Location by the sea, lots of trees and wildlife, good room (got one with a view of the ocean!) and comfortable bed.
Huge line for check in at 4pm, there's nothing much to do in there. It could be an incredible place but it's just an ok place.
The location, the buildings, the atmosphere
We had obviously one of the older rooms without TV etc. Nevertheless nice and clean.
Lodge building was noisy by other guests
location room was ok
lack of personality in the conference buildings
Discomfort in very small Historic room, without any amenities. I realize this is a conference facility, not a resort hotel, but the price is way too high.
the path along the sand dunes to the beach, the natural setting
quite expensive for rooms with no privacy (corridors where other guests pass in front of the only bedroom window)
The room was big and the location is really nice
The bathroom was really bad for the amount of money that we paid. The surroundings are really nice but the quality/price ratio is not well calibrated
Location! Location! Location!
Outdoor carpeting- very shabby. The bathroom had areas of mold, the bath area lacked deodorizing function, interior lighting was inadequate.
Location and views.
Rather expensive for the run-down state of the rooms and the quality of the breakfasts.
The location is fabulous and the price is right. The main room with pool hall and fireplaces are nice.
The gong that rings at 7:30 AM needs to Go!!! Who wants to wake up at 7:30 AM on the weekend during a vacation? The room had a dorm feel, the mattresses were hard and not new. The bathroom is super small and needs updating. The line for coffee was ridiculously long and the cafe was not well stocked.
The staff was awesome and accommodating.
I walked into a completely different room than I booked. Two very small twin beds instated of the two doubles I booked. It was like staying at camp. The rooms were very sparse, the AC/fan didn't work and we were right next to a road. The walls were paper thin and you could everything and everyone.
Loved the grounds and view, close proximity to everything on Monterey Peninsula. And no TV in the room!
Afterhours noise policy not enforced. We stayed at the Breakers, and in absolute absence of sound insulation in the rooms, it felt like people were actually in our room. Although policy requires the patrons to be quiet, nobody even tried.
Very expensive for poor service - we booked a double and when we arrived they offered us two single beds. Then changed us to a double but was a wheelchair accessible room - my 6 ft tall boyfriend couldn't even shower. Dinner is only served from 6-7 pm - this was not stated anywhere. Room was near a common room and very loud!
Most things. The parking facilities the surrounding areas. The tranquil setting.
Dinner not available after 7pm. Breakfast facilities lacking variety and pricing high. Staff while competent were not notably friendly.
The place is located the hotel is beatiful. The rooms are really comfortable and have view to the garden and sea. The people from the hotel are nice and everything was good.
On the breakfast the people from the hotel insist to you seat down on the tables they designate.
Low key rustic environment. Fair amount of international travelers in the mix. Communal seating during meals.
Staff not very welcoming, more like what one would expect from a state-run enterprise.
Northern California style Proximity to Pebble Beach and Monterey area Quiet surroundings Two sinks and closed room toilet and shower
Old and stuffy atmosphere in the room Fixed head shower Limited parking and far away especially bad when one has a lot of luggage No TV in the room Wi-Fi signal could be stronger
close to the beach
The location was great and I love the architecture. The bar tender at Phoebe cafe was great-very friendly and efficient!
The rooms need updating-the bathrooms are very old. The walls are thin-I could hear snoring from next door! The next morning I could hear all the doors banging, the staff vacuuming and conversations loud and clear and we kept our windows closed.
Really nice location between Monterey and Carmel. Very scenic grounds and rustic buildings with up to date modern interiors,Great value for money, very comfortable beds with good enough lighting for reading
Really nothing of note. However would prefer your survey have a category between good and excellent, as I would have marked some items very good versus good, and one or two items very good versus excellent
It was the only place that had a room available because of the events going on nearby, but was way over priced. Could have slept in the car for the same value. Room was spacious and clean...just not impressive. I would not recommend you waste your money to stay here.
- Parking was underground and not convenient. Had to carry luggage on a hike and upstairs with no elevator. No television No ice No view when paid extra for it...trees overgrown and in the way No telephone Way over priced Sleeping in my car would have been better. Although the landscape is natural, it is a complete fire hazard. No amenities and food and store close by 9pm and sooner.
The location is great for long walks by the beach. The staff are helpful and friendly. The grounds and architecture are lovely.
I stayed in Scripps. After my second night I had lower back pain. I think it may have been caused by the mattress,
Great location and staff
In need of updating
Nature Location Access to beach Very Quiet and serene.
Price Room and Bath needs an overhaul. Even with little money the shower doors can be replaced. In short, for $215 a night one expects free breakfast and a free newspaper.
Location; proximity to beach and Monterey Bay Aquarium and good restaurants deer wandering the neighborhood raccoon raiding the trash bins at night - like being at summer camp bed was comfy people were pleasant
Outdated bathroom - from the 60s Tiny room Many rooms have poor view Advert seemed misleading - what we arrived to did not seem as what we had reserved Getting extra bedding for the kids was a slow, laborious, time-drain from our evening plans
