Free breakfast really Beautiful neighborhood beautiful building nice people who worked there Nice bathroom Nice lobby Excellent price Nice offered activities
Noisy, I can hear noises from next door and corridor.
Everything - room and common area are clean, free wifi, convenient parking (although with a fee), friendly staff, nice self-serve breakfast. Only stayed one night so can't say more.
Room is not sound-proof. Bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.
Everythig was just great for what i paid
the price is decent (the chepeast hotel is the area was 300USD) and location is convinient. it is 15-20 min by taxi from the Union station. I paid 15 dollars, which I think is quite cheap. The room, bathroom and showers were clean and the staff at the reception was nice and helpful. I needed to print some documents - there are computers and a printer available for free.
Friendly, efficient staff, nice breakfast, comfortable bed, availability of computer terminals.Pleasant neighborhood is a few stops on the L or subway to the Loop, but the (free) DuPaul Art Museum adjacent to the L stop is a nice compensation
Would be nice if they installed individual reading lights at each bed--bring a flashlight so as not to disturb your roommates
nice staff and decent breakfast. Good location close to the L-train and interesting shops and restaurants.
Room was very cold with a lot of cold air through the closed window. The beds very squeaky.
Awesome and super- helpful staff, complimentary breakfast, location really convenient on a quiet street, close to shopping, restaurants & public transportation.
Rooms are really simple. You can hear noises from the corridor and beds aren't that comfortable.
Location Staff Free Breakfast Cleanliness
Bunk beds (even in private rooms) are very noisy every time you move around. The hostel lack of atmosphere and although few things are being organized by the hotel, did not feel like other travelers were interested in paricipating
I like breakfast service.
the room was too cold. i think hitter is not warm.
The heat in my room (408) was very noisy and I had to work by myself to turn that noise off. I told the staff and nobody went to my room to fix it.
Staff are a great laugh, the music playing created a great atmosphere! Since there are events on everynight its a great way to get to know people and the city.
The lobby and rooms were a bit too hot, need to get the heating right. The Wifi wasn't great ether and the breakfast could be extended a little later for the late risers.
The staff were very helpful, professional and friendly. It's a pretty location and a short walk from the lake and the zoo. Nice inexpensive restaurants nearby. I didn't like using a single blanket. I prefer duvets. I thought a single room for 100 dollars was expensive.
A little pricey. Blanket instead of duvet not cool.
Location is good, is close to DePaul University and has a lot of bars and restaurants very close. It has a metro station a few blocks away. Breakfast is fair (don't expect too much as you're paying a hostel), you get to know lots of people from different countries. The hostel organizes each night different events such as pub crawls. The staff is great. You can leave your food in the refrigerators in just puttig a label with your name on it.
Showers could be cleaner! Bit as long as you have your sandals you're ok.
Love the location with great accessibility to so many points of interest. The staff was great giving directions, information and advice. It was so nice to have a really good breakfast included with our stay!
Nothing- it exceeded our expectations
We met a lot of great people from different countries. The staff were always helpful and friendly. Would absolutely stay there again and recommend it!!
Nothing negative to say
Modern equipment in public and common areas
The interior and the facilities start to need maintenance!
Very homey Nice staff Good facilities Very accommodating
Iffy wi fi Better lighting in rooms
Location was really great, not so far from the transport, the place is safe at night.
They have group activities and really encourage guests to communicate. There is a lot of open space to roam about.
The parking is a nightmare! The elevator is also a nightmare. Several people will be walking around barefoot so do bring shower shoes.
The staff was very helpful, and there were always people around in the common areas so it is very easy to get to know people.
nothing not expected from a hostel (a little bit of noise from neighboring rooms...).
Great staff who gave a warm welcome, strong WiFi and very clean. Good communal areas too.
Bedding was a little basic/tired.
1. Breakfast was an unexpected surprise--ample, great waffles, nice chance to chat with other travelers, a friendly international lot, happy to share their experiences and recommendations. 2. Very accommodating staff. 3. Facilities: laundromat in the building was a big plus, free computer usage with a printer, plus lots of spacious common areas to meet and enjoy other travelers. This was exceedingly enjoyable, and helpful. Although I didn't take advantage of it there were evening mixer type activities to encourage interaction--a terrific idea. 3. Location easily accessible by mass transit (six or seven blocks to the train), not in the center but in a lovely residential neighborhood close to DePaul Univ. The walk to the train was beautiful and enjoyable.
1. Beds not very comfortable. One could not sit up in bed without the flimsy mattress sliding off of the frame. Not set up for reading in bed. It is just a place to sleep: clean, quiet, and fine for sleeping. Two improvements : Secure the mattress to the frame and provide night stands with reading light. 2. The common bathrooms were spotty on cleanliness: The toilet I used was feces splattered the first day and stayed that way the five days I was there. No handy toilet brush to clean up after one's self. If staff is not going to do their job, it would be helpful if a brush were provide for users to use--although I am aware that some don't understand this courtesy. The charcoal colored tile on the floor and in the shower areas obscured the true condition of things. I prefer lighter colored floors which are obviously maintained. Adequately fixture count and good hot water. Two improvements recommended: soap and maybe shampoo for the showers and daily cleaning of the toilets.
Great staff, good location, fine rooms.
Everything was ok.
Average hostel. Free breakfast was a nice surprise, the staff was friendly, the location good and every day you receive a fresh towel!
We received beds in a 8-bed bedroom although it stated 4 beds in the reservation form (I suppose it meant 4 bunk beds - this should be clearly stated!). The below ground rooms are very dark and there are no windows in the bathroom. There is no possibility to borrow locks for the lockers, only to buy those.
