Super friendly and helpful staff
Room wifi was terrible so I had to leave to work.
everthing, location, stuff, breakfast and cleaning
the room really small and it has tiny bath I mean really tiny one 3feet by 3feet.
Front Desk staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is well-located to Union Square and transportation. Queen room was totally satisfactory, didn't expect it to be large. Previously I had stayed in a larger room on the front of the hotel which was very nice. Chose queen based on price this time. Fino, off the hotel lobby, is an excellent Italian restaurant and the happy hour wine is very good.
Friendly staff and good location
This hotel is in an excellent location and is certainly great value for money. The complimentary glass of wine provided to guests each evening is a lovely touch and having breakfast included in the room rate was much appreciated. The staff were all very friendly and helpful making our stay all the more enjoyable.
The bathroom was very small but it is an old building so you do expect this.
the room and the hotel were really cute and very clean; great position, in a safe street very close to Union Square
The breakfast was poor; the bathroom was tiny; the had not very good windows and we were annoyed by a little noise from the street
Nice Staff, always there to help! Wine hour Nice enviroment Good location
The bedroom is sooooo small... The bethroom is soooo small is hard to take a shower or do whatever we have to do inside this small bethroom.
I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. It was clean, breakfast was good and every morning made ready by the room door. Staff caring and helpful. Overall highly recommended!
They welcomed us with champagne in the room for our honeymoon, plus there is a wine happy hour every day in the lobby. Continental breakfast is served on every floor every morning, and I've never had better free coffee - actually I liked it better than Starbucks. The morning muffin was equally addictive, I missed it at every other hotel I visited on this trip! The location is superb. We walked 5-10 miles every day in SF to and from the hotel, and it was smack in the middle of everything we might want to see. Close to public transportation, too, in addition to a $15/person airport share ride every half hour. It was an excellent stay, we will return.
Have been using and recommending the Andrews for 7 years as good value, great location, quaint, pleasant facility. No more. Staff no longer proactively concerned if issue arises; as if management has given up in providing good experience
No hot water; 7 hrs after reporting it there had been no action. Had to move to another room. No apparent concern for inconvenience. Staff seems unconcerned about making things right.
-Located near Union Square and also close to muni and bart stations. -Nice and very helpful staff -for one person there was sufficient space in the room -I stayed there 10 days and had no problems, considering SF prices it was probably the best hotel option available
-Poor "grab and go" Breakfast (just some fruits and pastries, coffee and juice), but I think it is common in the USA -Dark room: even when the sun was shining outside and the curtains off, I had to turn on the lights, because there was another building right in front of my window that blocked all the sunlight. -Notwithstanding the good location, it is also close to Tenderloin and therefore unaware people might walk through this more dangerous area. -Bathroom is awkwardly designed
The location is certainly very good and the rooms are okay.
Compared to other hotels around Union Square it is not really worth the money; some rooms are very loud, the staff is party unfriendly and I didn't get any breakfast on my last day because the electricity was out for a while.
The old'school vintage look, which gives you a different yet homely feeling. I checked out a day early thinking my because I was misinformed of the date of my flight and was already at the airport, but gave a quick call to Andrew's hotel and was able to go back to our original room without a hassle. The staff are all very friendly helping you with what you need. Even when we realized that there wasn't a foldable bed for a third person, they gave us a refund on the spot.
Probably just the TV, it was quite small without many channels.
The location and comfort, the style of the hotel, the Italian restaurant. Gentle staff. Characteristic and lovely for young couple.
May be not the best place for people looking for a luxury hotel. Neighbourhood a bit scary in the night.
It is a clean hotel in a good location. The staff is helpful sometimes.
Breakfast is a joke, coffee and rolls in the hallway. Noise from the street is very loud. If you want a cab in the evening, get it yourself somewhere else. One staff member had a list of cabs but when we needed one he was not there. The man who was there just went into the street to wave down a cab. We gave up and walked down the block and flagged our own cab. Shelf above sink in bathroom is placed so as to block the sink from above. Brushing your teeth is a challenge.
Pleasant atmosphere - good front of house
The room was smallish and the bathroom was grubby - just a shower. No coffee making facilities in room This would have been ok at reasonable price but $289 a night was what a limey would refer to "as taking the mickey" and
the location was very close to Union Square and it had easy access. The continental breakfast on each floor was nice.
The wifi did not work the entire visit. The room had a desk but it was not easy to use when working on a computer. It was also very beat up - I would recommend putting in a compact and sleek desk.
Convenience. Staff friendly and helpful.
Hotel felt scruffy overall but was generally clean. My room smelled of cigarette smoke.
No air conditioning so we need to open the windows. Very noice city
Quaint, comfortable, and conveniently located hotel in downtown SF, close to the BART and shopping. I had been told it was close to a rather unsavory part of town, but had no problems in the area myself. Despite the room being fairly old, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom quite clean. Breakfast served on each floor also worked out well. Overall, a pleasant experience.
The room had no AC, which wasn't terribly bad for the duration of my stay, but I can see it being a problem in other seasons. I was also lucky to have a quiet room, even though there is a wine bar next to the hotel with a loud fan in operation until late at night.
This is one of the most quaint, cozy and unique places we have stayed. The location - perfect for visiting Union Square, jazz bars, shopping, trolley cars and tour buses. The setting - the elevator, the stairwell, the windows, the furniture...it was a journey back in time. The attention to detail - the continental breakfast, the wine tasting, the coffee bar in the lobby...all nice personal touches. The restaurant - the food was amazing and the ambience was lovely!
Staff were pleasant and polite however a great stay can be made even better when staff are engaging with their guests.
This hotel was very unique versus staying in a chain hotel. It was very close to Union Square, which has shopping and restaurants. It is also a quick walk to the Powell / Market St. Cable Car turntable (beginning stop), which we used to go to Pier 39.
The breakfast had limited choices, but was good.
Very nice boutique hotel in the downtown, clean and comfortable room, tea, coffee and water for free available.
