I live staff, very clean and price
Charged extravagantly for such a cheap establishment. Unclean bedsheets Good for young school/college goers on a budget
cost facilities avail staff
floor in shower got water everywhere. tiny (not so comfy) beds no screens on windows/doors
Accessible to the roads to attractions and just 5 minutes drive from Hilo. People could go and shop and sight see then go back to pick up the sleep-ins without drama. Amazing exercise and beach area round the block. Scuba diving down the road.
Could hear the early morning mail plane, disturbed some of us, but generally quiet area.
Simple, clean and efficient. Very well priced
A little gloomy
Great location. Clean. Spacious bedrooms. Nice bathroom!
Kitchen not particularly well stocked equipment wise, but staff searched for/provided requested items; mini frigs in the bedrooms rather than one frig in the kitchen (noise issue), but otherwise adequate.
Great value for money, especially if you are travelling as a group (our accommodation could sleep 6 people). Great to have a kitchenette however, would be better to have fridge(s) in kitchen not bedrooms. Very close to the beach, which is also a great beach for children. Good tours offered through the accommodation
If you plan on staying longer than 2 days and want to do anything other than tours offered through the accommodation you need a car! The location of the lodge is not convenient. There are no close food options, and unfortunately the accommodation does not even have food basics to purchase (such as coffee, tea, milk, sugar - these are also not provided in your room). Unfortunately, this is not a place to be walking around at night if you eat out (according to the locals), and taxi's are very very limited and work when they feel like it. Would also be good if the accommodation offered an affordable airport transfer as they are a fair way out of town and have the vehicles available.
The kitchen, the stuffs, the Moana Kea stargazing tour and tour-guide, and the wi-fi were no doubt great!
We were not mentioned the gathering time for the tour was delayed until i went to the desk at 2 pm... hope to receive these info at least one day before leaving...
Staff was so very helpful. Airline lost our loughs he but the staff handled the delivery and called us when it arrived. The accommodations were very clean and had everything we needed for our comfort. Kitchen was well stocked (need a frying pan) All in all, it was a very pleasant experience and we would definitely stay there again
No issues no problems very well-pleased
Friendly staff, great location, clean rooms and facilities, excellent base camp for adventures!
Tours are discounted if you stay there and our volcano National park tou was great. I like not paying for things I don't use in a hotel.
Refrigerator. Needs better pots and pans. Can't use them because the nonstick surface is peeling off.
Friendly staff, very clean! It's a hostel, which I didn't pay attention to, but a nice one. It's nicer than any hostel I stayed in in Europe in the early 80's! Really.
Wouldn't stay here again because as an older adult (55) it didn't meet my preferences.
Like that tours were involved! Such a great value for the mauna kae and Dino was an excellent guide who knew his stuff. I would never say that this is a four star hotel, but it's a nice camping site with a few room for those who dont want to sleep outside. I actually loved it, but if you want luxury, go somewhere else.
I stayed in a single double room and it was nice. My friend stayed in the dorm area and there did appear to be flies in the kitchen.
The suite was large and super clean.
Staff was very helpful. Prompt and easy check in and out. Nice size to room (1 bdrm suite) and balcony. Good location and easy to find. Quiet. We would return and recommend Arnott's Lodge.
Fridge didn't get quite cold enough. Bed mattress only fair quality.
Price, location near Beach and airport.
