Anchorage Uptown Suites

We booked a 1 bedroom suite. We arrived at 1.30am and rang the bell for after hours reception. Response was prompt and pleasant. We were happy with front desk service.

The location was not downtown but it was within walking distance, if you dont mind walking. However, it is in a noisy part of town near the port and there is constant noise in the night and early morning so difficult for light sleepers. The information/directory folder in the room had not been updated and contained incorrect information, for example, the internet password was wrong, and it stated that continental breakfast was available, which was also incorrect. The bed was not very comfortable, much too soft for our liking, but may suit others. The room was reasonably clean on arrival but it was not serviced during our stay, we stayed two nights. We also noticed that the stairs up to our room were overdue for a clean. The kitchen facilities were fine but a deposit was required if we wanted to use the crockery and pots and pans, which we didnt use. Wifi is available but it is intermittent.The photo on the web shows a modern suite but in reality it is quite old and some bits in need of repair. We did not think it was value for money.
