FAQs about hotels in Key West

Plenty of Limes and Good Times

Key West is a gem of an island in the Florida Keys, popular with pleasure seekers and history buffs alike. As the most southern destination in the continental United States, Key West has a fascinating history, dating back to its settlement by Spanish explorers in the 16th century.

Today, this little island off the coast of Florida attracts over a million cruise visitors a year through the Port of Key West. Visitors come to see Hemingway House, where Ernest Hemingway penned "A Farewell to Arms." Key West Cemetery provides a unique walk through the multicultural past of the city. There are also trolley rides through the historic district of Jackson Square.

There’s more than just history to Key West, however. Smathers Beach is a place to have fun in the sun, while Mallory Square provides the chance to shop and watch a magnificent sunset. The excellent bus system helps you get around the island without a car.

Key West International Airport is a mere 4 miles from Duval Street, the heart of downtown and a good place to stay for easily exploring the nearby sights. With accommodations ranging from resorts to B&Bs, Booking.com helps you get the best stay for the best price in Key West!

Was hoping it would be less crowded after Spring break but no such luck...way too crowded for us. We found FREE parking and loved the Trolley tour, Cuban coffee house and Butterfly Conservatory. Visited historic Zachary Taylor State Park which was a great history lesson.

There are so many things to do in Key West. Tons of historic sites, great beaches and views, and obviously Duval Street. Definitely check out taking a day trip to Dry Tortugas to see the National Park and do some snorkeling!!! Memorable sunsets at Mallory Square. We definitely will be back, as we ran out of time to cover it all.

Sun, fun and oh so much to see, do and eat!

Sun, fun and oh so much to see, do and eat! We enjoyed Duval Street and all it had to offer. We ate at Seaside Cafe (my favorite was lobster pizza and the Mojiots). We took the ferry to Latitudes on Sunset Key, it was absolutely amazing. The food and the ambiance was phenomenal. Please be advised, reservations well in advance are required. We visited all the hot spots for drinks and entertainment. We loved breakfast at TwoFriends and Big Cheezies. You can walk or ride bikes all over. We did not rent a car but did rent a golf cart one day. That was fun and we felt safe the entire time.

    Beautiful place to visit.

Beautiful place to visit. We really enjoyed the tours we took. A great place to eat was Rams Head Southernmost restaurant. Very generous portions and a great atmosphere. Pizza Joe's also had really good pizza by the slice. We found the best way to get around was to use Uber or walking. There is no parking and the traffic is very heavy. We drove to Key West but next time we would fly in and use Uber to get around.

It was very crowded with tourists and finding places to eat for children was difficult. Eating was quite expensive. We took the trolley tour which was a nice way to see the area. Enjoyed the Hemingway House, Truman House and Butterfly Conservatory. We found it easier to stroll the side streets and Upper Duval because they were a bit quieter.

Key West is a wonderful place for all to visit.

Key West is a wonderful place for all to visit. It offers something for everyone from diverse food choices, to beaches, boats and shopping. The culture is eccentric, and thr history is interesting. I recommend visiting the Key West cemetery, the East Martello Tower botanic garden (which is free), the Hemingway Home, and taking a sunset cruise. Just simply walking off the beaten path allows you to really see Key West and the people who live there. The architecture is so varied from small cigar houses to large Victorian mansions. Finally, when your feet are tired, pick up a pair of Kino sandals for $25 made in Key West.

After paying crazily high rates at another local hotel, we found this place on Booking.com after deciding to stay an extra night (Key West is incredible, how could we not!). The Palms offered much more sensibly priced accommodation. I felt we got excellent value for money given the quality of the rooms and the fact it included breakfast. All of the staff were also really helpful and friendly.

The front desk is very friendly, very patient, it is a very new hotel, the room is clean, the bedding and towels are also new, the location is far, but the price is relatively high, their staff is very friendly, so although it is a bit far, I I still like it here, if I have the opportunity to go to key west again, I will choose this hotel again

It was a bucket list stay for my husband for his birthday! He had always wanted to sleep on a sailboat, and this came across booking when I was looking for a hotel. Nice surprise for us both. It was easily assessable to Key West and all of the dining and must-sees. Free parking and Captain Brad even offered us a place to park on Duval Street.

The breakfast was also really nice: anything you need to have an American breakfast. The hotel looks very homey and cozy. I would definitely come back!

Great hotel in a great location, far enough away from the Duval Street craziness in quiet surroundings but central enough to be in walking distance to basically everywhere in the historic Key West district, restaurants and waterfront. It is one of the cheapest place in Key West, especially for a large group (8 people). We were able to book two apartments next to each other. The sliding window is directly on a little beach. It is close to the main attractions, and the hotel offers a free shuttle every hour
