1) Having to ask for the water in our fridge to be replenished "every day!" 2) Our dirty coffee cups were left in our room for 3 days until we called and asked them to be removed; coffee capsules were not replenished - we gave up asking for them (they only had decaf)! 3) The mattress felt like concrete 4) Our baby's play pen flooring was fitted upside down (on hard side, as opposed to mattress side) 5) the handle of our room door was coming off when we tried to close our room door. I decided not to raise this to see if staff servicing the room would report it and fix it. never happened. 6) Construction outside on firth avenue between midnight and early morning on 2 nights. 7) The cost of this hotel does not match the value you get back; it is ranked close to Bryant Park Hotel, but does not even come close. I will not stay here ever again.
The decor of the room and the shower.
Missing basic amenities like having a coffee machine or even an electric kettle in the room. Tiny closet in the "loft" style room, with no drawers. For the price we were paying I was surprised that breakfast wasn't included. Dim lighting everywhere, including lobby and public areas.
Excellent location. Spacious room and large bathroom. Free mini bar (non-alcoholic) Free wifi
The helpfulness of the staf, the bathroom, the location
A bit of a hike to the north tower -- so don't forget anything :)
A bit pricey but the rooms here are HUGE by any standard -- not just bread basket sized NYC. A "free" glass of actually pretty good wine is a nice touch after a long day (apparently they just cut back the hours -- don't mess with this perk any more!)
Room is not ready half an hour after the check-in time, front desk employee tried to offer lower class room but the senior manager handled the situation quite acceptable. The total delay still cost us a reservation at a restaurant (reservation time lapsed).
Wifi quality is good, beds and bath amenities are acceptable.
Having to wait 3 hours for check in. The receptionist that answered the phone was very rude when I asked about being charged an extra $200 per night on top of my payment.
The hotel is great especially the setup! Location is great 5-10 minute walk to time square!! All staff were nice when we checked in,
Wifi is slow
The staff are wonderful
Some of it is strange. 1) While there are 2 free snacks and the minibar is free, you have to call to have everything restocked. 2) There are no drawers anywhere. The closet is glass and it's beautiful but its awkward. 3) When my room was cleaned, they didn't removed an obviously "finished" room tray 4) The TV channels worked only sporadically. All the on demand movies were older.
The hotel is beautiful, the staff is amazing: helpful, happy to help, seem to enjoy working there.
Good location Good service
I stayed in suite free good size .. To much storage for your bags .. verry clean hotel and modern,, everything was perfect... Friendly staff happy to help every time,, for sure I will comeback
Location, food, gym, design
Rooms bathrooms and good restaurant
Terrific location, close to Times Square and the theater district. The Shop restaurant in the hotel had incredible food. The staff was over the top great, very kind, helpful, and sincere. Rooms were interesting, well decorated, and had nice amenities. We plan on making this our go to place when we stay in the city from now on.
The entire experience was fabulous but the crowning touch was the attentive and helpful staff! Every need was either anticipated or met with gracious charm.
No pool Restaurant staff lacking skills AC at 64 in hallways when it's 20 degrees outside Some staff lacking polish
Balcony Kitchen supplies Location
Had no hot water. Staff did their best to make up for it though...
When we arrived, they gave us a room which was not the one I've booked. We were traveling with our 11 y.o kid, so I booked the big room King's loft. I was so disappointed by the fact, that they kept telling me this was the one. After they gave me a real king's loft and even didn't apologize for wasting my time trying to tell me that I don't really know , how 50 m2 looks, compare with 27m2.
For me a tall person, the furniture was too low to the floor.
I loved my stay! Room on 9th floor so quiet, wonderful view of 5th Ave and the Empire State Building. All employees treated me with the highest respect and courtesy! I've already given my rave review to several family members and friends. Thank-you, Andaz 5th Ave!
I felt like I was being an inconvenience asking for coffee as there was none available in the room and it wasn't clear if I could call and have this brought up to the room.
Loved the concept of the hotel. Loved the Bar, brunch in the Shop was great too. Wine time was a lovely added extra. Bathroom was phenomenal. Bedroom size great. And the bed was super comfy,
Great design of the room Spacy Bathroom Free soft drinks and snacks in the minibar-free coffee in the lobby Quit location in the middle of Manhattan
There was a very strange odor in the elevators everyday.. Almost like they were cleaned with dirty water, and the shower had a slightly strange odor after showers... But it was very easy to look over bc the hotel was really wonderful!
The room was really beautiful and always cleaned perfectly. The linens were constantly turned down for us and the housekeeping staff left nice notes everyday.
although we alteady spent some days at the Andaz in April, nobody recognized that circumstance
