Score from 15 reviews Very good
Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Relatively close to restaurants. Free parking. Free Wi-Fi. Good climate control.
Limited breakfast. Desk in room was too high to use as a PC workstation; or maybe the chairs were too low. (I had to put pillows on the chair to reach the keyboard.)
The location was convenient to major areas. The place was clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was decent, but no great. The staff was not intrusive but courteous.
The electronic key card kept breaking. They blamed it for being close to a device, but it wasn't. The continental breakfast could have been fresher. You could tell that the same stuff was there after several days.
Great Value Large Room Smoke Free Comfortable Bed Good Location Free Internet Free Continental Breakfast
Very Bare Bones (didn't even have a soda machine on the floor) Hotel as a whole needs updating, the elevator especially looks like it's been there since the 70s. Some things in the room were falling apart like the headboard was coming off the wall and the toilet paper dispenser fell out of the wall.
I needed a place to relax and sleep for one night. It definitely served that purpose. The television was good and the list of channels helpful. The employees were nice.
It was shabby (patched carpet, for example) and offered no information about the area. Since there is no room service, it would have been nice to have brochures for ordering out.
Good .ocation, close to 95
The staff was great and very friendly. Also very helpful.
The continental breakfast was not very good. It was also obvious that they put out what was left over from the day before. I recognized it from the day before. Also the shower may not have been properly cleaned because I found a used bar of soap with pubic hair on it. Despite that the room was clean.
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
The rooms were dated and worn. Cost was too high for the condition of the hotel. Great downtown location, within walking distance of everything. Owners need to update and upgrade. Price should be no more than $99.00/night.
Staff. Gentleman that checked us in was more than helpful. Swapped out our room when it was too hot, gave us directions, etc. Very helpful. Free shuttle to train. Very reasonably priced
Facility a little aged but comfortable.
Couldn't read floor numbers in elevator. Impoverished breakfast menu.
Clean ,comfortable, lovely beds. Plenty of gleaming white towels, plenty to eat with reasonable choice for breakfast. Very quiet hotel with very good staff, especially Carlton.
Nice hotel for exploring Stamford
I love the lobby and the beautiful entrence , the desk attendant is excellent a beautiful person and very professional good guy, The room setting is very nice , I mean the round table with two shires , nice windows gets nice view , windows curtains are great. like the dresser and mirror with the two nights stands.
The bed was not as comfortable as I was expecting , some problem with the bathroom ventilation system , vent wasn't working and you know what happens when bathroom vent don't work properly , all the stink when the toile is used gets allover inside the room. not very pleasan, room coffee maker has a to much humidity that the coffee tasted kind of unpleasant flavor. every time someone opens any doors my room door made such a vilant noise that interact with the peace and tranquility , the shaken of the room door make it feels like someone is traying to break unto you room middle of the night and any time you taking a nap . I guest those issues were simple to correct by plugging some rubber bushing around the inside door frame , also by using some rubber insulators around and top and botton of the doors, . For the beds need better and thiker comfers , larger and thiker pilos. is a shame such a beautiful place is kind of unpleasant some mainants simplisities. with all my respect for your business management shuld stay in room 304 for three night and tray to listen to this issues . and make correction . The launch was frozen on Monday the 18, I graved some coffee and a cup cake and I when strak up to the my room. My reasons for the review of being so true is so your can make a nice place like the Amsterdam Hotel a better place and more preferable for all your customers . Better matress make a better and happier customer. God Bless
Breakfast, location and price of the room
Paper thin walls
location ease of check in/out
lot of noise bed not comfortable
The room was large, had a fridge and microwave.
It was very cold and the heater could not warm the entire room. Hotel needs upgrade.
the room space
used dental floss on the heater, used tissue on the floors. dirty towels, no vending machines. cigarette holes in the comforter, the heat took a while to come on. the breakfast was minimum, with hard bagels that will leave you toothless. and less than half a cup of orange juice. No bags for the ice bucket, they gave us garbage bags instead. With not a house keeper in site. Need to clean carpets
Location near conference.
Staff not very involved and friendly. Breakfast very basic
Clean rooms, soft beds. Very good location and just an hour train ride into NYC. I had no problems with the hotel and felt safe. We would stay again.
Breakfast was bad. No soda or snack machine. Drop off only at train station, they won't pick you up
very quite, clean
This hotel was really really excellent, just as good as any 5* hotel such as the Sheraton/ Hyatt. The room was very comfortable and the reception staff very friendly and informative. I would definately stay there again and would recommend this lovey hotel to anyone
This is not really a critism because the hotel have little power to prevent selfish and inconsiderate smokers who leave their filthy habit in the form of stale cigarette smell. But this would not put me off going back
Clean Comfortable Roomy
The heater is very loud Hair dryer was not working
the staff was very pleasant to deal with. no problem with check in. provided me with my preference of room location. Staff was great. no problem with parking.
Hotel needs to clean the carpets in the halls & rooms the bedspreads & drapes really need to be replaced. If these improvements were made it would be a nice place to stay. At this time I would not stay there again .
There are a couple of nice chandeliers in the lobby.
I requested a non-smoking room. Although the lobby smelled fine, the rest of the hotel reeked of cigarette smoke. Most of the parking is situated behind the hotel and did not feel safe. Very small elevators. Hotel is tightly wedged between a Taco Bell and residential housing. More than $60 per night, you are overpaying for this hotel. Pet fee is $20 per night (of which they charge a 15% occupancy tax, which makes the pet fee $23 nightly). I've dealt with friendlier desk staff. I wouldn't stay here again.
Very clean, nice staff, excellent location, breakfast is basic but satisfying
A bit expensive
