The Appenzell Inn was easy to book, easy to find, and more than easy to feel at home in! We stayed in the Chalet which had 2 bedrooms (best pillows ever!) and a great room complete with fireplace and kitchenette. We were minutes from town and close to snowshoeing in Rocky Mtn National Park. The friendly staff only added to the charm of this place!
The kitchenette had a fridge, sink, dishwasher, microwave and dishes but lacked an oven or stove top. I wish I knew ahead of time how to use a hotplate! The room could be accessed from the outside by wooden steps which did get very slippery/icy during the snowy days we were there. The staff did salt the steps and road though, so it didn't get too bad!
Good value for the money. Excellent staff. Very pleasant and helpful. Great room amenities. We have already recommended this hotel to others.
Kitchen trash was full from previous guests.
The room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. I enjoyed our stay and will most likely stay there again.
The breakfast buffet was mostly danishes and rolls. I am gluten free, but in all fairness I didn't let them know ahead of time. We had one issue with the window blind, but the management stated they would have them fixed.
Bed, pillows and comforter were awesome. We didn't want to get out of bed! Very friendly staff. Clean and comfortable with great views.
we were able to check in early, great staff..nice and cozy room, easy parking.Warm bed, blankets, quiet area. will be back!
the pillows were very uncomfortable, but doable.
The room was cozy with a beautiful fire place and wonderful soaking tub. Parking was close and convenient. The location is close to downtown, shopping and restaurants.
Their own restaurant was closed for the season. The pool is across the small parking lot - a chilly walk back to the room.
It was a very nice room, and very clean.
Only draw back was the room was on the small side.
The staff was most friendly and helpful. Great suggestions on places to eat, things to do, places to see. Included breakfast was not gourmet, but decent, many choices, but simple. Spacious room and nice views. The place was 100% full, but quiet and didnt seem so busy, wouldn't have known it was full as staff was always available and ready to see to any needs. We were only here two nights, would love to come back for longer and in season.
We were there a bit after high season, so the restaurant on site was not open. It looks so good on the website, can't wait to come back to this gem again when we can eat at a nice restaurant right there.
Great view, nice accommodations, good amenities, ie indoor pool, hot tub, fireplaces, quiet pretty outdoor areas.
Would be nice if the grill was open but we understand the new owners are working on that.
Staff, location, experience!
Bed was comfortable. Location was great. Young man at check in was sweet.
Blinds in room were terrible, did not close all the way and were broken. We ended up using push pins and a blanket to cover the window. The room was so hot and the cooler (a/c) did not work at all.
The comfort, spaciousness, and cleanliness of the room.
The place was so homey and comfortable - thoroughly enjoyed and will be back again, no doubt!
Wished the restaurant and bar were open, but it was "off season".
Quiet environment. excellent staff and reasonable priced.
The window blinds were broken and needs to be replaced. The rooms were a little too hot at times.
Area flooded a year earlier and they have done a excellent at rebuilding.
Congested area and no wildlife to be seen. Floor above had people running til past midnight.
Room was really nice.
Internet is pretty slow compared to the latest technology out there.
I love the staff at Appezell, from the receptionist to housekeepers. All of the staff at Appenzell's were kind, considerate and helpful and the view from my room was amazing-can't get that in Chicago. I can't wait to visit Colorado again and you can be sure I will stay at the Appenzell Inn. Thank you for making my first visit so wonderful. Jo Anna
What's not to like?
The room was spacious and the kitchen was well stocked. The King bed was very comfortable. The veranda would have been great if the wind had ever died down.
The breakfast area was far too small for the capacity of this hotel. The breakfast was pretty good once we found there was lots more to choose from in the refrigerator. The restaurant and pub were closed - with the Elk festival going on it would have been so nice to be able to just eat at the Pub and not have to shuffle through the crowds downtown. No notification that the pub is only open in the summer!
Quite with covered parking.
That the restaurant was closed for the season.
Very cozy. Staff was great. Breakfast was very good, they even had take along things. Fruit, granola bars etc. Great for hikers. Liked the mountain décor. Helpful suggestions for dinner. Had a great dinner at Mama Rose's.
It snowed 3 feet in the mountains & the pass was closed. Don't suppose they had any control over that.
Nice property with great staff!!
The location is close to Estes Park downtown activities. The room was furnished fine with a comfortable bed. All plumbing, electrical and appliances worked fine. The staff was friendly and helpful.
We were in a downstairs room and the upstairs noise radiated through the ceiling causing our sleep to be disturbed till early morning hours. You can hear every step taken in upper level.
window coverings were poor at best. Inexpensive cheap plastic horizontal blinds that were partially cracked I would not close tightly.easy to see in the room from the outside, and did nothing to block the Sun in the morning. Hung a blanket over the window and all was well.
When trying to print boarding passes for trip home I was told I would have to go elsewhere as customers had no access to a computer. That was the first time in over 10 year I was told I would have to "go elsewhere". Continental breakfast was extremely limited on certain days.
Room spacious and clean. Staff extra friendly and helpful. Kitchen barely used, but seemed to have everything a visitor could want. Gas fireplace unexpected touch. First time to find a laminated chart of tv channels. Nice.
Fresh fruit always gone by the time we ate breakfast (9:00-9:30) Maybe one banana left, but I don't like bananas. Otherwise, breakfast had more choices than I usually find..
