Check in was at a totally different location, making the beginning of the process difficult. There were no staff on site and when we got up to start our day, there was no breakfast! The kitchen had the raw materials, (eggs in the fridge) but nothing laid out as promised. Not even coffee!
We liked that it was so close to some good restaurants downtown. The bed wasn't too uncomfortable.
You had to go to another hotel to check in, once you did there wasn't anyone there. The bathroom wasn't clean (which led me to question the cleanliness of everything else) - the toilet had NOT been scrubbed in weeks. Breakfast in the morning was some muffins cut in half and eggs, milk, cereal, etc in the fridge that you had to make yourself. There wasn't enough coffee made. More like a hostel - definitely NOT what you pay for in a bed & breakfast. We will never stay there again, or ever recommend it.
Location to the historic part of Anacortes. Bathroom and bedroom were clean but the main areas needed a good vacuum and dust.
There is no staff on duty. This is a rooming house. Our room was double booked so we had to settle for a lesser room. Continental breakfast was not prepared, it was a make it yourself thing. The key for the room had to be picked up at a sleazy motel a few blocks away. There were dirty dishes in the kitchen sink when we arrived and stayed there for more than a day.
Great location that's all I can say about the place. Claire Franklin Box 676 Errington BC V0R 1V0
All the toilets had a fuzzy ring around them (it takes a few weeks for that to happen, yuk). Tiny little soaps, shampoo, no conditioner. We had to make our own breakfast... Costco muffins and pancake mix, no butter or cream for coffee. Dirty dishes in the sink. Had to wash them to make our breakfast. Could feel the springs through the mattresses. Not a single picture on the walls. No staff on site, check in or any enquiries had to be done in person at another facility a few blocks over. Rooms are small and Spartan. There is a washer and dryer in a locked room but we were refused the use of the dryer (we rode our motorcycles over and it had rained pretty hard). Will never stay there again.
Avoid at all costs. Guests in the room next to us listened to TV and laughed loudly until 2AM, while the guests in the room across from us consumed alcohol in their room and made unpleasant noise until past 1AM, giving the house an atmosphere of cheap youth hostel and making it impossible for us to fall asleep before 2AM. There is nobody to refer to as you're getting the keys at a cheap motel 5 blocks away. We were awaken at 6AM by somebody trying to get into our room (locked) and by guests running in the stairs and coming and going out of the two bathrooms located next to our room. The soundproofing in the house is very poor, the doors and stairs are super noisy. Finally, a couple of muffins cut in halves, a few eggs and five yogurts for a house full of guests is not what I would call a breakfast. We had to spend extra money to have a decent breakfast. Worst Bed & Breakfast I've ever been too.
the bed wasn't made when we got back the in the evening. Breakfast was cold cereal dispensers and open milk, There was almost nothing available for breakfast on the weekday and a little more on Friday. There was no place to put bath towels. It was clean, but very sparse. Very poor TV selection. I would rate it as a "Bed", but not a Bed and Breakfast" Neither I nor my sister would ever stay there again.
Not much. Room was clean but unwelcoming.
No staff on site. Breakfast was make your own coffee and one stale Costco muffin to share...for 2 people.
stayed for 2 days... came back the afternoon after the first nite... no towels in the room, no bed made. way over priced for the room. should be priced @ about $70/nite
It was easy to get up and leave really early to catch the ferry.
The bed was uncomfortable and too big for the room. You have to make your own coffee and breakfast. Could only get a few channels on the satellite TV.
Bed was comfortable. Close to town (walking distance) and restaurants.
Breakfast was skimpy and a do it yourself affair. Cereal, milk, muffins were all there. Eggs too but you had to get them out of frig and make them yourself. Bath down the hall was ok and clean. Room was sparse but clean. Décor limited. 2 steps up from camping. Poor value for over $100 a nite. Check in was 4 or 5 blocks away at a questionable motel. No lights on or signs of life second nite I was there. Not scary at night as in nice area but it was dark and not inviting.
The location, friendliness of staff, and amenities.
Confusing as to where to pick up keys and which door to use.
It was clean, and great location. Walking distance to downtown with lots of food options.
There was no staff at the "Bed n Breakfast". We had to go to a seedy looking motel blocks away in order to check-in. There were no tv / wifi / check-out instructions. The establishment felt more like a boarding house than a BnB. Breakfast was not served, but left in the fridge for you to serve yourself: Eggs, costco muffins, cereal. Walls were paper-thin, and bed was rock hard. Very minimally furnished. There was only one nightstand, one small table and a desk chair, the bed and TV. There is no decor except one large 3'x5' painting that was leaning against the wall beside the bed. There is no hand soap in the shared bathrooms, so unless everyone remembers to bring their bar soap that is left in their room, you're touching everyone else's dirty bathroom germs on the doorknob. We were also charged twice: Once to the card used on Booking.com (which is the only way to book online for Ana's) and again to the card that we presented on check-in. I've been told I would receive refund within 5 days.
I would not call this a bed and breakfast! There were no staff on the premise. We had to go to a hotel to check in then return to the house. There was no breakfast. We had to fiend for ourselves. We needed to leave by 8 in the morning and when we called them in the morning for breakfast they informed us that no one could come till 8! I would never recommend them.
One can be at home in the large kitchen, basically outfitted. Frig had yogurt, bread, jam, eggs, milk. Cereal was also available, even at night. Recently remodeled, it was clean, except for the bed skirt. Ppl I met were pleasant, literate.
The house was pitch dark when I arrived about 9 pm. Totally uninviting, as is the interior. A Super 8 has far more warmth and appeal. Not a traditional B&B. More like a hostel. Make your own bkfst.
Cleanliness of rooms, ease of entry and centrally located. Some reviews were negative but it seemed they had expectations of something this B and B is not. It is more like a hybrid Hostel House then a full fledged B and B.
Nothing this place SUCKS!!!!!!
The filth in the rooms and the bathrooms and tubs were scummy. I have been a bachelor for 13 years now and was considered not the cleanest. But this place was beyond any kind of filth that I have ever seen. There was 4 pillows on the bed and only 1 had a pillow case on it. That was absolutely sick..... was the bedding even washed? It was 2 am when we got to the place and there was no one to file our complaint with until later that morning. This place should not be advertised as a bed and breakfast but more of a boarding house. And also the continental breakfast sucked as well.... i think that a motel 6 has this place beat by a mile and a whole lot cleaner too. This by far was the grossest place that I have ever been. This place needs to be cleaned up to be considered a B&B.. or it should be shut down. So please owners take this into consideration and do something about this scum hole.. i feel that my money should be refunded back to me... A unhappy customer.
It was clean
We booked the room almost 3 months in advance because we needed a room with the bath, not shared for personal reasons. When we got there that afternoon to check-in they said that they did not have any more rooms with baths, that they had rented them all out. They only had rooms with share baths. This is not what we signed up for and had the paper work to prove it. We were very unhappy, but had nowhere else to stay last min.. We made it work for that night, but we would not do it again. I don't just blame Ann's, I think it has a lot to do with Booking.Com. They should of made sure the room was clear for us and no one else could of booked it at a later date than us. Like I stated, we made this request 3 months ago.
The on site gal (who doesn't check you in) was helpful in getting a fan as the heat was high and there was no AC. The location is fabulous.
I had to go to another hotel about 4 blocks away to check into Ana's. There was no bath soap and the shampoo was very poor quality. The room was unfinished and there was no light by the bed.
Great location and price, very clean
Nobody works on the property. We had to go to another motel to get our room key. Also, we were the only people staying there that weekend and it was a little creepy to be in that huge house all by ourselves.
Rooms were clean bed fairly comfortable. Great location close to town.
Check in was difficult, due to off season had to go to a motel in town to check in. No instructions on how to use TV no internet password and breakfast was "continental" didn' have anyway, went to mcdonalds for a hot breakfast. Room was small and closet was unusable as under sloped ceiling.
House was cold and dark when we arrived, despite 2 phone calls giving the owner our estimated time of arrival (8:30 pm). The breakfast was well below standard for a bed & breakfast at the nightly rate we paid - thawed Costco muffins, unripe or aged fruit and hardboiled eggs just didn't meet our expectations of a bed and breakfast.
The bed was very, very comfortable. It was easy to heat up the cold room.
The place seemed "cold" and lonely...no flowers, no pictures, construction not quite finished in bedroom, no reading lights. The kitchen counters, while cleared off, were not clean. The muffins in refrigerator were outdated and we didn't eat there. The website said a "voucher for Calico Cupboard"....but we were offered a continental breakfast at the site, no "voucher". We stayed there because we thought we would have breakfast at Calico Cupboard. We went anyway and had to pay.
Walking distance to downtown Anacortes, restaurants, marinas, etc. Spacious room. Comfortable bed. Modest pricing. Wi Fi. Quiet area.
Just rebuilt after a fire so our room was not yet finished/fully supplied with a closet or sitting furniture. Bathroom nice but too small for two people to use at once. Bathroom towels thin and from a hotel with basic hotel supplies. No floor mat. Breakfast offerings very basic continental so we skipped preferring to eat with friends. Would be better if they asked what you liked/wanted to eat.
