The exercise room was a nice plus. Bed was comfortable.

It appeared that the bathroom was not cleaned - sink, floor, tub.I was not told about the renovations at all. Staff should have notified me prior to check-in or at least asked me at check-in if the smell, etc would bother me.The smell of paint bothered me, However, the smell did not get into the room.

Room, and all facilities filthy dirty, carpets smelt (also corridors smelt of smoke and marijuana) We specifically asked for a non smoking room -which we got but the whole hotel smelt of stale smoke and was extremely dirty and dusty (see pictures - this was on day 3) The lighting is so dim we initially didn't notice the grime. When we opened net curtains we discovered the extent of poor housekeeping, which we brought to the attention of the front desk -even tried to show them the photos, which they refused to look at. Noise was also an issue, with room noise travelling through the walls, also the spotlight outside our room window was on all night, even though the curtains were quite thick the light still got through. The room was also uncomfortably hot, the thermostat wasn't working and yet again no action, just told to 'fiddle about with it. Security was a joke, my son visited and asked for us, was roundly ignored and was able to walk right in - unforgivable ! The breakfast room was dirty (which apparently is also their 'Business Centre'- are you kidding ? The microwave particularly nasty with stale food particles and 'matter' spattered all over it, by this time we had given up. But the very worst was we gave them a week to put things right, they gave us the excuse of Hurricane Sandy, I have family in the area (walking distance) and know they weren't affected (apart from the hotel making even more more money from receiving displaced victims and subjecting them to the same poor treatment) I have never left a negative review and would not now if I didn't feel so strongly, The negative review I did read, the Anchor Inn insisted it wasn't them - it was I have proof that I have the right Anchor Inn. If there was a minus mark for cleanliness I would have left a minus 10.

Hotel desk person was nice. but others.... no.

Noisy, smells bad. Breakfast poor.

The staff was absolutely fabulous -- very helpful, accommodating, and friendly.

The location is great. 25 minutes on lirr from Manhattan. Bell Boulevard has many fine restaurants and lots of buzz at weekends. Given that, the price is good.

We have stayed there on several occasions in the past, usually 4-5 days. Though areas of the hotel need to be refurbished we have always found we were pleased with the service and general provision. On this visit,however, there was no housekeeping on the Saturday and we contacted Reception re this we were given some clean towels with reluctance and nothing else was done about cleaning or replenishing anything in the room. Also, on this visit there was no-one on hand to stock up items in the breakfast room so that the "complimentary breakfast" was only achieved with considerable persistence in attracting attention from Reception.

Air conditioner did no function properly.

My wife left a set hoop earrings, on the night table but when I went back it was gone. I understand they are not responsible for items left inside of the room but their staff should be more honest and turn it in the front desk so that the owner can claim it.

Veldig vennlig og hjelpsom betjening. Ligger i et stille, rolig og hyggelig område i Queens. Kontinental frokost var ikke helt topp. Lett å komme seg til Manhattan. Enten med tog Long Island Railroad som tar ca 28 min. til Penn Station, Eller med buss Q 12(går rett utenfor hotellet) inn til Flushing main str. og så Metro nr. 7 inn til Manhattan (Times Square): Dette tar ca. 1 t 45 min, men er mye billigere hvis du f.eks. kjøper et Unlimited Metro-card til 29$. Mange bra spisesteder rett ved hotellet eller i nabolaget,

Rengjøringen var noe mangelfull.

Great value for the $. Location was great. Expressway close. Staff Knowledgeable

Convenient for our purpose A funeral. Bed very comfortable,bathroom great EXCEPT no exhaust fan. It was quiet . Excellent restaurant,Pier 25 next door.

The construction caused the elevator an garage to be messy.

There were many eateries around the hotel and it is not far from the metro.

You have to beg each day before they replace tea items and soap in the rooms. I requested for laundry services twice but my clothes wer not taken. In short, I can not recommend the hotel to anyone.

NOISE! Other guests were rude and inconsiderate, making noise both late at night and early in the AM. I did not call the front desk, but I wish I had.

Ac very noisy Housekeeping opened the door with our "do not disturb"card on the key hole! Breakfast, when we get there at 9:39am, almost nothing left.
