Art Hotel    

We liked the atmosphere of the hotel and found the room extremely comfortable with a lovely ocean view. The housekeeping was of a really good standard. The parking facilities were good. We really enjoyed our stay at The Art Hotel.

The old lady in front desk is very unfriendly. If she is an employee there, it really hurts the business.

Decor of building and lobby was awesome, manager was very nice and friendly.

Too far from downtown to be walkable, but very near a nice park with awesome views down the coast.

Location was ok.

We paid extra for a room with an ocean view however what this actually meant was that we were closer to the very busy, noisy road that the hotel is on, we did not get a good sleep. There are no ocean views from this hotel so don't get tricked into paying for one. All you can see is the road from your room. There were no curtains in our room apart from some thin,see through net curtains which did not block out the light from outside. Also the alarm clock in our room went off at 1am and woke us up, this must have been set by a previous guests and was not checked by the hotel staff before we took the room. When I discussed this with the manager she said that they did not go into that much detail when checking the rooms! So if you do stay here make sure you cancel any previously set alarms yourself as they won'T.

The art work on the structure hid the fact that it is an older hotel and did it much more than well. The manager was super friendly and pleasant in all her dealings. In an area of parking problems the Art provides easy parking at no extra charge.

Can think of nothing to dislike.

Gail was great. As soon as we checked in she made us feel welcomed and answered all our questions.

Wish there was a better view of the ocean.

really clean and well kept. I especially liked all the wicker furniture around the pool, and surrounding the property. very comfortable.

there wasn't anything we didn't like

It was small but very comfortable and not alot of coming and going, quiet. We liked it alot and will return for another visit. Parking was free and easy access. Beach across the street and easy to walk to. Loved it.

Quiet

The ambance was wonderful.Loved the murals. The staff was helpful and very friendly. We apreciated the hotel being dog friendly!

Nothing

Everything! For a budget hotel this was amazing. Fabulous staff, great breakfast, great pool....heated....and lots of character and quirky nooks and crannies. I booked on the net and crossed my fingers as to if I had made the right decision. DEFFO!!!, All of my party really enjoyed our 2 nights stay and were more than pleased. Our stroll into town was via the beach road which was spectacular in itself....great properties and off the scale gardens and vegetation . As Arnie says....I will be back!

Bathroom sink didn't drain

We really liked the price and that the hotel was a bit removed from the main area of Laguna. We also liked that is was close to a very nice beach....within walking distance. The owners and staff were very friendly. Very nice gifts in the lobby....Happy to have free parking.

The water pressure in the faucet in room 201 was very low. We forgot to tell the staff. The shower was fine.

My sister and I were very impressed by the personal feel of the hotel and the supportive staff. Everything was clean and well kept and the art created a fun atmosphere unlike chain hotels.

We had to switch rooms because our ocean view room was double booked.

Robert (owner?) at the front desk was very nice and willing to provide all the info I needed (as I'm Italian, food related of course): we also had a short and interesting talk about living in California. The room was huge and comfy and the bed had the biggest amount of pillows I've ever seen. Very safe underground parking lot. The hotel is only 2 minutes walking to Crescent Bay Point, probably the best "secret" spot in Laguna Beach.

Unfortunately the pool was under maintenance.

Owners/staff were excellent and very helpful indeed.

There was nothing not to like!

Gayle was very willing to share information about the area. In particular if you do not like to do much research before arriving at a destination, she will be happy to help you plan your time. Usualy I research quite a bit before.

It wasn't a big deal but I was charged before I even went to my room. When I first handed over my credit card I assumed it was just for incidentals. If you ask though, you might not need to pay on arrival. The room, although clean, is in need of an update. While I think the ocean could clearly be seen from an oceanview room if there wasn't fog like there was when I was there, do keep in mind that you will see many things other than the ocean - ie. There is another motel across the road, etc. There is some road noise from the pch but unless you plan on leaving the patio door/window open, this is not likely to be a big problem. Heat/ air conditioning cannot be set to a specific temperature.

Very nice hotel for a short stay; the only problem is that they do not serve breakfast

The room was comfortable well kept and art that adorns each each fabulous. Alittle off beaten path Laguna shopping. Cresent Beach access easy and Cresent Point is a marvelous view to behold

Liked it all

A very nice little hotel with art everywhere. You can walk to some stairs to a great little beach. REALLY scenic. Lots of good galleries on North Coast Highway too,

No coffee with the breakfast which was just an apple and a sweet roll. The in-room coffee came with the powdered 'creamer' which I really dislike. BUT I got a large Seattle's Best right next door at a mini-mart so I was able to get my caffeine...

I liked the ocean view and that we were close to a lot of places to eat!

It was all good!

The location in beautiful laguna.. we love it there. Thank you for always being so friendly

We found this a lovely hotel and the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. We also found really helpfull a do it your self laundry service , which was great having a small baby.
