Happy hour--yummy pastries for breakfast
The location, close to restaurants, shopping.
The size of the room was small...the size of the bathroom was minute which made the room look "enormous". The wardrobe was bigger than the bathroom...it is a joke!!!
No air conditioning. Water flow in shower was very poor; drain was backed up was well. Super small ("quaint") sink the the bathroom. Because there was a conference in town, they increased the nightly price by a factor of 3X. The included breakfast is coffee, orange juice and rolls/muffins.
small rooms, lack of air conditioning very hot, rooms quite noisey
Great location, friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was adequate and convenient. Good value for money.
Fan over bed was a little noisy but was required because room got a little stuffy without it. Not too much of an issue
Since San Francisco hotels are abnormally mire expensive than other US major cities, Andrews Hotel offers value for money for its central location. Self-service breakfast served at every floor is convenient as you can grab what you want and bring it to your room.
Room is small. If you are a couple and has 2 20-kg luggage, there's no space to open both at the same time on the floor. My room was facing the side street or parking lot thus the noise of people are from outside was too loud despite the closed window.
Very well located, just a 5 minute walk from Union Square. Convenient, very good, restaurant downstairs. Free drink at happy hour. Interesting lift! Convenience stores and lots of shops nearby. Easy access to public transport - trolly cars, buses.
Very tight room, especially the ensuite. Perfectly adequate but larger people would find it difficult to use. It was quite warm when we stayed and the lack of an air conditioner meant we had to leave the window open which made it rather noisy at night.
Location is great and some of the staff seems helpful. Free Wifi although the speed not so fast.
Totally doesn't worth that much for me to stay. Some of the nights I paid over US$500. Most of the faclities and the breakfast are bad. Phone line doesn't work and the staff couldn't fix it.
Located very close to city center
At night very noisy One receptionist in the evening doesn't care about WiFi problems Very expensive
Nothing at all ....‼️‼️
This is my worst choice ever made I wish not to repeated and strongly this hotel is Not recommend place to stay ever I don't like at all
Location is good. Staff is friendly. Free wifi is good. Breakfast is okay.
The basin is too small for washing face. Rate is too expensive during Oracle OpenWorld, is was as high as nearly $500 per night. Other than that, a good 2 stars hotel.
The location: there are a lot of shopping possibilities nearby and there are a lot of parking garages nearby. The staff is friendly and helpful.
The hotel comes with a history, which is great if you like the authenticity, but not so great if you like modern comfort. There is no airconditioning, only a fan which doesn't cool the room. Everything is small: elevator, bathroom, bed.
- Convenient parking behind hotel, but expensive at 30 $ per night. Avis rental car office just across the street. - Good location not far from Union Square, several good dining opportunities nearby including in-house Italian restaurant. - Shuttle service to the airport at a reasonable 15 $ per person.
- Small room without space for luggage except for a small, unlighted space under a staircase adjacent to the Bath room. - Bathroom sink VERY small with glass shelf above it covering half of the sink, making it impossible not to spill on the floor. - Very noisy rooms facing the street. - Breakfast very basic, not served in a breakfast room but just a basic buffet in the corridor from where you can take the items to your room.
Ideal location Staff very friendly and helpful Breakfast was nice and fresh
Bedroom was cramped
Polite front desk
Having expected a charming "boutique" hotel we were disappointed to find the room, elevator and corridors dated, poorly decorated and frankly depressing. It is more a backpackers than a hotel. We removed ourselves to the Marriott Union Sq, but only after having to cough up over $350 on cancellation.
The staff were excellent better still as was FINO (the Italian restaurant attached to hotel). The continuous tea and coffee, buffet breakfast on each floor and happy hour in the evening all added to nice ambience. The location close to the Union Square tourist scene was also good and well away from the awful (unsafe) areas closer towards Market.
The hotel is getting tired and too pricey for what you might except to get elsewhere.....but that's the SF hotel market for you.
The rooms were comfortable and clean :) Of course it is not a 5/4 star hotel but it has its own charm. I especially like the bathroom but I am not very tall, like 5'5 so it was no problem if you are very tall i can see how it can be a small bathroom. Also the location is great
the restaurant- the ambience of the hotel, and the friendliness of the guests.
No black tea in tea caddy. I should have asked for some but didn't.
Location was very good. Fino's restaurant next door was excellent, especially Justin, and the complimentary wine each night was lovely. Free upgraded wifi was excellent. Staff were very helpful.
Room was very small, dated furniture.
The hotel is well located in the hotel district in San Francisco. Wi-fi works very well and staff was helpful. The things i didn't like are more related to SF than to the place itself
Room is small, there's a valet to park your car but it's quite expensive (this is not the hotel's fault as parking in SF is always very expensive) and the area is somehow shady at night.
Great place in the fabulous location very comfortable. It is surrounded by restaurants and attractions and can't be beat. Although the price has tripled in the last 10 years it's still a great destination.
While it is convenient that the rooms have refrigerators the refrigerators are very old and make lots of noise during the night. They should be replaced.
Very close to Union Square; clean; spacious Loved the single carnation on our last day - nice tradition
location, staff, proximity, style
a little bit old, with some light cords breaking occasionally, but were fixed promptly
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The Hotel is a quaint little historical building. (Reminds me of the Hotels in Paris)The room was just the right size for two. We got a room that had bay windows facing Post street with a queen bed. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had all the products you need plus a hair dryer. We will be staying at the Andrews next time we come to town.
Friendly and helpful front desk; free breakfast in the hall; free wine in the evening; great location
Our room could have used a night table.
