“ Staff were always very helpful, nothing was too much trouble & always made suggestions on things to do. Room was very clean, spacious & relaxing. As it was our honeymoon they left a bottle of champagne for us in the room for when we checked in. Breakfast was lovely in the blue mermaid restaurant. ”

The location was good, easy access to restraunts and the piers. We had a late in the day refresh on our room. We came back about 2:00 to find still the way we left it at 7:00am. The desk followed up on it promptly. A little inconvenient.

Amazing dog friendly staff! Every time we entered the lobby we were greeted by wonderful staff! They brought a dog bed and dog bowls to our room with the happiest attitude, The bed was OK but could have been more cozy with a mattress topper.

fantastic rooms and atmosphere, wonderful hotel, great area, "beergarden outdoor", located next to cable car, good taxi services - no special express services (like ironing of suits) - no earlier check-in than 15.00 - unflexible desk staff - entrance difficult because of road construction

The hotel is ideally located and the reception is warm and welcoming. There is wine between 5 and 6 free which we didn't get chance to take advantage of, and a lovely log fire. The cable cars run from just outside the hotel too which is great. I thought the hotel was very expensive to be honest but I have no complaints about the room or our stay.

Location handy to all Fisherman's Wharf and Ghirardelli Square venues, large quiet sleeping rooms, nicely appointed, friendly and helpful staff, good restaurant in the hotel and in environs. Very small bathroom for two people, although with many luxury amenities. During our stay, there was street construction just outside, with loud jack-hammering starting at 7:45 am (to their credit, the staff warned us of this upon checking-in; since we were arising then for checking out, it wasn't really a problem for us. It should be complete by end of June 2013.) Overnight parking in this area -really, all of central sf -- is very expensive ($40-50 per day), whether with hotel valet or otherwise.

Location is only plus Decor was tacky. Dark lobby. Ongoing construction right outside which was noisy and messy. Never warned. As I left on last day I noticed a posted sign behind a lobby wall that warned of hazardous material being present in the building. Whats that all about? Never go back. By the way $46 a night for parking

Proximity to attractions Only disappointment was when the staff found out it was our 25th anniversary they stated that they couldn't upgrade us but would give us a complimentary bottle of wine. That never happened. It is not a major issue and we will stay there again. We just thought that was a nice touch, but it never materialized.

There was a computer failure when we arrived so we could not access the room. The staff were great in sorting out. The location in Fishermans Wharf was excellent. We tried to book another hotel in the Kimpton chain for later in the year, only to be told that we could not do this via the Argonaut. - surely you should be able via one of their hotels to book another !!

The location is great, on the quiet side of Fisherman's wharf right next to the Powell/Hyde cable car stop. The rooms are very nicely decorated, very comfortable and quiet, the staff extremely helpful and friendly, the Restaurant very good. I could not have made a better choice.

The location is great, close to fisherman's wharf. We had a dodge durango and the hotel told us that's an oversized vehicle and needed to charge us 60 USD/day. What a rip-off. 2 days after we checked out of the hotel, I found a 43 usd charge to my credit card. I called and the hotel told me it was for the mini bar. We did not even use the mini bar. We only used 2 bottles of water in the room (3 USD/bottle). The hotel then apologize for the mistake and sorted it out. Very bad management. My advice is to check your bill when you stay at this hotel. The room was clean but it's too small. Not worth the money. Won;t go back to Argonaut.

Super friendly and helpful staff! Awesome location! Literally across the street from Fisherman'sWharf, the Maritime Park & Cable Cars. Easy walk to multiple areas of interest and of beauty - Pier 39, Alcatraz Landing, Ghirardelli Square - even walked to the Ferry Building Dog friendly - our pup was treated exceptionally well! Nice beverage service in comfortable lobby/lounge area. Restaurant service slow and uneven, albeit friendly.
