Score from 431 reviews Wonderful
Loved the location and nautical charm. Loved the wine in the lobby. Room was clean and bright. Walking distance to everything.
Did not like the service in the restaurant, very slow!!! had to ask the waiter over 3 times for a glass of wine. Glad we just ordered appetizers.
Comfortable room, free bike.
No access to ice machine.
Location, room size
Price, breakfast not included
Loved our room, but not prepared to hear the buses outside window so early in morning
The ambience and location are great... the 5pm Happy Hour was a good time to meet fellow travellers. The hotel staff especially the concierge team were brilliant
very limited coffee / dining options. The restaurant is average and expensive
Champagne and chocolates gift for our anniversary, location, concierge service, wine hour, room decor,
The nautical theme of the hotel was fabulous. The wine hour in the lobby was a nice extra. The location was great. We told the hotel it was a kind of honeymoon having just got married in Las Vegas and a congratulatory message and bottle of wine was left for us in the room.
The concierge wasn't particularly helpful - we were asking about the cable car and he said not to bother because of the queues. Although we were told the valet was 24/7 when we text the number to get our car at 5am to go for our Hot Air Balloon ride there was no valet available.
Bike hire at the door, or just walk the water front
convenient location helpful staff with directions etc wine hour
room a little bit small, not much room to move with twin queen beds
Wonderful Character of the place Extras like Happy Hour - free wine and beer Class treatment and service Beautiful accommodation
Location, location, location...just far enough away from Pier 39 to feel removed from the throngs of tourists but close enough to be part of the thrum.
I wish there were a nicer bar. The bartenders and waitstaff at the Blue Mermaid were excellent and attentive but the atmosphere and aesthetics are incongruous to the Argonaut. PLUS only served chardonnay -- a least favorite -- at the hotel evening social hour.
The rooms were quite pleasant we did like the brick work
Not value for money and a very dark hotel .... Dark passages and squeaky beds
This hotel has a strong design sense without feeling impersonal. The location is brilliant for tourists and there is lots to see within walking distance.
Overnight Parking is expensive
Central location. Extremely comfortable room
Over-priced. My second stay there were several electrical faults with the room but the hotel was quick to reimburse me, when prompted. There was a lot of noise from next bedroom. The hotel is poorly sound-proofed for a new conversion
The quality of food and the service in the restaurant was good abeit expensive. The hotel room and lobby were clean although the room was very small and had no view what so ever.
For what the hotel charges, I expected more. The room was extremely small with a view of a brick wall looking into another room's window. The walls were paper thin and I could hear my neighbor coughing throughout the night. Definately not worth the money I paid for this location. I know San Francisco and the Wharf area is expensive but this seemed extreme.
location on fishermans wharf was good. close to dining and shopping, cable car turnaround right around the corner. for the most part hotel is quiet, unless you have a room that fronts the street.
The rooms were lovely and very clean. The staff, from housekeeping to front desk to bellmen, were excellent and very willing to assist with with everything! Even though the hotel was busy, it was quiet and in a calm area of Fisherman's Wharf. Right across the street from the Hyde-Powell cable car turn around.
The cost for Wi-Fi extremely expensive.
Excellent location, stylish rooms, great beds. Good restaurant/bar on the premises.
No pool. That is the only negative.
A good hotel with an excellent location that definetly drove the price up. If the location of the hotel was any where else but at the wharf , the cost would have been at least half what we paid
The hotel is fantastic, location great, friendly very helpful staff, welcome drinks, free bike use.
We stayed in 6 hotels during our stay in California. The Argonaut was the most expensive and the ONLY one which charged for internet access. Even a Bed & Breakfast private house in Santa Barbara offered free internet. 24 hours was equivalent to a monthly contract rate in the UK.
Location of the hotel is great. Check in was a breeze. Size of the room was poor. Cost was high
Repeated tech support issues didn't allow our iPads to connect. Quick to blame our iPads but when all 4 didn't work they didn't have an answer.
Clean, easy to get anywhere, cabs, food, we avoided the busy times as Fisherman's wharf is actually ok early AM or later at night. We walked to Lands End & visited friends in Nob Hill, Presidio, Haight-Asbury for a minute, (my son wanted to go to Diamond, the only non-hippie shop there) walked the crooked street , & oh bonus is the sunsets and flat walking. Lots to see. Twainnce of Gila nere
Some of the trashy restaurats and street stalls get kinda smelly they are messy daytime streets are crowded.
location. large room, confortable beds, clean.
