were cool. Sometimes the outside noise made it tough to fall asleep, but the rooms were clean and the bed was great. They have a nice common area in the basement with a big screen TV, couches, and comfortable sofa chairs.
The "free breakfast" was a bucket of pancake mix and coffee. It wasn't bad having to cook pancakes on an iron skillet and then having to wash dishes after eating--but it was a bit disappointing at first. The WiFi was super unreliable and often didn't work.
Price, location , good bed in the 4 person dorm room and bathroom attached to the room.
Staff were helpful and good location.
Thanks to Oracle for occupying all the rooms of SF.
price is worthy
wifi in room
It is very close to Union Square. So, it was easy to go anywhere.
The carpet is so old that smells really bad. I stayed in the first floor (basement) and it was very noise because it is close to TV room, computer area and the kitchen. So, some guests were hanging in the TV loudly one night. Another day, during the shower, a huge spider appeared. In general the hostel needs to improve theit maintenance. The curtain was broken, there was an hole in the wall...
Mini fridge and microwave Free wifi Top location, nearly everything is within walking distance Had the private room with own bathroom - everything was alright!
It is a hostel so lots of young people stay there it can get noisy during the night, if you are looking for a silent place this hostel is not your choice ;)
Microwave in room was useful
3 levels plus basement without a elevator! Room was not clean and in need of renovation. Window was dirty and glass cracked. Toilet seat did not fit toilet bowl. The internal door lock did not function. The carpet had dust buildup around the edges The furniture and curtains were old and dilapidated. The fridge was noisy and the antiquated tube tv kept flickering. Only one double power point in room with an extension cord running across the room for tv was a serious hazard. They do not routinely make up room daily - only after room is vacated! Breakfast included?? - consists of make your own pancakes, coffee and tea bags supplied but had to boil water in a saucepan. Definitely not worth around $170 per night we were charged for the room.
The hostel is very clean and in a gear location.
The walks are thin so you can hear other loud conversations happening in the middle of the night.
Staff professional, clean, crepes dough every morning for make the breakfast yourself
Booking management could be improved
The location and the price.
Nothing really. It's a good hostel for the price.
- Courtesy of Staff - Location - Private nice bathrooms in the dorm rooms - Free pancake breakfast
- Not always complete information given about the area - Squealing beds & hard to climb on the top bunk bed -Intermittent Wifi in the upper floors
The position is good. However, not perfect due to the hill and proximity to the shelter, a bit problematic to reach at night time. Not dangerous, but a bit scary.
Nobody cleans the room even if you ask. It's expensive and what you really pay for is the mold in the bathroom. There's plenty if that. It's very noisy, you can hear people like they are in your room at any time.
Young atmosphere. Kitchen aalways open. Front desk always open Reasonable price.
Maintenance is poor. Water broke from ceiling twice in 5 days. The repair left ceiling open for the night.... No change of sheets and towels, nor room clean up for the whole stay.
good location, nice hostel, nice staff
Everything was good but my room was by the kitchen and there were lots of noise in the morning. And people used to get into my soon. but I think it's the price of being in a common room lol
Very good price for the location and the comfort of the hotel Breakfast included
Lack of furniture for the bank bed No locker provided when I was there Bad Wifi Breakfast included but not really convenient
We didn't appreciate the noise at night ,
