Score from 302 reviews Very good
The hostel is located in a nice and calm neighbourhood; however, it is not far from spots where locals come for entertainment. The hostel was clean, staff very friendly. There is a big dinning room and a terrace where you can have a barbecue. There are also computers, but in some time there is a queue for theme. In the morning great breakfast
Good breakfast, big kitchen, excellent location. Big hostel!
Too small amount of power sockets per dorm.
proximity to public transportation
service at the reception lots of info about the city
bed - not confortable at all rooms - weird pictures on the wall
The location was great. We could walk to shops, restaurants, and the metro. Very close to the zoo, and the lake. Free breakfast The staff was very friendly
- Drunk people standing right outside the building talking for hours 2 nights in a row (3 am-5 am) - Small bed for tall husband he didn't get very restful sleep - Rooms were a bit dark but main area downstairs was welcoming
the value for the money is good and the environment is very nice.
There are better hostels in Chicago. The quality of sleep and beds are not very good. The bathroom and toilet are not separated
I liked that the staff was nice and helpful. Nice, cozy joined space at the entrance welcomes you when you arrive. Breakfast is good and divers.
I was very disappointed with the room which was not clean, dust everywhere. The same problem is in joined bathroom. So I suggest some plastic slippers for the shower. But I would cope with that if it wasn’t so cold. The weather in the mid-September was warm and not windy. Regardless that Chicago is known as windy city I didn’t get that impression. I would called this hostel as “windy Chicago hostel” The reason is because the air condition is working even if it is switched off.Outside air rotates the fan and at all times feds cold air in the space. And the air condition is surrounded with some kind of paper which doesn’t isolate the space from outside wind and weather. I think the room cools down under outside temperature. And I think all rooms have the same problem.
Pretty much everything. The staff was friendly and helpful, we were able to make waffles for breakfast and the organised pub crawl was a good way to meet other people.
Very cold in the morning - the winter just started.. :)
Clean room, quality of the breakfast, excellent wifi, facilities of the hotel (printer, tv room, kitchen...)
The room was extremely cold, we even had problems to sleep (we heard other guests complaining also about it, so it was not only our problem). The room was very basic
I am very satisfied for the stay in this hostel. The location is very good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is very good,we cook there. I will recommend this hostel to others.
Breakfast was not bad
Room was small, our bed was not clean at all, we informed the staff but they didn't clean it. They did not clean the bedroom every day and the toilettes were dirty.
The rooms were alittle cold at night ,any way thank you
expensive for what is offered, horrible bathrooms, poor breakfast, uncomfortable bed. I know it´s a hostel and I wasn´t expecting any luxury, but this was just awful for the price we paid - almost $150 night for a room with no bathroom.
Staff services and facilities are excellent and philanthropic with good Breakfast.
Bathrooms should be bigger in sizes.
Liked the location, common area, the fact that you can drink on premises.
All the doors seemed to slam and squeak(not good when people coming in and out at any hours of the night). The beds are also terribly squeaky. Those were my main concerns.
The location Staff were friendly and helpful clean The price
lack of breakfast options for vegetarians bunk beds they made noise staying in the basement it smelled funny and I had a light from outside going into my room as I had the top bunk #5 the room was stuffy also even with the air conditioner on
Basic hostel - clean and friendly staff. It's far out of the city centre but we enjoyed a really nice 2 hour walk along the lake into town. There is also some cool bars not too far down the street.
Excelente breakfast; Awesome environment and staff; Cool common area, living room; Amazing location;
I would like to have a laundry available.
+ nice staff + good public transit
- the beds were really noisy
Tremendous personnel Perfect location, not only close to downtown, but also neighbourhood itself is lovely and worth seeing Breakfasts Friendly people
Good price Convenient location Breakfast included in the price Computers with internet available in the lobby Professional staff
Nothing particular - small things that are very subjective and are not worth mentioning. It is a hostel, so do not expect high hotel standards.
The staff is nice and helpful. Maintenance and cleaning activities going on all the time. The location is very quiet and at same time close to train station and commerce.
The shower area on ground floor bathroom is a bit unpractical. As there is no cabin at front of the shower, we have no space enough to hang clothes and accommodate toiletries. This problem does not happen with other floors once they have cabins.
Everything! Modern and really nice interior Very clean Nicest staff ever Breakfast included Good wifi Location wasn't central, but on the other hand it was in the beautiful Park District, which I suspect might be the prettiest part of Chicago
Um, I don't know... Could use more wall sockets in the rooms?
The private room is very good. Nice sleep.
I slept in dorm room the first night. It drove me crazy as some people arrived late night when I had went to sleep.
Reasonable price with good services clean environment and close to downtown
Weak furniture, dorm beds are shaking when someone is getting up the stairs
