Clean, neat and close to Park, pricing fair room a bit small but workable for a night, would be hot on a summer night

- We were out by ourselves in a comfortable, cozy place - We were right behind a great restaurant - the fireplace - the quietness of it - the scenery - 2 miles from the mountains - friendly people all around - We had an hour cut short because of daylight savings time. The checkout for us was still scheduled at 11. We probably could've stayed the extra hour if we'd have asked. - The room was cold when we entered in. Despite the comfort and coziness, upon entering we were shivering until we got under the covers. The heater took quite a while to get the room warmed adequately.

My friend and I recently stayed in Frenchie's Room overnight. We found our room and bathroom clean and comfortable. The beds were fabulous. We had a wonderful night's sleep. We also used the hot tub after our day of hiking and loved it. We ate two meals at the restaurant and both times were completely ignored by every employee while waiting to be seated. The first time once we were first acknowledged we were told we had to wait because there were only larger tables available. There were at least three tables available but we were told it was policy to only seat a table if at least half of it could be filled. However, we were eventually seated at one of the larger tables and the others that were originally available remained available throughout our entire meal. At breakfast the next morning we again were completely ignored by every employee--at least four--who walked by. This time there were at least five small tables available. After ten minutes of being ignored we decided to seat ourselves and occupy one of the smaller tables. After sitting for at least five minutes, again being ignored by all staff, we stopped an employee on her way from another table. She was abrupt and unapologetic making it seem like it was our own fault for not being served as we had seated ourselves. We were two women and wonder if all female couple diners receive the same lacking service. We witnessed male and female couples being promptly greeted and seated while we were completely ignored. Otherwise, the food was fabulous and the room was charming and cozy. Our only sour note was the horrible way we were treated by restaurant staff.

Outstanding rustic feel. Having stayed in a series of traditional hotels on this same trip, a romantic night curled up to a nice fire was a real treat. HIghly recommended! Service in the restaurant can be a little slow. It's very busy and popular with locals and tourists alike, but this doesn't excuse the occasionally tardy service.

We stayed in the Forest Retreat cabin and it was really beautiful. It is located behind the Copper Creek restaurant, up the hill, in the woods. The house is a gorgeous A-Frame cabin. It is very well built with many many windows that open to beautiful views of the woods and mountains. The house was clean and well kept up. It had complete kitchen facilities and a nice bathroom with a shower stall. There is a lovely deck that overlooks the area and a hot tub out back. You can walk to the Copper Creek Restaurant for all of your meals if you want to. We really enjoyed our stay there. Rustic, but very comfortable. There was a tv but it only worked for videos/dvds. The queen size bed is in a small loft that you must walk up a tight winding staircase to get to. You need good balance and no fear of heights to get to it! The bathroom towels were a bit dingy looking. They were clean but slightly worn out looking blue and brown towels. I would have preferred white fresh towels. There is one odd thing that was a bit disconcerting but didn't really bother us...there are bath facilities located on the lower level of the house for guests staying at two nearby cabins to use. Those cabins do not have bathrooms, so people are entering the lower level of the house and using the facilities. It was not a problem and did not bother us but it seemed a little weird. That part of the house did not have access to where we were staying upstairs so I felt safe.

The Inn's proximity to Mount Rainier is great for people looking to do a day hike and the Inn's amenities were a really nice surprise. The restaurant had blackberry everything (syrup, butter, jam, vinaigrette, milkshakes, pie...)
